Thank you for reviewing a Dimash selection. I am a 66 year old retired teacher grandma dear, and I have never responded to any singer like I respond to Dimash. After watching him perform a song, I have to let out a deep breath at the end. I’ve never really been a big fan of music in languages I don’t speak or of operatic voices, but this is not the case with ANYTHING Dimash sings. If he’s singing it, it’s my genre! Dimash may not be the best singer in the world, but he is the best singer I’ve ever heard. Can’t wait for you to hear “Love Is Like A Dream” and “Olympico”. Famed Russian composer, Igor Krutoy came out of retirement to work with Dimash, and those are 2 of their collaborations. Absolutely, amazing!

Dimash is very famous, in certain circles. He's very famous in China, he's a national treasure of Kazakhstan, his home country. He has fans world wide, hes just not super famous in the Western world. But he does have fan bases all over America. As I'm part of the New York fan club and USA Dears fanclub. Dears is what Dimash fans are called. He's only 29, and in 6 months he'll be 30. He can sing in over a dozen languages, but averages on 8 languages per concert, sometimes more. Dimash is not money hungry, and he tries to be a good role model and a good representative of his country. Dimash can go much deeper and higher in his vocals.

This song is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight in 2017 (The Singer). The song with impressive lyrics comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' (1978) and is known in the English-speaking world as Tycoon (1995). Music: Michel Berger and Luc Plamondon (French original text). The English adaptation is by Tim Rice. That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Dimash basically broke the Chinese internet in 2017 when he competed in a Chinese singing competition and required body guards after his first performance on the show.. He sold out the Barclay arena in New York in 2019 in three days with fans (Dears) from over 60 countries. He's not well known here because he will not sell out his soul to be "American" famous. His music is his own. He has received awards and sung in front of various foreign officials. He's not into that "only singing for rich people" shtick. He's about as down to earth and humble as one can get. That being said, please react to more Dimash. He will always surprise you.

Thank you for discovering Dimash and welcome to a beautiful world of music. Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And this in all registers (chest, mixed and head voice up to the whistle register). The transitions from one register to the other are so fluid that they are sometimes not recognized even by vocal coaches or professional singers. His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of hard daily training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. And at his concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan on September 23, 2022 he sang in 7 languages in one concert! And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 16 or 17 languages so far). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how. Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this. His concert in September 23, 2022 was in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄. SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione. But of course you know the song😅. SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. The gentleman at the end you see standing and clapping is the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. He has come out of retirement to work with Dimash. True masterpieces were created. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. If possible, always watch the videos from start to finish. Very often there are interesting things to learn. Either there’s something to laugh about, or he’s talking to his audience. He always thanks his musicians. Dimash had many concerts in China and Kazakhstan and in USA, England, Germany, Czech Republic, Turkey, Armenia, Dubai and in Russia. His next concert is in Hong Kong on 12/23/2023 and in Budapest (Hungary) on May 6, 2024. More concerts will be announced soon. About power metal. You might want to react to his OST for the Chinese release of Go Go Power Rangers. Also, he has held sold out concerts worldwide including New York (on 12/10/19). Next up are Hong Kong (12/23/23) and Budapest (5/4/24). He was born on 5/24/1994, so that makes him 29 years old right now. Apart from Go Go Power Rangers you might enjoy more poppy type songs or rap, which Dimash does sing too, such as Be with Me (I recommend the MV).

Dimash is 29. At his last concert in his native Kazakhstan a year ago, he filled a stadium with 35,000 fans from 68 countries. His wedding singing days were when he was a teenager!

I think Dimash hasn't actually sung in weddings to earn money. His parents told that they preferred it so. A wise decision. "Toy singers" are a separate genre in Kazakhstan, they are entertainers in weddings. It's quite a good business but certainly not ART. Just simple, generic songs to entertain people. By the way, Dimash also performed as a band with his friends in his youth...

His independence means he isn't produced, processed, packed, packaged and promoted for the current music industry typing, slotting and dispensing like a "Coke Machine". He was just televised performing a Kazakh folk song he arranged and sang while playing a Dombra & an e-keyboard. That is not only UNMARKETABLE (in the USA market) but not singable. It was a tour de force, but the music industry, understandably, has $$ as the bottom line. They are not interested in promoting international culture, preserving folk traditions, being diverse or pressing boundaries of exceptional talent- if, it doesn't make $$$$. Most pop music in the USA today is either rude, crude, trash or "throw away" k***. There are some artists that sneak through, by or over with meaningful content. But, it's rare today.

To break the USA music industry I think snagging a BOND movie theme would be ideal. He did meet w David Foster in LA this year. He just recorded a short duet w Hauser. January includes a rehearsal/duet w PLACIDO DOMINGO for the Virtuosi show. Currently he is in Hong Kong getting ready for the upcoming concert. Can't calculate the # of air miles he racks up.

Dimash has a 7.2 octave range and you are hearing a part of what he can do in this song. He sings all genres of music from Opera (& he is able to sing from bass to soprano), pop, rock, folk, classical, r&b, jazz and even raps in some songs. He is a phenomenon. He also sings in 14 languages, is a multi instrumentalist and composer. He started music school at age 5 and has 2 degrees with honours in music and a Doctorate too. Actually Dimash regularly fills arenas with fans travelling from all over the world to see him.

Dimash 29 y.o from Kazakhstan sings The Diva Dance from the Movie Fifth Element. Only a blue big computerised alien lady can sing it because it is (was before Dimash) impossible for a human to sing it.
