Just for context, the war in Iraq that he refers to isn't the recent war in Iraq that we all know about. Since this standup special was in 1998, he would've instead referred to the Gulf War. That conflict only lasted for about a year ('90 to '91), so that's why he referred to it as quick.

I’m not sure how old you are but if you saw when that all happened, Rogan was a nobody in comedy. Carlos was the biggest comic with Dave gone. It hurt Rohan’s career for a while but he was defending others. Carlos stole jokes and then ruined their career if they did anything by getting them banned at clubs, which he claims he couldn’t do but bs. He could easily say it’s joe shmo or me. They’ll choose money. There’s a lot of evidence he stole jokes and even Bobby says that. He simply said he owes his career to him and he’s a nice guy and conflicted
