I love my 2022 Lexus UX 200! It's my first purchased car without my parents co-signing lol. Everyone in my family is all about Lexus and I was the final one in the family to finally get one. I'm not all about speed or power, but just a comfortable ride. This car is more than enough for my needs. I definitely recommend anyone consider this their next car if performance isn't your concern.

FYI Corolla hatch back has the same engine and transmission and ergonomically better interior. Cost $20k less 2

@@mikemayers8672, but the UX has some better parts (mostly aluminium) for better driving, a more refined design, far better interior, far better ride/comfort and acoustic isolation, more ergonomic command center and high quality buttons and audio system and speakers, the understated Japanese luxury etc. You cannot distinguish that it is the same TNGA platform, the settings are different. Your comparizon makes sense only when you do not have money for the Lexus. Lexus is far more than a glorified Toyota! FYI: Lexus UX got the #2 position in the Reliability Top published by Consumer Reports last year. Plus the small TCO for 5-years ownership etc. And in the 250h F Sport trim the performance is really nice, as my wife has it.

@@mikemayers8672 LMAO 🤣 Really lame answer, quite childish. The UX 250h F Sport is excellent also for real men, that do not feel the urge to behave in a stupid, macho way. There is nothing like it among luxury cars, most are unreliable and too opulent (very, very different from the Lexus understated luxury and efficiency). But it's true that Corolla is the best choice in terms of value. The best choice for most of the people. However, financially independent people want better, relaxing cars. Btw, my daily drive (plus on track) is a Miata ND2 RF G-185 Top Revolution, considered by many also the best value for money (the LC500 is an amazing car, but I didn't buy it even when it was discounted from 119'000€ to 80'000€, because I'm happy with my Miata, #1 - most reliable car). And I can also bet my wife drives far better than you (she is overpassing many cocky drivers on the track) 🤣

I like the UX a lot but here in Norway a top spec UX costs about the same as a GR Yaris and I would happily give up a bit of practicality and amenities for the unique driving thrill.

We passed on the F Sport in our 2020 UX. FOR US, all that red in there was gaudy and eccentric looking, which took the car from being Classy to "Klassy". In base trim, it's priced for value as an entry level car should be. In 2 years we have never been below 30 mpg (in our UX200) combined mixed driving, which included considerable mountain driving.

Lexus UX 250h is an excellent crossover from most points of view. By the way, there is available also the "negative" colours choice (the opposite scheme of colours) of that too much red of some F Sport leather: black / dark grey leather, with burgundy sowing, some more burgundy that can be barely seen through the leather perforations in the middle of the seats etc. Understated sportiness/luxury, Lexus style...

@ islandin22 If I were to buy a UX I would prefer the the non hybrid version. It’s a simpler design it will outlast the hybrid version and the difference in fuel saving is negligible especially when compared to the difference in initial price

Great review Kirk! My wife is actually interested in the UX and looking forward to the 2023. I have to say that this vehicle is not designed for a thrilling ride. I know many have commented on the HP, however, in driving around the city with traffic, what’s the point of having a fast and powerful car if you constantly have to start and stop? I think that this is a great commuter car with all the creature comforts of a smooth and quiet ride. This car caters to a different segment, and especially with the cost of gas these days and having to commute 80 miles to work, this would be a great vehicle. We are looking forward to the refresh and our first Lexus! Thanks for the review.

Tbh touchpad isn’t that bad. 😊. I hope the touchscreen will have some sort of oleophobic coating if not, I will have to clean it everyday due to fingerprints. Hence, I am keeping mine MY20. I think MY22 is probably the best model to get if you want colour matching fenders. As for the tire update, I guess any older UXh will be able to get them when their tires wore out. I read a lot of people saying it is too expensive and it is better to get RAV4 or Venza. I shall say entry Lexus is still a Lexus. It is more quiet, stable at high speed and more refine comparing to Toyotas. You will understand what I meant once you experience one.

Good review!! What’s an entry level vehicle? This UX has as much technology as any other Lexus. It may not be as plush as other Lexus Like the RX or NX. Also not everyone wants that, or a big vehicle that carries 4-5 people with lost of cargo capacity. My wife did not buy this vehicle because she couldn’t afford an RX or NX considering she had an NX before. She loves the size, the drivability and most of all the interior design, layout and feel of this vehicle.

This comment is not smart, because its appreciation depends on who will be using the UX. I could also write (wrongfully), that RX is too big, but some people consider it right for their needs. The 181 HP are enough for most of the drivers. I use to do track-days sometimes (mostly with my ND2 Miata RF G-184 Top Revolution, #1 reliable car worldwide, but I also checked my wife's UX 250h F Sport) and I can write truthfully that the car is excellent for normal roads. It was #2 in the Reliability Top published by Consumer Reports the year before.

@@codincoman9019 " not smart" I eyeballed the UX since it first came out I finally test drove one and then ordered a 350h. The mpg on the UX is the same as the 350h. plus the hp of 239 vs 181 is a huge difference
@codincoman9019
@codincoman9019 2 жыл бұрын
@@mikej238, different taste, different needs, different choice. However, you can not be objective about UX's mpg, as you do not own an UX, just as I do not own an NX and I cannot objectively comment on NX's mpg... Plus the weight of NX is bigger than the weight of UX, so bigger power doesn't mean necessarily faster acceleration. Even though, as I have a friend owning the last year NX350h, I can realistically appreciate that my UX 250h F Sport has a better performance (mpg, 0-60mph, speed on turns) that an Executive NX 350h (SIVS had a similar comment above) 😉 This, or the driving style differs too much.

MY 2023 - missing 12v in front, missing radio controls, hard plastics at the back, no spare(i think it would fit a compact one) - all bad things. i would also call missing trackpad a bad thing. i do get the craze about touchscreen, but why cant they just put that new touchscreen in and keep it all from pre-face lift version...? and let people to choose how they wanna operate their vehicle... but thank god (or lexus 😋 )at least there is still fully PHYSICAL HVAC! 🎉🎊

I tried to get into one of these things at my local Lexus dealership. I literally couldn't get my head or knees in. It's way, way too small for me. Granted, I'm relatively tall at just under 6'4", but I can't imagine anyone above 5'6" liking the size of these cars.

@codincoman9019 2 жыл бұрын
I am 6'2" and I can testify that you are full of BS. I am driving lots of times my wife's Lexus UX 250h F Sport and I have more than enough space for myself. In fact, I enjoy a lot her car, it was chosen after a thorough investigation into the possible choices on the market, in the final the UX beating clearly the Mazda CX-30. One of our best friends also drove her car and he has 6'5" and aprox. 120Kg. He felt cramped (but not too much), for him his Mitsubishi Outlander feels better. But to say that you can't imagine anyone above 5'6" liking the size of UX is a big lie. It must be a reason behind your hate of UX.

The UX (I own one) is very, very far away from the C-HR (I had 2 drive-tests). You cannot feel that is the same platform. Why? Different settings with many better parts (a lot of aluminium) for a superior driving, far better acoustic isolation, better seats, better speakers, better ergonomics (excellent command center and buttons), better comfort and (of course) the understated Japanese luxury etc . If it doesn't sell in the UK it doesn't mean it's not good. Btw, Lexus UX got the #2 position in the Reliability Top published by Consumer Reports last year, so its not about "better reliability" but about uber-reliability.

@@stevesinclair1791, EV is a bigger scam than the Diesel. They were both promoted by "eco"-Marxists (some activists, some politicians), their stupid theory being based on a huge lie: that CO2 is polluting. No, the other emissions are mostly toxic, and the Diesel engines have plenty more than gas ICE's. The electric (blood) batteries are extremely polluting and are unreliable, dangerous and cannot be recycled (there are many documentaries on KZbin about the EV lie). So, thanks, but I am sticking with the hybrids (best of both worlds that collide now, because of the leftards) and with the NA ICE's, manual stick, RWD (as I have in my Miata ND2 RF G-184 Top Revolution). Btw, the Japanese car makers (leaders in reliability, TCO and efficiency etc.) are delaying the EV's (you saw what is coming up from Lexus/Toyota) on purpose (the CEO's of Toyota, Mazda, Stellantis spoke against the politicians' stupid push for "electrification"), not that they are not good with EV's...

UX is pretty much outclassed in every aspect except for fuel economy. Looking forward to a more competitive successor. A wishlist for the next gen UX: 1. Make it more space-efficient 2. The UX was released before Toyota thought about the Corolla Cross, so it's based on the only subcompact crossover they had at the time, the CH-R. So that explains why it's so small on the inside. Hopefully they'll base the next gen UX on the Corolla Cross platform which should give it more interior room and the 194HP hybrid system from that model.
