It’s not insensitive. In fact, when he did a show in Dubai, he was scared to actually bring Ahmed onto stage and decided that he would leave Ahmed out of the act but the people that went to see him were actually shouting out for him to do Ahmed. He got more laughs from the audience with Ahmed than all the rest. The best one is Jeff Dunham, arguing with myself. He takes four puppets and himself and has an argument between him and four puppets. Now that takes some serious skill.

Jeff had one problem during his world tour. In Malaysia, authorities had Jeff change Achmed to different name before he went with Achmed onstage. Jeff renamed Achmed in protest to Jacques Merde, dead French Terrorist. Jacques Merde means in French, "Jack Shit"

Jeff is a great entertainer. I saw him decades ago on the Tonight Show where he was essentially doing like 5 different voices (his own included) practically simultaneously. It was hilarious. Another good ventriloquist, in my opinion is Nina Conti. I love her interactions with her primary puppet "Monkey". Monkey LOVES breaking the ventriloquism 4th wall every chance he gets.

I think the real challenge of ventriloquism is being able to bring your characters to life, to make people get pulled into the puppet and forget that it's plastic and wood.... with Jeff, I always buy into his characters as if they are real. Especially Walter.

One of Jeff's best performance videos is a clip of him in the 1980's at 'Evening at the Improv'. In a small comedy club he has 3 of his characters,Peanut,A character in a small bottle,and a little guy dummy with him at the same time.He amazingly with super fast speed goes into an amazing routine.Going between all 3 characters voices back and forth flawlessly,it is quite impressive.

I'm an American, and got to see him in Abu Dhabi (capital of the United Arab Emirates). Not only was the show amazing, but the locals couldn't stop laughing when Jeff was making fun of them, and went nuts (in a good way) when he brought Achmed out!😂

Another comedian Gabriel I. Aka Fluffy got invited to preform in the Middle East, apparently he was the 2nd most popular comedian over there. When Fluffy asked who was #1, it was Mr “Silent! I Kill You!” Jeff Duham!! The story is interesting and can be heard on one of hi specials, most of which is on YT!

from a majority muslim country here. not insensitive. jokes are too simple but funny, cause some of them hold truth in them in some particular ones in the neighbouring countries around. still as i said; good for simple crowd, but also takes balls to do this after the towers thing. jeff's talent on stage is admirable tho, i don't think anyone would argue that.

He is doing his act, for his audience, and the jokes are tested over time with audiences from around the world. He is not trying to cater only to a Muslim majority with cutting edge "in" jokes, which, I am sure the ministry against fun would execute for...

You should check out Darci Lynn- She won America's got talent when she was 12 years old by doing this same thing, but she had an added element to hers. She still does it and she's older now but she's branching out with other dreams of hers too. When I hear the word ventriloquist, I automatically will forever think of her and Jeff Dumham both now and not just him. She's amazing and you should check her out if you haven't already.

The first extremely popular ventriloquist was Edgar Bergen and his puppet/dummy Charles McCarthy and their foil was legendary comedian W.C.Fields. The act was that Charly and W.C. hated each other and trade insults with Edgar being the peacemaker. They weee in movies and radio during the thirties and forties transitioning to t.v. in the fifties and sixties. Edgar’s other claim to fame was that his daughter Candace became a movie and t.v. Star best known for her long running sitcom Murphy Brown

Look up the celebrity Family Feud episode with Steve Harvey where Jeff brings out Walter. There's a point in there where Steve is talking to Walter, and laughing, and carrying on a conversation, and gets tickled...and it dawns on him that this dummy is not a real person....and his reaction is so damn funny! Even if you don't want to put it on your channel, just watch it. It cracked me up so bad!!!
