Thank you and Desi so much. For years, I've been trying to have my lower back/hips, shoulders and head to align flush when standing against the wall. I did two Desi's routines and this one, and guess what? I can do that alignment! What's up with that? lol yoga chair for christmas plus you two...what a fabulous way to start off the new year.

Hi Sheralyn, wonderful. Sometimes when we hear an explanation said in a certain way or over many times we get something new. Keep practicing with me and see what else comes. You will find the chair very useful. Enjoy! 🙏🏻

The chair is so different. Is this available anywhere on a website?
@DesaYogiIyengarYoga3 жыл бұрын
@@lillysummer3546 Hi, the Iyengar”s have been using the chair to assist young and mature practitioners for over 50 years. Due to its functionality and high demand many manufacturers are now producing all over the world. You can search" iyengar yoga chair" on Amazon and there should be plenty to choose from. It is unique as there is no back ( we use to have to take the back out manually! ) and the leg bars are positioned to allow for various leg and hand positions comfortably. Enjoy your practice, be curious and find ways that the chair adds to your awareness while you hold longer and go deeper. 🙏🏻 Kathy

@@DesaYogiIyengarYoga thank you for detailed reply. I got to know more. I have been an Iyengar student for a year and a half now and I got my chair from the Iyengar Institute. It is a black one. I was really curious about this one because the backrest is different than the ones we have. It’s more out and curved than the regular ones. I visited a lady in Mumbai who sold props and looked at many. Maybe I will send her this video to ask if she has something like this available but also check Amazon. Not sure if India will have it. It is good for backbend while sitting.

@@lillysummer3546 Seems everywhere in the world has some variation. 😂 What you bought from the institute should work. India also has many chairs for Iyengar yoga as well. The chair you have should work. Maybe send me a photo so I can take a look and advise. :)

Hello Deepthi, thanks for your note. Are you practicing yoga regularly? Please let me know the level of your knowledge of yoga and i will further recommend. Also please tell me more about your lifestyle, eating habits (food) routine movements, sleep patterns and any medication your taking. All of this can make a difference and all needs to be accounted for. Looking forward to hearing from you. In the meantime, start with working with you hands and fingers to get movement and circulation to the arms. Namaste

@DesaYogiIyengarYoga2 жыл бұрын
Dear Nela, I suggest you watch and stop it so you can try this at your own speed. This practice is simple and has been broken down step by step. I encourage you to watch several times then to take at your own pace by watching, stopping and then going doing on your own and start again. Stay in the pose or action as long as you feel comfortable and then move on. No pressure, by allowing the body to feel the movement you can build up the opening and create softness and stability. Enjoy your own self paced journey. 🙏🏻
