IMO, arguable one of the best "soul singers" of the 1960's thru the 1990's....R.I.P.,, Joe, I miss that gravelly voice......

In 1981, I was living in Santa Barbara and my good friend was a chef at a restaurant in the area. He calls me one night and says, "Get your butt over here right away. Joe Cocker is singing in the bar!" He lived in Santa Barbara at time and apparently, he knew the guys in the band that night and he just came to jam with them. I was able to watch him sing a couple songs before he left. He was amazing and his energy was off the charts, even in a smallish bar.

This is such a great song and Joe just smashes it. I really love this one, thank you. This was released in 1986. I just call it Joe Cocker, he was just who he was, his own genre.

Joe felt the music, and couldn't help but move to it. THE Rock Maestro!

I think so much music back then was a blend of many genres, Mugs. That’s why it’s timeless and sounds so good. Absolutely, Soul influenced everything! 😊

Love this, heard it many times. Never gets old. The brass, the sax and the beautiful ladies dancing and singing. Man you have an ear for year, believe it was 1986.

I'm a metalhead, but always liked some very few artists from other genres. Joe is one of them. I just love his voice. Up Where We Belong is one of my favorites by him.

I just lost my 21-year-old old cat,Miss Josephine ,and let me tell you, when I played Joe Cockers music, she went nuts. That cat loved JC. RIP to them both. Cats have class. And he was a class act,who was also a classy cat 🤣.

I would call this R&B. The old rhythm and blues gets you every time.

I was lucky enough to see Joe Cocker in concert in the early 90s. It was an honor and he makes everyone feel it like he does. This is straight on Rhythm and blues.

I love him so much. His voice is like no other- he’s got so much soul in him. The horns and backup singers are epic. You rarely see/hear horns in today’s music. I was 🤣🤣🤣 at your Ron Jeremy comment! Have you seen his “Feelin’ Alright”, “She Came in through the bathroom Window” and “Unchain My Heart”? If not you should check them out.

A Randy Newman masterpiece brought to life by Joe Cocker. I like the live concert version with Derek Dyer on sax.
