soup for breakfast sounds really nice. when its cold and you don’t feel that hungry it seems nice to have when you wake up, if only it were just made already haha, my breakfast is butter toast n if i had time fried eggs (seems to be fastest eggs)

In asia... Women wake up very early. Round 4 am. They pray to GOD and prepare and cook for family.

I love umeboshi but they're SOOO expensive in New York! Often around $8 just for a small pack.

I'm assuming this breakfast takes about an hour to prepare. The rice cook time was 35 minutes, not including time to pre-wash (maybe 3-ish minutes) and cool-down time (maybe 10-ish minute) in order to form the onigiri. If you were able to prepare everything else in the time the rice is cooking, that would give another 10-12 minutes to form the onigiri and plate the separate dishes for serving. That's a lot of effort.

I think eggplants and cucumbers can be done the night before or even once in a couple of days. Also, there are programmable rice cookers which would have rice ready by the time you are waking up. What I mean is there are options in order to have a nice meal without wasting time.

May I please have the recipe for the sauces made on this youtube feed "Japanese breakfast Onigiri"? I love the Eggplant, but have no idea of how to make the sauce that the eggplants submerged in...

All y'all complaining about cooking time... For one, a majority of Asian households have a perpetual rice supply since they eat it with basically every meal. Plus, what else are you doing in the morning that takes up so much time? Scrolling through your phone? Hitting the snooze button? I'm not saying there aren't people who are legitimately too busy to cook a decent breakfast. But a lot of the people who are "too busy" are really just preoccupied with menial things.

all people should at least attempt to cook their own food I’d say they’re doin ok for themselves, its not be chef tier or don’t cook, cooking is necessary for being a responsible adult, i think you’re to critical
