Yup no idea where that Frank guy is coming from with that? Is he gonna be a recurring guest cause that would be clearly a mistake. Jordan and Conan is such a dynamic comedy duo already, there no need for a third wheel even from Sonna and Matt who normally add so much to Conan comedy. Maybe put this Frank guy alone with Conan cause he stuck his nose in 3 times during the video and each time it add nothing and just interupt a unique and funny relationship between Conan and Jordan. Like both of them have to tell him to shut up in the end, and just let this beautiful conversation run its course.

Conan is very serious -- about comedy. I truly believe Conan's "normal" is when he's most revelling in an absurd comedic premise and taking it as far as it can go. Many comedians / entertainers put on a persona when they perform and then go back to "normal" in private. Conan seems to just be the exact same guy in his private life as he is on stage.
@baltimorebjj
@baltimorebjj 22 күн бұрын
@@tomoakley760 Hard to know really because we can never really see Conan "in private". He is just one of the greatest conversational comics of all time, and anyone interacting with him gets drawn into it. We of course see the recorded bits that are released. He will of course snap out of it to have real conversations, but he sees so many openings for jokes, and for the most part people want him to do it, so its tolerated and even encouraged.

More than once now, Jordan’s entertaining monologue has been interrupted by accusations that he’s putting the audience to sleep. I get Frank is trying to play the goalie and save the audience from getting bored, but for gods sake, Jordan went on a 20 minute rant about toilet paper, and it was one of my favourite episodes ever. Jordan always manages to balance quantity with quality. The man can do no wrong.

I love that these two wonderful people stuck together for so long. It may seem like they don't really like each other, but every conversation they have reveals something new and interesting through the way they interweave humor (Jordan's dry ironic one and Conan's goofy but well timed jokes) and subtle depth.

Jordon's hat reminds me of Pagliacci, an iconic figure and titular character in the classic Italian opera by librettist Ruggero Leoncavallo.

So far, the most serious I've ever seen Conan is either on the remote episode when he goes to Armenia with Sona and they visit the war museum and Sona starts crying, and a podcast episode where Sona talks about Conan's self distructive habits and a moment Conan said he felt sad and sorry for himself. But if that's the extent of his sadness / seriousness, then he is a really unusual person, because even in those few moments he still makes jokes. I've long, long wondered what he talks about to his therapist, whether is he truly 'real' with him / her, or is he still cracking jokes even while he talks through his pain.

"Curse? Curse? Blessing I day!" 😂😂😂😂😂 The skill to turn ANYTHING into a funny joke! ANYTHING! Our dear Robin Williams had lighting speed thinking for jokes and had that skill too: anything could become a joke! The guy was a monster. But Conan is very close to Robin if not on the same level. They have different training and different delivery styles, of course. It is a blessing. What a treat to have Jordan again in the podcast! These two together rock! ❤

I really believe the main reason why Conan is so insanely quick with his comebacks and amazingly random riffs is because he does bits all the time even off camera. We often think in retrospect ‘I should have said that’ long after a conversation/banter is over. With Conan, he probably has like 10 different smart comebacks/wits ready for any conversation because it’s right at the surface of his brain. Another reason should be him constantly writing and doodling.

I secretly think he’s patronizing Jordan for asking a vulnerable question and instead of being honest he’s making Jordan look like a shmuck, and Conan look impervious to all things. Which is their bit. The best part is, you can tend to know Conan is putting it on, but I genuinely think Jordan honestly believes Conan.
