Two years after the release of his highly successful album Dolce Vita, Jonas Kaufmann reaffirmed his love affair with Italian music with a special concert at the Waldbühne - Berlin’s renowned stage-beneath-the-stars. In what can be seen as a wondrous zenith of his dedication to Italy and her music, the concert has become one of this year’s biggest classical music events. Sony Classical is proud to announce the release of the magical concert on DVD, Blu-ray, CD.

When he sang the same piece at The Proms in London the audience restrained from clapping until the music had actually finished - a compliment to Turandot. Kaufmann certainly knew then that he'd "nailed it" but he had to wait for the appreciation.

One can know the music but only a true artist makes the connection: on one side is the knowledge of the music and on the other side is the drama, what the composer is saying. In the middle is the artist who must connect with composer's intent, the connection to the audience and the courage of that musician to stand on a stage and say, "This is what I have to give you.
