I've watched hours of Dame interviews. I love his Wisdom. However, I dont know how anyone can be in a room with him for more than 2 minutes. His mouth is his gift and curse.
@akendon7260
@akendon7260 3 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Most times when a man runs is mouth like a woman and all emotional, it rubs people the wrong way especially those in today's business world and will turn them off. Dame personality might work in the streets or hood but not in the business world. If you look at most successful men, they don't run their mouth too much, rather calculative like Jay Z. Jay Z biggest asset people often miss is his demeanor and professionalism despite not having a higher education. This has allowed him to relate with men of status like Warren Buffett, Obama, banks and capital firms CEOs to raise capital. Despite the fall out with Dame, Jay Z remained cultured, even in this interview stayed respectful of Dame and refused to attack or divulge fallout. But Dame goes everywhere crying foul!

After a certain point - Dame didn’t bring anything to the table. He said it, they were focused on expanding the Roc. But Jay WAS The Roc and he became WAY bigger than the Roc. Dame didn’t make Jay, Jay’s talent made Jay. Yes Dame helped Jay get in position and Dame was compensated appropriately for that, BUT that doesn’t mean that Jay owes him or is obligated to split the money with Dame forever.

Never understood why folks side with an artist's manager. He doesn't rap or sing. A bit like Denzel falling out with his manager and I take the manager's side. It'd never happen. The manager didn't act his chops off in Malcolm X. Denzel did. I don't care what he did for Denzel on the come up. Important as they are, I don't mistake agents and publicists for the real talent. I'm in this for the entertainment only. Industry drama is fun to read but Jay is clearly the talent. Many consider him one of the greats. And Dame is what exactly? He's not even on Master P's level, let alone Berry Gordy. Really should've stayed in food & beverage.

Thats what's kills me when people with there little podcasts start telling people that leor cohen is the reason that jay left dam ..that leor whispered in jayz (whos a grown man by the way who is known for walkin on his own two preaching independence!) ear and told him he has to leave the roc and go to def jam and he has to cut all ties with dam atleast when it comes to business. I seriously hear that bs and im straight up blown away people believe that. Part of me thinks thats the easy escape goat a very successful and rich white man who has no social media page nor responds to anything or anyone who throws dirt on his name. Sorry just keepin it a buck yall. But jays success starts with his beliefs of being independent and owning his own sh__ dating all way bsck to early early 90s in interviews pre "reasonable doubt" days. So why people can't just except jay say the writing on the walls way before he actually left. He loves dam thats his boy but business wise they are two opposites. He isn't the raa raa dude he would prefer to lay back in the cut listening and learning from people. Every move he has made has been calculated from the jump cause he wanted to take his brand and make it world wide. He never saw color either jay jay had no problem standing next to a white man or a Spanish dude if it meant he would become partners and own everything he put his name on. Where dam who by the way is also a great successful business man but dam did see color and his ego was so big especially when the roc blew up that he started calling everyone in the game who didn't look like him and thought everyone was a "culture vulture " So listen yall jay explains it all in many interviews the reasons people just need to friggin listen! Lol. They grew to be two different people and thats ok theres no hate or beef as he says its the way it works.

Everybody by now gotta notice how Jay-Z never said anything publicly negative about Dame Dash..Dame on the other hand always shits on Jay and is still angry and bitter over their split . I love Dame too and everything he stands for morality and principle wise..but as a man u gotta know when to cut your losses and not take everything so personal ..true friends can do business together and stop doing business together and still be friends at the end of the day..life is about every man, woman and child going on their own distinctive and chosen path in life

There are people in this world who think that there is enough out there for all of us. I am one of those people. If there is $1 million and there are 2 of us. Then we can split 50/50. But there are others who think differently, and they would rather split things up 60/40 or 70/30 then 80/20 to eventually 100 to 0. I work with people like this. If one's goal is to become a billionaire then he can not go on sharing millions with others. Some may think of this as greed, some may think of it as smart. I dont know whether it is right or wrong. How much money do certain people need? That question is not answerable. Strange world we live in. Probably a lot of JZ fans here, who going to be mad. I'm not throwing shade. It is what it is.

I don’t think it was a matter of Jay Z wanting a bigger split. I think it was Jay recognizing that Dame’s personality would limit Jay’s own entrepreneurial potential. And it turns out, Jay Z was correct.

Does jay z get as pissed off as damon does if he is asked about Jay z? I know here he is calm about it but is he usually? Man dame gets so angry in any interview I've seen when asked about Jay. I get answering the same questions is maddening but I think bc jay z came out bigger & much richer & is the talent I sense the jealousy in damon. Like he gets bitter. Probably bc his thing with Jay z is the most successful thing he has ever done while jay z moved way up & beyond that. I saw damon going nuts on some show about u need to be ur own boss. Yes that is ideal but if u start from nowhere u have to have a boss to become the boss. He was running drugs or errands for Harlem drug lords to make his money . I'd say that drug lord was his boss. Him going on about his son & his cookies came from having a father with money & from something I saw recently he has a bad relationship with that son yelling at him " I'm not your daddy " & the son was like " um you actually are my dad " the way damon acts I cant see how he could be partners with anyone.
