Because they are, sometimes y’all take body positivity to the point of delusion. Nobody wants pimples, puffiness, wrinkles, stretch marks, sagging, cellulite, etc. (Many of which I have lol) just because they are normal doesn’t mean we can’t call it what it is, a flaw.

@@GraduateJLNBut the truth is the only reason these things are viewed as flaws is because of conditioning by capitalism. Anti-aging is a BILLION dollar industry. If everyone was told the truth like wrinkles and cellulite are perfectly natural and barely preventable because of gravity and the way skin reacts to stretching, they wouldn’t spend thousands trying to “reverse” it. It is not embarrassing to age. It is a remarkable privilege that few have nowadays, especially in developing countries.

@@plainezaine5065 Do you see how you’re adding words that were never said, no one said they were embarrassing, I even admitted I have most of them and i’m in my 20’s. The point is, there is a universal ideal look for these things. If we all had the choice of having wrinkles, cellulite, acne, stretch marks, sagging, etc. No one would want them. Nothing wrong with it, but it’s a flaw none the less. It’s considered an imperfection to the overwhelming majority of people and it’s doesn’t matter HOW we got here or who influenced us, we’re here and it is what it is.

@@GraduateJLN It actually does matter how we got here because it shows these lines about what is and isn’t a flaw are completely arbitrary and pointless. There were decades when freckles were seen as dirty and unseemly, now everyone wants faux freckles so bad there’s literally companies making products to do the work for you. These things aren’t natural flaws, they’re made up flaws. So why go through the headache of spending thousands when you can just call it like it is, an opinion.

If I’m being honest, I’m literally scared to post on social media because when I see others post, they always look so perfect and I feel like I don’t look that way. I model a little bit on the side and literally the only photos that I post are professionally retouched/ edited(I do so rarely though) and I always let people know that they are in fact edited. But I just don’t have a lot of confidence in myself so I rarely post😭. None of photos in the video really shocked me too much because again the women are in fact very beautiful (both filtered and unedited) however, Angelina was the one who looked the most different in her unfiltered vs. filtered photo imo

I used to think aging wasn't a problem because I always looked 10 years younger. I think I still do, because my cowrkers think I'm 28. When I reached 40 I started to pedal back and at 44...From 42 up our face and skin drastically ages overnight. I'm hating it. And this may not be a concern for some people, but my personality is young and free and most of my life I've been considered pretty (by others, not me...) which even though it can be annoying, and sometimes you feel objectified and dumbed down, it's really hard to lose that big part of my identity. I'm still young and free in my mind and I still have a young and free lifestyle, but now it looks stupid in my age. I ignore that, but then I look myself in the mirror or photos and I know I'm done. Face and personality do not match.

GOD! Angelina!! whyyyyyy do they all want to look the same? it's SO BORING! I get it's BDD, i have it ,but you can DECIDE to rise above the hate. I was called a boy until 3rd grade and still called ugly my whole life. [nowhere near it] Self Esteem is hard- all these women are so sad. Usually when a celebrity uses photoshop and/or gets plastic surgery, it is because of what people say to them based of of their looks, so they feel insecure. It doesn’t help when ppl do this. No it isn’t our responsibility what celebrities do when it comes to their looks and how they influence others, but we do play a hand in how they feel (if we are sending rude and hateful comments their way)…they are human. Yes based off of some celebrities actions they do need to be called out (not in a hateful way - when does this ever work?) but bashing their looks only shows how you are insecure yourself. Use your time wisely rather than spreading hate. (I’m saying “you” in general here)
