Dan - I start every morning “with you” now! I joined the JRD Community to “get ready” for my 60th which was Dec 2023! Had 3 goals 1. Get back to my college weight (had to drop 20lbs), 2. Be able to complete a minimum of 1 pull-up in perfect form, 3.Jumprope - be able to do a 30 minute jump rope workout. So KZbin led me to your channel, bought the Crossrope Get Lean Set & signed up for your app and stuck with the 4 week workout plans. By Dec I had checked off each goal! THANK YOU for Doing The Thing and inspiring me to do my thing! 💪🏽 Just finishing the JR + Dumbbell 90-Day program too, LOVE it! Important to note too, over the course of my 60 years I’ve had 3 knee surgeries (meniscal tears) and in 2018 had a major procedure on my right ankle (osteochondral lesion, etc…the entire cartilage of the ankle was detached) & in the beginning of 2023, I could not even hop 1x on my right leg. Keep doing what you’re doing Dan, you’ve helped to make an amazing difference in my quality of life & I really appreciate it🙏🏽

Hi Dan, great idea, especially for old fogeys like me (soon to be 69). Even though I have a subscription for the Jump Rope and Dumbbell program (which is great!), this is still useful. I can do it two to three times if I want. On a side note, I saw a guy with Crossropes (1/4lb, 1/2lb and 1lb) in the New York Sports Club as I was leaving my spin/cycling class. I asked him if he heard about JRD and he said he didn't. I told him you to check you out on KZbin and mentioned the JR and DB program. He said he'll definitely check it out. Steve.

Hooray! Let’s hear it for us senior citizen jump ropers! I started jumping rope in my late 50s and never stopped. Now in my mid 60s I keep improving and getting stronger - while many of my contemporaries are experiencing the opposite. If you want to grow your fitness and continue to improve, just jump rope!

In my experience as an old man who does jump rope, but feels like I need a walker sometimes… I have found that it’s all about the sleep. I pretty much jump rope two days on one day off is the way it all comes out to but getting that sleep is the number one thing and if I don’t get it, I don’t even bother with the jump rope because my body starts breaking. I know if I’m pushing it too hard quickly because my old man body starts hurting bad in the joints. Get that sleep old folks.

I am 59 and started jumping rope (again) at the beginning of February this year. I jumped rope as a young man in the merchant navy but I haven't done any 'deliberate' exercise for 20 years. I chose to stop driving around 4 years ago, so I walk and carry shopping regularly. I wasn't concerned about my weight (I am overweight but everyone my age is fat), but I was more concerned about my endurance and flexibility in my twilight years. The goal was to have stamina to run for 30 minutes and touch toes with straight legs. I started with 10 minutes of 30 seconds on, 10 seconds off. I messed up a lot, so I got enough 'extra rest' to complete the 10 minutes. I didn't get a medical before starting, so I listened closely to body and kept my ego in check. I jumped every other day. On the 19th, I started increasing the time and was doing 15 minutes by the end on Feb. I missed 6 skipping days in Feb. I'm up to 20 minutes on the 15th March. But that comes with its own problems, because now my skipping is better, I don't get as many 'extra' breaks like in Feb! I haven't decided if to go 45 seconds on, 15 off for April, or increase 30-on 10-off to 25 minutes. Maybe I'll do both and keep my muscles and lungs guessing. I am also struggling with a push up challenge on the days I don't jump rope. That isn't improving as quickly. For the record, I look different in the mirror and some of my clothes feel really baggy. I'm glad I don't have a scale in the house because my training is about stamina, not appearance. But I am curious

Daaaaan! I've got mad respect for you and I love your videos but I'm a bit low-key offended by your aged pic for this video 🤣. I'm 52, been jumping rope for 3 or so years and look nothing close to that picture (people mistake me for being in my 30s). "Middle age" doesn't mean going gently into the good night. 🤣Let's shoot for the energy and vibe of that awesome 80 year old hottie in your last video. This video was fun though -- I used it as finisher for a more intense jump rope workout. And I have a feeling that when you're in your 50s you're not going to look anything like that photo in the beginning. Jump rope is life!
