I'm not a fan of Cadillacs (recent ones anyways) but I like this a lot. And a great interview. I like the nod to the EV-1 as I worked for the company that made the battery pack, Ovonic. Jay mentions the success of the Prius. There was a huge lawsuit between Ovonic and Toyota over tech designs of the NiMH battery that was used in the development of the Prius. The court finally decided upon a Solomonesque judgement in the form of a tech sharing arrangement. Ovonic turned down the opportunity to gain Toyotas knowledge out of sheer arrogance. Guess which company is still around? Ovonic went on to become Cobasys which went on to become Bosch Battery Systems, producer of the battery pack for many ill fated cars including the Fiat 500e. Bosch closed the plant in 2019.

That caddy is sweet. If Tesla’s QC and build quality was on par with this, they’d be untouchable.

It is great to see a E-Cadillac that will be a great success in the marketplace. Having an engineer demo a car is much better than some Marketing hack.

I like this. Elevating the brand!! Inspiration begets dedication. I’m seriously watching and have to decide whether to buy a starter EV or jump all the way in. Lyriq is impressive to me. The company/brand is coming to life again!

I started with a Kia ev6 for the same reason now I’m all in with a 2023 cadillac lyriq me personally I don’t mind the original door handles the ev6 I had presented the handles but I felt like I or my passengers would break them

Absolutely the nicest looking EV I’ve seen. Drop an LS in it and I’m in.
@AaronD12a2 жыл бұрын
You want a *slower* car? The dual-motor Caddy will definitely be faster than any LS you could throw into this car. Why? Instant torque and AWD.
@Andy.H.H.2 жыл бұрын
Nice looking car. I would certainly consider this but, it's already sold out on the Cadillac website. Only option is to pre-order a 2024 but, no specifics listed yet.

I've had 2 Chevy Bolts that were fantastic. Saw the Lyriq and fell in love. This is a grand slam home run for Cadillac. With Tesla charger availability coming soon, it's a winner!

I love the Tesla, but with no dealerships anywhere near me, or real support from the other EVs, but WOW--this Cadillac is an amazing bargain compared to Tesla and the others and a Cadillac dealership is right by my house!!

I would still like to have a rear window wiper for pulling out of a parking spot when it's raining, has recently rained, when there is morning dew or in stop and go traffic.

You can have display rear view mirror and rear view camera in Lyriq. Camera view is so much better to use for parking.

Cadillac has a winner here! Especially the price compared to the competition for what you get!
