Jamaican Oxtails 😈
4lbs Oxtail
2 Tbsp browning
1 Tbsp seasoning salt
1 Tbsp oxtail seasoning (which is composed of garlic, onion, paprika, cayenne, all spice, thyme, turmeric
6 cloves garlic
2 Tbsp brown sugar
2 scotch bonnets
1 carrot
1 bell pepper
1 onion
1 green onion
2 bay leaves
2 sprigs of thyme
1 cup soy sauce
1 cup ketchup
2 cans butter beans
You can also pressure cook this for an 1 on high 😈

Please explain the washing? I have made oxtail many times never heard of washing in lemon and vinegar. Is it just to wash or for the flavor?

@@cjp111 we jamaicans have to rinse off or as you say wash all meats we are cooking and the lemon can be used in place of vinegar so yes it's very very necessary

@@tominhaledhisfingers2468 It cuts down on the raw smell the meat has while preparing for being seasoned and also for when cooking it's all a part of the preparation process but you dont need to cook it for 7 hours but you will need a pressure cooker to cut that down to maybe 3hours max.

This is actually pretty accurate, a few things tho 1. We cook it down without the added seasons like the onion and then near the end (like an 30 minutes before it's done) we add the seasons. 2. Soy sause and bay leaf aren't common ingredients used but they won't change much in terms of taste. Overall tho you did a great job thanks for including Jamaica food and doing it well Love from Jamaica ❤️🇯🇲🇯🇲
