It’s nice to hear a bit about what you’ve been doing. You have such a unique and special ballet story-the Russia connection, different places you’ve danced, competitions, roles you’ve had, etc, etc.-that I hope you will continue KZbin so we can continue to watch you evolve. Clicked so fast! I've always found you to have an incredibly adaptable, driven, dedicated personality. I always wondered "what was next" for you as my life is the same way - I can guarantee you I'm never in the same creative space or physical location 18 months later. Project after project, searching - tasting all the ways to play and also try to help others. It's an important model for this generation. Very few will settle into their company and title until retirement, or even for a few steady years, until MUCH later. New norm, and it makes us all more compassionate and community-based artists. xo

I wish you the best, Joy. You have a major attribute of relentless tenacity through ups and downs. I believe, from what I can gather about your new journey, that you are on the right path with the potential to land more comfortably than many dancers. You are laying a firm outline and foundation for the future. Meanwhile, I am curious. I have asked this question before but you have not responded - and perhaps are not in a position to do so. Why do you leave the Astrakhan Ballet out of your bio? It seemed to be such a good fit for you, and you appeared to have had a very successful time there? Good luck with your new endeavors. It is always tough and scary to change a life's path, but something we all need the courage to face at different times. A tough road, whether its for profit or non-profit. Each has its positives and negatives. Times are difficult in the West right now, with people struggling to survive, so donations will take some innovative strategies - stay strong. By the way, among your top talents, other than dance, are photography (and posing - you are extremely photogenic).
