Hey man , fellow Canadian here . Im 30 and my boy is turning 7 next week. I have not been able to catch any fish in the last two years . Fished all my life with my dad . Some hunting . So now shore fishing with my son we go out every weekend and haven’t caught anything in two years . I need help or advice . I cant afford your school . Ive tried worms minnows lures everything . Im afraid to ruin fishing for my boy . Last weekend he didnt want to go fishing he stayed home . My tackle is pretty old , i buy some new stuff doesn’t seem to work , anyways love the channel i know you understand having a young boy to keep him interested in the great outdoors .

@@jordangryg5442 the key is to find bass where they are not heavily attacked and caught by fishermen if it’s a high fishing time the fish will be less likely to bite try to find some nice cool shade and in this weather fish shallow and if the water is clear use white/ natural color baits if it’s dirty use more visible colors such as black or red and preferable in both conditions something with some shine/glitter

My grandfather wrote an article in Field and Stream in the either the late 1950’s early 1960’s (I don’t have it in front of me) talking about how he caught 2,000 bass on his version of the Texas rig on Lake of the Pines and Caddo lake. He had no electronics at all. And he used a 7’ medium action spinning rig to boot. He used a pseudonym Robert Carey but his real name was Robert Carey Scott of Tyler, TX. No one at his employer, Purina Feed, Co. was fooled. Not only was he an expert angler but was a scratch golfer and successful gambler. If alcohol had not got the best of him he would have been a better father and grandfather. Love your channel!

I’m an old fashion Bank Beater! I have FFS but I’m not good with it. I’m learning but there is nothing like skipping a whacky worm under a dock or trees and pulling a 6 lber out of there. Or beat her yet watching a monster hit a buzz bait at full speed.

We need more videos like this. Some of us just want to fish. I fished my entire childhood with my grandfather in a very small boat with no electronics at all and we always always always caught many fish and many giant fish. It was all about learning the fish patterns and fishing according to the conditions. None of this staring at a screen and throwing a lure on their head until they bite.

Talking about that lipless is on point. I crush them every spring on Chickamauga! Sometimes I find them exactly where B-Lat said on a mud flat in a creek and also in the grass flats. I’ve had some of the most epic days on that bait. Truthfully every spring on Chickamauga in a 2-3 month span you’re guaranteed a 4-8 lber! Again guaranteed!!!!! You may have to go multiple days but during that period in the spring is $$$$!

I can't afford forward facing sonar. I do good to afford my Tracker 175 TXW. I try to use the information you provide in your videos along with a select few other KZbinrs. So far I'm enjoying myself while I learn the "old school" ways of fishing.

Since I bought my Pro Team 175 TF last spring I have caught more fish than ever. I do have FFS but don’t know how to use it. So I try my best but just being out in my boat I’m happy

I have ffs, haven't turned it on in 2 years, ive cashed in every tournament this year and won 3. Yeah its local club level with 20 boats but its still Alabama lakes with hammers at every one.

@@matthewcritchfield6997you’re not forced to use it, and he’s just explained you doesn’t have to have it to catch fish. Please make the BS make sense to me? When I see guys with it getting their teeth kicked out every week, I have one but I use it as another tool, some days I doesn’t get a bite.

@@DLPfishing hey I’m not trying to justify it. I don’t use it and never will the fact, 80% of the time we fish we don’t even turn our electronics on. I don’t need it to catch fish I just find it funny how Sam these pros are acting like they can’t live without it and then they wanna cry about it. When you tell them they’re cheating you can call it a tool all you want. There’s no other tools on the boat that you can literally watch , the fish and how it reacts I mean come on dude get real

FFS. Is not cheating. It is just another tool to up your fishing game. It’s only cheating if it’s not available to everyone. The supplier does not discriminate on who buys it. I 100% love it.

For you tournament guys who use FFS. Are there times when you aren’t using it? Or when you watch a professional tournament, are there times when you guys don’t use it? Not trying to start anything, I genuinely don’t know. I just bought my first bass boat and I’m looking to do some tournament fishing and I don’t have FFS and I’m not sure when I’ll be able to get even if I decide I want it. Thanks!

You had better get it if you plan on competing. It’s plain and simple, Techno Bass fishing is the trend . It definitely is more fun without FFS, it’s the element of surprise that match up with your skill level, realizing patterns and having success at figuring it out without the aid of modern technology.

@@juniper-usa-shei369 I wonder if there will be more tournament trails that start trying to appeal to the guys who don’t want to use FFS. I know technology will always be where the money for those guys who make a living doing this or want to try to get there, I get it. For the rest of us who are just trying to have a good time on a weekend and maybe win a few extra bucks, it would be cool to see a class type system. I’ve shot tournament 3D archery for years and we have all sorts of classes for people who like different setups from bare bow all the way to 5 thousand dollar compounds with everything you can imagine. I can see bass fishing going that way if there is money and demand and different classes.

I would like to see that kind of stuff too! I really enjoyed MLF when it first started broadcasting, I like the idea of stair step tournaments. What we have now is a donation massacre for the community pro’s on their home lakes. The weekend angler doesn’t fair too well against this level of competition.

You definitely dont need it to catch fish. But dont even bother fishing a tournament without one if you intend to win. You'll be at way too big of a disadvantage.
