If i had to choose, I'd go with Predator 2 (1990). It's truly a great action movie overshadowed by a perfect action movie. I'd rate Predator (1987) 10/10, I'd still give the second installment a solid 8/10. The cast has solid synergy. Bill Paxton doing his specialty as an overcocky hero. Douchebag Gary Busey is always a win win. "I'm too old for this shit" Danny Glover to glue them all together. And not to mention the near documentary accurate streets of L.A. in 1997. It's just that the 90s was an exceptional era for Action movies! - Die Hard(er) - Under Siege - DEMOLITION MAN - The Fugitive - Lethal Weapon 3 - Bad Boys - Speed - PATRIOT GAMES - Clear and Present Danger - US Marshals - Last Action Hero - The Devil's Own - Air Force One - The Rock - CON AIR - FACE/OFF etc. And let's not forget the phenomenal Action Movies of the 80s too... - Commando - Beverley Hills Cop 1+2 - Predator - Lethal Weapon 1+2 - K-9 and of course DIE HARD and ALIENS!

Cliffhanger! I find these one-off action films that legends like Stallone did back then so fascinating and strangely comforting to watch. You pretty much know what you're going to get but without the heavy baggage of a Rambo film for instance. Also it's always refreshing to see someone like that play a pretty wholesome character. @BDWJ1989 I personally would class the recreational activity of 'surfing' to be the baddest ass action of the highest order. There are also guns, robberies and Anthony Kiedis of Red Hot Chili Peppers fame. What more do you want man?
@matthewcowell5 жыл бұрын
@BDWJ1989 It's definitely an action classic, underrated - maybe not i agree. Probably my favourite action movie of all time.

It's really too bad Tony Jaa never got as big as he could have been. I think he got stuck in a contract with a really shady company and had a pretty public meltdown.

I'll be honest, I clicked because I saw 'The Rundown' but not because I thought I would agree with them that it's underrated, but that I think it's a dumb film and I wanted to hear their excuses for why it's great.

OUT FOR JUSTICE is the most badass cop action flick ever. THE PROTECTOR (tony jaa) is the most badass fish out of water action flick. KUNG FU HUSTLE is the most badass (non jackie chan) comedy action flick. but DEATH RACE 2000 (original roger corman) is the best vehicle action flick. i may have left out many others, but off the top of the head, all of these are pure 🤘and i wish they were more of our day to day.
