The reason the producers dont spend too much time focusing on Jana is because there is nothing going on in her life. She's not married, she doesn't have children, she's not going to school, she doesn't have a job, no special talents or hobbies none that she showcases on the show at least. The girls life is boring. Shes not contributing anything to the show. That why they dont focus on her. It's her siblings who are keeping the show going reproducing like rabbits.

The thing is most books are one readers. Beingbin a thrift store is way better than being at a dump. At least the book wasn’t a waste of paper and it might get a second life. I gave The Happiest Refugee to someone because I didn’t have the time to read it. So even though it’s a very valuable book, I felt it was selfish for me to hold onto it when I don’t have a lot of time to read at the moment and I need to spend that time on reading parenting books in this season of my life, and it could actually be read by someone right now instead of sitting on my shelf. I’ll find a copy of that book again one day in a library or thrift shop or somewhere and give it the attention it deserves when I’m ready.

I love when I find my novels in used book stores. I buy them and resell them "used" on Amazon. Its interesting when i've personally signed it to someone from a book tour-- I can recall the time period. I always date it when I sign. Authors can't buy their "new" books for 50-cents like on the used market, so it takes a second to do the math: gobble them up & list 'em on eBay or Craigslist. And sell as a signed book--worth more. You will always find yr books used near your hometown. First time you see them, yr taken aback. Then, u revisit the place often to buy them up. I know the feeling.

You can get great bargains at auctions from some of the fancy stores, or the fancy stores will dump their “out of season” items at a thrift store. Sometimes they’ll also drastically slash prices.

jim bob refused to let them go to college. i don't remember which daughter it was but one of them asked jim bob if she could attend college and he said no. jim bob controls all of the finances and jana has no job skills so it would be extremely difficult of jana to live by herself in the real world
