Johna has had such a long journey. As a nurse, a mom, and a fellow hip patient....he deserves a lot of praise. Two recommendations. One keeps your knee turned out further than than your heel. Second, form and function. Use the leg as you would if you were walking. You will improve function sooner and create less scar tissue. Best of luck! On the rest of the family, they are all stellar. Such great teamwork getting it all done. Each of the young men and the young woman work so much harder than the average child. They are so advanced in their abilities and critical thinking. It's such a joy to watch! God bless you all with health and continued good fortune.

I understand what you are going through because I go through the same thing. I want to say that your feelings are valid and are to be expected. We are the same age and I swore up and down that I am coming down with the same mental illness as my mother. But you know what, I took a deep breath, I mean I really started focusing on my breathing. Then I realized that I am not the same person as last year or before that. I have come into a new era. So I say bring on the hot flash the mood swings and the crazy appetite. Hell I even welcome the 4 hours of sleep, wake up then take a mid-day nap. Keeping our anxiety is a must at our age. And believe you me my beautiful sista it ain't always you neither. Sometimes folks will steal your joy because they want to keep you in the spot where they want you for their benefit! Again, we kinda in the same boat. I think God has heard your cries and he knows your heart and he will make the way for you to get back to your happiness even if that means removing some folks out of the way. Sis, you got this, you know God has you, all he doing is waiting on you to except all that He's already planned for you. He is using you in more ways. You have been an enlightenment every since I came across your channel and I pray that you take the joy that you have given us viewers and keep it for yourself cause you deserve it and God has already promised it to you. ❤😊

DO NOT HAVE JONAH PUT WEIGHT ON THE LEG UNTIL HIS DOCTOR SAYS TO. Just remember it’s his future. A whole body or a lost leg. Don’t PUSH him!

I had hip replacement surgery three weeks ago was full weight bearing day of surgery using a walker, doing my daily exercises and short walks. I don't understand why Jonah is not full weight bearing. He should follow the routine he was given by physio before leaving the hospital not anyone else.
@daydreambeliever6603
@daydreambeliever6603 Жыл бұрын
@@mariadelaney7179 because the injury that he had and the subsequent treatment he received allowed the head of the femur to die and leave very fragile and diminished bone. The ball was over 1/2 dead and gone. It was not like he had arthritis and just the wearing away of the cushioning part from arthritis was all that was wrong. His joint was destroyed. Anyway, he won’t or shouldn’t be totally weight bearing for some time because he has more healing he needs to do first. And it is imperative that he follow his doctors orders to the letter.

I know that recovery is tough, but those crutches used throughout the day will strengthen Jonah’s body. Four weeks of laying down will cause more muscle mass loss. In a few days y’all should map out a small area so that Jonah can get some walks in (with the crutches, naturally and only toe pressure on the surgery side). Hoping and praying for a speedy recovery for Jonah!

I had to put weight on my hip right away in the hospital. Had me up walking in hall with in 4 hours. So I feel like it is so important to get moving. In two weeks I was not using the walker ,only a cane and at about 5 weeks nothing at all. Hope you have good PT. The exercises are really helpful. I thought I would be limited in things but nope , I had no restrictions at all from the beginning. Took a total if 2 pain pills the 1st Day. But tylenol seemed to be all I needed. I was almost 67 when I had my left hip replaced. It was best thing I ever did. Wishing you all the luck with this and Pray it relieves all pain.

Try melting non-lead plumbing solder for casting stuff with. It's kind of expensive, but easy to work with. My kids used to make a playdough mold of something, like a plastic soldier or animal, then make a plaster of paris two-part mold from that, and cast metal toys. Lead, of course, melts great, but is way too toxic, and you can't really play with the things you make. If you work outside in the open air, the plumbing solder is pretty benign, and you can handle it after with no toxic issues.

I'm glad Jonah is home from surgery. Please don't pressure him, slow and steady will provide the best results. Please monitor his temperature morning and night as infection can creep in with no warning. A helpful tip, remember you are documenting this as a KZbinr which is evidence of your family life and the words "I messed up" and the nonchalant comments are not helpful or necessary. ? Is the cupping beneficial at this point or is it an excuse at Jonah's expense. I'd ask Jonah if he feels like it is helping and stress that you are asking for his genuine opinion. He is becoming a young man, hopefully not a Mamma's Boy, in my opinion. Physical Therapy exercises are the priority while healing for 4 weeks. Let Jonah become the Man he is destined to be!

You are going to be in the same boat if Jonah doesn't get proper instructions from a physical therapist instead of Justin trying to get him to put weight on his leg, his leg won't heal properly. The first two weeks are so important for the bone to start knitting cell growth onto the replacement shank of the new hip joint. Everytime he puts weight down will rip it all apart. And guess what, it won't heal, just like when you were trying to get him to walk, walk, walk after he first hurt it. Time, just calm and give it time.

"Just a farmer" you said, and I laughed cause I knew all the things that farmers must be able to do. They must study the land, then watch the sky and figure just when is the right time and why. To sow and to plant, to buy and to sell, to go to the market with cattle and well, you know the books that farmers must keep to pay all those taxes and be able to sleep. And you know the fixin' that farmers must do when machines like mad monsters blow a gasket or two. @@Miguel195211 I don't know why you are watching this because you obviously are not seeing the real picture. Justin's family and others like them are changing the face of the family farm, not just in the US but pretty much the whole world. They are trying new ways of raising animals in a more humane way and tying together each part of the farm to work together. If anyone is just starting out and watching this channel, The Hollar Homestead, and Sow the Land, you will learn so many innovative ways to live efficiently and enjoyably on your homestead. If you have any insight at all in the way the world is going, you will see that theirs is the best way to prepare for the future for your family. i don't know if the nurse told you when you take Oxycodone for even one time you need to mix some organic psyllium husk (better to mix than powdered)& mix it in some liquid like soup or my favorite milk, yogurt or Kefir(the best!) you can mix with flavored electrolytes makes a kind of pudding. Otherwise ya can get clogged up for a min. If he eats fiber from veggies also helpful, that will bring back the appetite faster until he can move about which is helps so much. the Oxy slows down the GI tract, yes even a few doses. I hope things move along real fast as he heals up. WE are so relieved this was finally accomplished, can't wait!! the family is in great spirits as the house comes together bit by bit!!
