not always.. an MRI won't show cervicogenic dystructure nor upper cervical instability. Prolotherapy helps to restore the ligaments in that area that pinch the nerves

Great informative videoDr. Hannah. Unfortunately, I have bilateral trigeminal neuralgia, and out of over 120+ doctors that I've seen, the ONLY thing that has given me any significant relief is when I was referred to Dr. Roy Sweat, who pioneered "Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic". You are definitely right, sir, it was coming from my neck.

I was just diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia. I have always had neck problems so maybe mine stems from that 🤷♀️

I've have lost the natural curve in my neck, I have arthritis, and poor posture . I started having severe face pain on both sides, feels like sinus pressure exactly! But It's coming from my neck, it's so crazy who would of thought!

Interesting! I am also having face pain plus a feeling like sinus pressure, as if there was gas in there that is widening. Have you found something that helps?

Btw, my neck is also not as naturally curvy as it should be...

@@sterneprinzessin Physical Therapy exercises are helping, and I know this sounds weird but Nasal rinsing helps relieve pressure.. Even though it's not your sinuses, the Trigeminal nerve comes into the maxillary sinus area and feels like pressure and pain! Neil med sinus rinse kit , and please use distilled water unless you want a brain eating amobia up your nose! lol

@RancidPetals23 Haha, great, thanks for the tip! I am doing these rinses occasionally, using a special sea salt too. Will try again. What kind of physical exercises are you doing, targeting the neck specifically?
@RancidPetals23 Жыл бұрын
I go to physical therapy twice weekly and we work on strengthening the neck, to hopefully get that natural curve back someday! There's great exercises on youtube also that you can do at home , if your unable to do therapy. Occipital Nueralgia exercises help so much

Please help my husband has had TN for 33 years, last year 14 Nov he had fungal infection on that side, the Dr didn't say it would effect him, to this day he has severe excruciating pain attacks as soon as he places his head on the pillow. If I rub behind the TN ear side it triggers off pain. Please help. Thank you

Then can you explain how mvd surgery fix that issue like there theory is that vascular artery compress trigeminal nerve but what is the reality as in mri we can see sca artery touching it near trigeminal nerve. How to treat that issue?? Or remove compression from tn ...does this work in that case or not?? Vascular compression one...Why it compress tn?? And how to decompress it without surgery?? What to fix in this case because normal people have gap between trigeminal nerve and artery but in some there is compress in tn
@DrJeffreyHannah2 жыл бұрын
Varies from person to person. In brief, MVD works very well when compression is present. If physiological tension on the brainstem persists, it can be a co-contributing issue, which is why and how TN can occur for slightly different reasons, and also why there are different treatment approaches.

@@DrJeffreyHannah but why vascular compression happens at trigeminal nerve in some people ?? What is the reason for that or is artery compress trigeminal nerve or is it something else like any bone make artery to compress tn

@@DrJeffreyHannah doc but there are many asymptomatic people having vascular contact at trigeminal nerve in mri but don't have symptoms and it is large number

@@DrJeffreyHannahI wonder too. My nerves are touching but my doctor told me that they can compress together and some people have no symptoms.... I have atypical trigeminal neuralgia in classic trigeminal. For years I was having pain and didn't know what was going on. First started with facial pain and I thought it was sinuses that's all ENT then thought I had to get root canals done and then it just seemed to get worse. I'm in constant pain on Lyrica and I get stabbing pains. I don't know if the MVD surgery would help me or not. This is such a terrible thing to go through there's no words. It is affected my whole life I can't hardly keep a job I'm so glad you're sharing this information. Some of us feel so hopeless with this condition.

so from January till about march every other week i would wake up with a crick in my neck and at the end of April i had this sensation in my ear thought something crawled in and then from their things went downhill i started having a headache and face pains the doc diagnosed me with TN off that alone but i haven't had any face pains since but ive had dull headaches and those headaches and any sort of pain would be relieved if I simpled turned my head to the right. im a 29-year-old male

I had an injury that gave me lateral pelvic tilt. After doing yoga for a month, my back is feeling a little better, but shoulders neck and jaw still hurt and have electric shocks in head. Could it still be because of the pelvic tilt? Or should I suspect something else bc my back is only improving?

Hi Doctor, Can C3-C4 disc bulge coz the issues with face pain? I have a mild Spondylosis in C3-C4 region so I am not sure if the discomfort in ear, jaw and cheekbones stemming from that area or not.
