Collagen is rich in some amino acids like glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline, but its lack of tryptophan means it does not meet the criteria for a complete protein. So you can take it to help with skin, joints, and bone health, but in order to promote muscle synthesis it is best coupled with another protien source that contains tryptophan.
