What salt in what wound? Credit for finishing, but all this did was prove the Punk detractors right when they said he'd be hurt again within months of signing in WWE. It also justifies the Bucks fans with Tony's decision to get rid of Punk instead of them, because they aren't out injured.

The thing about the 80s--at least when I watched back then: Almost all of the TV shows were 85% "real wrestler" vs jobber. When Iron Mike Sharpe takes on Johnny Russell, Iron Mike looks like a badass. So when we FINALLY saw a bunch of established guys actually wrestle each other, we'd go crazy.
@KomradeKrusher
@KomradeKrusher 11 ай бұрын
Exactly. Since the late 90s, you regularly get PPV caliber matches on TV, and it comes with some expected staleness if the same people face each other on PPV who have been squaring up for the past four weeks already. And they have another program together every other year.
@mr.green2341
@mr.green2341 11 ай бұрын
@@KomradeKrusherYeah, one of the downsides to the Monday Night Wars that has remained ever since those were finished. PPV caliber main events on Raw or Smackdown, making them feel less special on the PPVs. I guess at least we don’t see the immediate title rematches from a PPV on Raw like they did back in those days.

They are talking about once he is up to speed and bouncing back and forth from side to side, its easily possible for him to be doing those kinds of speeds over short bursts. Especially with the ring ropes to push off, you can get a seriously good launch from those things. Usain Bolt topped out at nearly 30mph for brief periods, you just can't keep that up for an entire 100m. Averaging 23mph over 100m means that you are doing more than 23mph for most of it, due to starting from 0.

Punk saying that to Cody was almost akin to when Cena went to mock The Rock with an attempted People’s Elbow before that cost him in their first match. Not so much foreshadowing a heel turn, but more an overzealous misstep by a face against a bigger face. Alas, anything they may have been foreshadowing with that has been derailed with Punk’s tricep injury.

I was disappointed with this rumble, because l got badly carried away and convinced myself we were getting JOHN CENA, THE ROCK, STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN, BROCK LESNAR, BIG E, SHEAMUS, REY and BRAUN STROWMAN ha ha! That was probably way too optimistic, and obviously Lesnar is now GONE, but there were still way too many Raw lower mid carders who did nothing but make up the numbers, when they could have put out an all star cast that could have threaded together the rumble all the way through. That said it was a good ending, with an incredible effort by C M Punk to see the match through, l had no idea he was badly injured.

It was a very boring Royal Rumble show. Logan Paul vs KO was decent but Logan needs to work on his selling. The last part of the Rumble with Gunther, Punk, Cody, and McIntyre was okay in terms of at least having some stars in the match but none of these midcarders and lower card people have any charisma and offer anything to make us want to care about them. Bronson Reed, Ivar, Ricochet, JD, and plenty more=boring or nothing going on to make us care (R Truth is the only thing making Judgement Day interesting)

Lawler being on commentary and getting a spot in the Royal Rumble in the past was great because he was on commentary and acted like he had it planned and was coming in at a good spot when some of the guys were down or tired and he was being cocky about it and when he came in, he got dumped back out. I thought that worked well. The spot with Pat McAfee was stupid. They should've just had him be #30, then he could've made a big deal about his chances winning it and been all excited and then he could've gone in and then got eliminated super quick. The comedy spot with R Truth throwing JD in after Bron attacked him and getting eliminated quick was funny though

I hate when I hear the excuse that fans don’t care about these guys now but in rumbles in the past fans cared more. Bull s$$t. Has anyone tried watching the rumbles from the 90s and even early to mid 2000s? As much as people talk about 92 rumble, no one in the knickerbocker arena gave 2 craps when Haku, Jerry saggs, the barbarian, col. Mustafa, Greg Valentine, the berzerker, skinner, Rick Martel, nickoli volkoff, and Hercules came out. That crowd was dead. When I’ve watched rumbles of the 90s and dory funk, dick Murdoch, kwang , Saba simba, aldo Montoya, samu of the head shrinkers, Jacob and Eli blue, duke the dumpster, sparky plugg, those two Abdullah the butcher dollar store rip offs in the 96 rumble, that Japanese wrestler who dressed in white with all the fake tattoos covering him, the smoking guns, and so on and so on, Nobody cared. Almost every rumble has points where the crowd is dead. Not every rumble is gonna be 2020 where you are curious who is coming out next to face Brock. And where it seemed everyone who came out were either a giant in size, or had history with Brock. The bigger issue in my opinion is at least for me, I knew from the beginning it was going to come down to punk and Cody. Therefore unless it’s a comedic spot, a surprise entry, or someone being extremely dominant, I found myself just waiting for both punk and Cody to enter.
