Just for context, the war in Iraq that he refers to isn't the recent war in Iraq that we all know about. Since this standup special was in 1998, he would've instead referred to the Gulf War. That conflict only lasted for about a year ('90 to '91), so that's why he referred to it as quick.

I’m not sure how old you are but if you saw when that all happened, Rogan was a nobody in comedy. Carlos was the biggest comic with Dave gone. It hurt Rohan’s career for a while but he was defending others.
