Went Turkey hunting in Velma Oklahoma with some friends a few years ago. They knew Joe's mom and she was still in the old home place. We were welcomed over to fish in their pond. The whole time all I could think about was Joe's hit song "Home". Although Joe didn't right the song it was no doubt such a hit due to the heartfelt passion that Joe put into it. I'll always believe the "Swimming hole and a fishing pole and the feel of a muddy road between my toes" took Joe back to the very place I stood in April of 2018. Although I never met the Legend, I'll always be thankful for the time I walked in his shoes and saw what he saw. And now when I hear that song I have two homes to reminisce about.

Instead of spending millions of dollars trying to fix other countries problems we need to focus more on the many homeless and "insane locked up in themselves" veterans right here in America first. I wrote the comment below several years ago and here I am back again to listen to this beautiful song after hearing that Joe Diffie passed away. My heart is so sad right now. I grew up listening to him when I was first discovering my love of country music in the early 90s. I was 10, 11 years old and it was the perfect time for country music. I can't believe this horrible virus has taken him away. I pray for his family at this difficult time. I hope many ships came in for Joe Diffie during his lifetime and now he has sailed and made the last journey home. Thank you for the music. We will love and miss you always.

Had an online memory pop up today of an old friend who had lost his way and ultimately lost his life about 18 months ago. The memory was of a happier time with his family before he became estranged from them. I couldn't help but think of this song... measure your sorrows and recognize your blessings, because so many others are swallowed up in waters beyond their control. RIP B.

This simple song and this tragic loss due to a virus just reminds us of the game of life we are all still playing. This shouldn't have happened. R.I.H Mr. Diffie.

This song was just playing on the radio. I thought it was Joe Diffie, but I wasn't sure. I loved it as a teen who knew everything. I love it as an adult who knows absolutely nothing. I still can't believe you've left us. RIP.
