I agree with your philosphy re jumping. I think the boxer moves and variations are enough for most people for fitness and the mental challenge. Maybe add the heel-toe move. I think you can move to the next level by making combos with your existing reptoire. You've done some with with Rush but not so much technique; that would be interesting. Definately Tori Boggs for combos.

You don’t have to explain yourself. Your niche is to the general public and is relatable and obtainable. General fitness and preparedness is where it is at for 99% of the population. Very few have the time and energy to practice those skill sets. Don’t get me wrong they are super cool. But your educational material is achievable and your story is one that is attainable for most humans. Keep doing what you are doing!

Nope, no need for tricks here. Your answer was perfect- correct form and intensity for weight loss and endurance. I actually feel you lose both those elements when you're constantly working on tricks. I'd rather jump rope objectively everyday for the purposes of fitness and that can be achieved with the basics. Personally, I'd like to progress to skipping longer periods and introducing more high intensity intervals, including weighted jumps. Love this channel!!!

I have been dancing with a rope for 14 years and i know at least a dozen tricks so far. Its called practice and consistency regardless of how difficult the trick is some tricks took me at least a month to get right. It all depends on how bad you want it but to me jump rope is all about endurance, timing, footwork, coordination, rhythm and so on tricks are just a bonus. And most people out there who do fancy tricks just love to show off i highly doubt any of them can dance with a rope for a hour or longer which is jump ropes true strength. - That is just my two cents on this subject

I have no interest in advanced tricks like wraps, mike releases and flips/tumbles etc. I do strive for the intermediate level stuff. Crosses, EB, side-swings and footwork. I think more combos within workouts would be good. Tori Boggs would be a great person for you to collaborate with in my opinion. She has a combo with x-jacks, high-knee offstep and running man that I've been struggling with. A southpaw combo with various crosses and side-swings would be cool. Something normal people could really develop a flow with...

You are a big guy, all tricks that Lauren and her ilk are doing are very hard on joints. I am a male, 45-50 pounds lighter than you and have been a runner for years and yet some of the shuffle dance moves she does really make my body hurt afterwards. But it's def fun and forces your brain to work harder to coordinate all body movements that go into one cool looking trick. I think you already can do all of the stuff that really counts and makes you a proficient jump skipper. Leave the weird injury-causing moves to people half your size. 😀
