Literally watching this video with the exact same covers on my iPhone. Can confirm they’re excellent & rarely get pulled off in your pocket like other ones. And you can cut them to size if it needs to fit between the lip of a screen cover or phone case

You should do an episode on iPhone pair-locking (aka supervision). A counter-forensics measure effectively rendering advanced digital forensics tools useless, such as those applied by TSA border agents and law enforcement agencies, because these tools depend on pairing with the iPhone.

Great idea… didn’t know about the pairing thing. Do you have articles that discuss how this is being exploited? Btw, have been supervising my iPhone for years now using Apple Configurator. One can also dial in (some) privacy and security settings using provisioning profiles.

Webcam covers are relatively easy to find, that one looks really good, I wish I could find a case where it cover your mic when no using the phone. Do you know any?

Unfortunately, covering mic would likely not prevent sound capture given nature of how sound travels through material. 😔

Sun I have one question for now: are you familiar with the “Experimental WebKit Features”? I have a iPhone 12. It’s my first iPhone product and I’m not familiar with all the different settings. Being a bit over concerned (maybe) I turned them all off. I’m not sure if it’s a good thing or not. What is your view?

hey Sun, love your content so far. Going back through some of your old videos I wish you can go into more detail about that sort of stuff of dns over https and fingerprinting. Im sure you have the technical knowledge to explain it on detail. I also wish you could do a comparison of brave and firefox, maybe even give your opinion on governance of both browsers, I think a lot has changed in the past 2 years. To expand on it, I might be too much of a nerd about all this stuff. But I think we, as privacy advocates, should explain why all this recommendations and settings work or not in our benefit. Or how one implementation of a feature works different and why, than another one. Since it all depends on threat models having a detailed explanation about stuff can really go a long way when one is tweaking everything to fit a threat model. I also think having a channel that does this sort of stuff would be incredible, since most rarely go deep into the technicalities of how a bunch of this stuff works.

Chemicals of certain adhesives can harm the anti-glare coating of monitors… they also tend to kink so user experience is not great.
