Spinosaurus was designed to eat fish, which is why it has the elongated jaw, it usually walked on all fours, didn't have close to the bite force of a Tyrannosaurus Rex, had a smaller brain, poorer eyesight it wasn't as muscular and it lacked the hunting instinct of a T. Rex since it mainly ate fish.

I call bull shit on saying the CGI looked bad. I saw the movie for myself and I can say for a fact that the CGI is not horrible. EDIT: Okay, to get more detailed with it. I would agree that it doesn't look real. That's not the argument. The argument is that the CGI is not horrible. The effects in Avatar don't look real, but that doesn't make them any less amazing. It's beautiful to look at. Same goes for Jurassic World. The illusion of the original film is lost. The dinosaurs don't have weight to them, move too fast, and don't act like animals so they don't blend in realistically with the actors or environment. But the creations are still very detailed and great to look at. And seeing how the movie is fun the effects still work to the films advantage.

"If you have a dude and a chick in a movie, they don't always have to hook up. If you have a romance, great, but it's not like a checklist." THANK YOU! I can't stand it in films when a so-called couple is established in a movie just because the screenwriter/producers think they need a romance in the story.
@mastermarkus5307
@mastermarkus5307 9 жыл бұрын
TheaterRaven That's kind of funny to me, considering that the Jurassic Park novel did not originally have Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler in a relationship, but perhaps because the film started with them already somewhat romantically involved (rather than having to build it up from "we just know each other" or anything), the romance wasn't overly jarring in the film.

Like maybe his arm is amputated, and he's become a bada** at fighting dinosaurs, and he's lived in the old park for years, and like he teaches the kids how to fight, and then he goes with the kids to save Chris Pratt. @@jaycraw6978 T. Rex walks as fast as Usain Bolt sprints. But it’s unlikely a Tyrannosaurus would find humans appealing to eat, I feel as though it’d be a similar situation to how sharks treat humans when mistaking them for food: way too bony, too much iron in the blood, not near enough meat to make for an appetizing meal. Tyrannosaurus's iron stomach be damned, it’d only go after us if it was starving, and even then, it’d likely try to find an easier meal then one that doesn’t take kindly to being eaten and happens to have opposable thumbs.

@DeadmanInc336
@DeadmanInc336 8 жыл бұрын
+Matthew Gray I don't think they realized that when they gave it Cuttlefish DNA to reduce the accelerated growth rate, they also gave it it's camoflauging capabilities. Kinda like how when they gave it frog DNA so it can survive in a tropical environment, they didn't realize they also gave it the ability to control it's body heat which is why it avoided thermal detection. So I don't think they intended for it to be able to use camouflage and control it's body heat. They just needed the DNA to fill in the gaps for their needs. They didn't account for the characteristics that came with said DNA.

Copyright dodge? CLEVER GIRL......or critic XD BTW they made the Coke2 dino such an unstoppable weapon, cos Doctor Wu, was doing a denis nedry and secretly working for Kingpin. And using the chance to engineer a new dino, to make a prototype for what Kingpin wanted. That's why it was kept secret what was in it, and why the Indian guy was shocked to learn what it could do. Indian guy goes to Dr Wu and says "Hey, give us a new dino, make it bigger with more teeth" Dr Wu thinks to himself "I can use this chance to make a prototype dino weapon for kingpin. I just better not let the boss know what Im really doing" Then when Indian guy seen the Coke2 use its extra abilities, he goes back to Dr Wu and says "This isn't what I told u too make! Whats in that thing?!" It was all explained in that scene where the two of them talk over tea. So it is all explained.

When Captain Kirk says "Go to warp 9" does he personally run down to engineering and carefully watch as Scotty does it??? Of course not! Scotty is the head of engineering. And Dr Wu is the head of the dino cloning.

I did find it really amusing when the Indominus rex started to "Negotiate" with the other raptors.. like they were having a meeting. I havta wonder what he was saying.. maybe like "Hey if you help me kill these mooks, they'll be stock options for you guys in the future" Raptors "OOoooo stock options! You got a deal!" Also the part where the one raptor gets blown up by a rocket, while having a tender moment with Chris Prat was freaking hilarious.. me and my friend actually LoL in the theater.

Well, I feel like I must address this. The Indominus Rex is NOT just a "big raptor." The only raptor part is her intelligence. She has the base body of the T Rex, the horns and protection of a Cartonosaurus, the arms of a Therizenosaurus, the size of a Gigantosaurus, the head (and possibly cannibalistic feature) of a Majungasaurus, and the body spikes of a Rugops. They even added Cuttlefish for the camouflage, tree frogs for changing body temperature, and pit vipers for night vision. Also, they called it the Indominus Rex because it meant Fierce or Untamable in Latin. NOTE: I may have gotten the dino stuff mixed up about the I Rex's features.

Clark Griswold I agree. Besides. It's no secret that the Critic/Doug Walker has a very poor track record when It comes to animals. Did you really expect him to be any good with prehistoric animals? Hell, the main dinosaur from the sequel is called the INDO-RAPTOR and it is basically what the critic describes here. It's almost as if they did that to make fun of people like him. I'm surprised no one else has pointed this out.

Joe Coin That's what your questioning? How can a girl in heels outrun a T-Rex? Shouldn't you be asking how can ANYONE outrun a T-Rex? I mean back in the first movie, it was clearly established that a T-Rex can run as fast as a car can at full speed, so it should be able to outrun any human quite easily. Granted, we're also talking about a franchise that sucks when it comes to sticking to continuity but still. lol

The entire plot starter (where the park is supposedly losing revenue because people have become "bored" with dinosaurs) is absolute utter bull shit. I'm from Florida, the land of amusement parks, and I can tell you right now some parks that have thrived in worse conditions 1.) Sea World- Good God, Sea World. Even with the Black Fish scandal they're still open and JUST NOW thinking of closing the Orca shows 2.) Busch Gardens- A wonderful balance between Thrill Rides and Safari animals, this theme park has been open since the 70's, and *knock on wood* it's not going anywhere anytime soon 3.) Disney World- Now granted, these five-parks-in-one's success has been supplemented with the immensely popular Disney movies, but, aside from aesthetic and the general feel-good power of Disney, these parks don't have much to offer 4.) Universal Studios and Island of Adventure- Supplemented by Universal's motion pictures, these two parks have amazing rides that put Sheikra to shame but, honestly, not much else And this movie is trying to tell me that a theme park filled with DINOSAURS is struggling to survive? Get real movie. The movie could have ended in 20 minutes if they simply decided to add a dinosaur-themed roller coaster

@AnOtherChoosenOne

Sean Fronteras That is kinda funny. I feel the same in reverse. The dying dino just looked so awkward to me. He made facial expressions that just looked unnatural when done by an animal. The fish dino was awesome to me, because when it jumped out to eat that shark, you could see deep inside his mouth and had this feeling like it is gonna gobble you up, too (well, not if you watch it in 2D). Idk, maybe I am just more used to CGI than to animatronics.Maybe that's why I think the CGI didn't look aweful, but amazing.

Eric King I dunno, it's got that cool scene in the grass and I'm a big fan of directing so some of the subtler qualities of having Spielberg behind the camera help a bit, 3 just feels cheap in comparison. Shadow Games No film background here, just some experience in CGI. Funny thing is, while I know exactly what NC is talking about (especially with the "enhancing" of an animatronic puppet with CGI (always a terrible idea)) he really is going out of his way to nitpick it. Yes, it's not as quite as it could be, but it did it's job quite well even if I do have to agree that it did cheapen some of those shots, especially the gyrosphere scene. That would have been far better off with animatronics. Heck I can point to where most of the CGI complaints come from: The Raptors. And you know which scenes I'm talking about too. The scenes with Chris Pratt training them which has the raptors standing still in broad daylight for extended periods of time. Now some of those were done using animatronics which were then "enhanced" with CGI which really only serves to ruin that "real" quality of having something there. There's just enough off to disconnect viewers and make them think "Something is not right here." And then there were utterly pointless uses of CGI "enhancing" animatronics like the scenes where the raptors heads were locked into place. However, these are relatively minor and didn't bother me too much over the course of the movie and I thoroughly enjoyed it in spite of that. NC is really making a mountain out of a molehill here. The most annoying part is his fanboy obsession with the Rex.

Ronan Slevin the fact that I was 5 when I saw Jurassic Park and believed it then at 22 I also believed it even knowing it was a fake (duh), but this made me feel like I was watching a computer animation made by freshman at MIT, it was good, but I could tell it was fake. Good CGI is only good if it makes it look real. Using CGI isn't wrong, but abusing it makes it really bad.

MrJustinArt It's because people are comparing it to the first Jurassic Park. They think of how real the dinosaurs looked in that movie, particularly for the time that movie came out, and are then disappointed when they are given CGI that is "kinda decent". And honestly, if you're gonna disagree with Nostalgia Critic on the quality of the effects of a movie, you might wanna say that the effects were more than "kinda decent". I mean, by saying the effects were kinda decent, you aren't exactly making me believe these effects are especially good lol.

Universe Well actually, despite what Critic says, the CGI was better then the first movies. The reason why people think its worst is because they used tricks to make the dinos look better like making it dark, raining, or they were behind things. In this movie its clearly day through out most of the film and they were everywhere and while you can notice it the CGI wasn't terrible at all and I was kinda impressed that they had the balls not to shy away from showing it off clearly as they did. The only thing better that was in the first one was the practical effects as they only used that stuff once or twice in the whole movie. The reason why they arent that great might be because they guy that used to do them is dead I think :T But ya, I'v heard the nostalgia glasses ( ha! ) argument used a lot to say the movies is bad for its CGI when it was actually well done. Would I have prefered practical effects be used more? Of course i would have, but as it is its a really great movie.

In the first movie I cared for both the dinosaurs and the human characters as they were what the first movie were about. TLW, JPIII, and JW are more about the dinosaurs and what to do with them. JW is mainly about the Indominus and Owen's raptors with the rest of the dinosaurs including Rexy (with the exception for the final showdown) for props. In the sequels, the only human characters I cared for were the returning characters (Grant, Malcolm, Ellie, Hammond) even if they had minor roles or cameos.
