Thanks, as an incel with a wife and five kids. It's nice to know Hollywood hates me.

Lol I'm married and get called an incel too sometimes in comments

I feel like Todd Phillips self sabotage in order to prevent more Joker sequels being made 🤷♂️
@filthycasual692 ай бұрын
It's so bad that it actually seems like a reasonable explanation which is crazy
@MrDivineFur2 ай бұрын
@@filthycasual69 maybe it was getting the matrix treatment. The studio wanted another movie and it was either with or without Todd Phillips. Studios want IPs that work
@filthycasual692 ай бұрын
I said that exact same thing in another comment. It's one of the only sequels I've felt like was just pure spite by the original creator. The matrix at least felt more directed at the studio though than the fans as bad as it was
@MrDivineFur2 ай бұрын
@@filthycasual69 I heard they left him to make the movie without any studio involvement. No test screenings either

I thought I saw something about that too. Wild. He won't have that much freedom again I suspect lol

Instead of a "passion project", this just sounds like a "spite project"; as in out of spite for the audience, the character, and the success and love for the first one Stripping the ambiguity of the first one, making a sequel as a musical, the...'degrading' of Arthur in the prison, the usage of a certain line at the end of the movie, and yeah: the end of the movie. We've had plenty of superhero movies lately that have had an actor/actress or a scene backhand certain demographics, but a whole movie designed strip away what people liked about a previous film? It's almost like we've come full circle and the audience is Arthur getting ambushed and beaten up at the beginning of the first film. 🤷♂
@filthycasual692 ай бұрын
I think that's a good summary. I cant think of anything like this except for maybe Matrix resurrection. Even that was more spite for the corporation though than the audience from what I remember.

I haven't seen either movie. I heard the first one was very good though
@filthycasual692 ай бұрын
First one is definitely very good. I'd say you need to be in a serious mood to watch it though. Not really a super fun or lighthearted movie
@chrisdavey55302 ай бұрын
So now that ive watched this shitshow at the fuckfactory, it was nice to see the whole thing didnt just revolve around lady gaga as harley.....instead it was worse in ever other conceivable way lol. for starters everyone was right, the musical numbers are ass and just slow the plot to a crawl, the she-hulk level courtroom drama meshes exactly as well as you think it would with a musical ie not at all, then the "crescendo" of the film, joker gets: ganged, admits defeat, loses the girl and gets shanked, its like some sick weirdo (likely named Todd) watched "i spit on your grave/The last house on the left" but was like "I only really liked the first half of those movies" completely forgetting 2 important things, first is grape and revenge, without the revenge its basically just a bad fetishpornog, second and much more importantly no one is into male grape lol

Lol yea this pretty much sums up how I feel and what seems to be the consensus generally

@@filthycasual69 im personally starting to believe the rumors these (this/acolyte/agatha) are all money laundering projects. I actually talked to a business guy and even he was like, they have to know this is not fiscally responsible at this point, no amount of investment from blackrock could be covering these kinds of losses, he was basically of the idea, the actual people in charge cant be this willing to die on this hill and there has to be something going on to recoup these losses, you dont lose this kind of money and not have either: massive firings/layoffs, a change in business strategy (clearly not happening) or some kind of liquidation.

Wouldn't be surprised at all. Especially when you pay attention a couple years later and the budgets are actually 10s to 100s of millions more

It really does make you wonder did he just get lucky and make a good movie but that also doesn't seem likely.

@@filthycasual69 I highly suspect something is afoot here. This dude made a damn good movie and then turned around and graped it to death by way of sequel. Why, Todd, why? Either that man is monster engaging in a massive troll effort, or someone got to him, in... some way.

I really think he is ashamed of the first one because of who he imagines enjoyed it and felt obligated to correct it
@kaiju1152 ай бұрын
I never was a fan of the first movie, mainly because I never liked the idea of a Joker Origin story, I always preferred the less we know about Joker, the better, one of the many reasons why I still prefer Heath Ledger’s Joker. That aside, I knew this movie was gonna suck the moment they announced it was gonna be a musical with Lady Gaga aka Pterodactyl Face, and that’s an insult to Pterosaurs
@filthycasual692 ай бұрын
Lol poor pterodactyls. I heard a lot of that similar sentiment about a joker origin. I think since Phillips said that it was only called joker to get funding most people just disassociate it with the comics. Especially after the end of this movie. But I think the lady gaga musical idea could've worked if it was zany instead of a miserable slog
@lukaszzylik44372 ай бұрын
Sounds awesome. Ill probably watch it. Any movie that pisses off and offends right wing snowflakes is awesome to me. But these days right wingers freak the fuck out whenever a new Disney movie comes out so its not that hard to trigger people who really want to be victims.
@filthycasual692 ай бұрын
Go for it. They could use the money. Lol. I'd be surprised if even the people who like this ever watch it more than once though. Just a boring, miserable slog of a movie

LOL Wow, so your reaction is to show MORE leftist spite? At least we know what kind of nuts you're suckling on. FWIW I don't think this guy was being "right wing" at all by calling out the obvious and overt leftist agenda behind this hate-fest, just not a total douchebag like every leftist that ever touched a keyboard or made a movie. Have fun punishing yourself by watching this total cinematic garbage fire, you beautiful winner, you.
