I buy fresh loose mushrooms and store them in the fridge using a paper bag. The bag comes from the store and says mushrooms. I also use a paper bag to dehydrate cut mushrooms in the fridge. Just slice them, bag them and forget them. When they are dry, I move them to a jar in the pantry. Use them in soups, stews and chilis.

I just came across your video and happened to have two containers of mushrooms so, I just moved them to a jar in the fridge. Thank you for this idea!😊

I loosely wrap each layer of mushrooms in paper towels. They keep for weeks. Ripe ones i slice and set on the counter until dried.

I like seeing the food also, less chance I miss it. I think I will try using the ring part of the lid screwed over a paper towel or brown paper from a bag. Thanks for this idea.

I just found your channel and am enjoying the information. My mother was a Cross before she married my father.❤️

oh that's neat, my mother in law used to be really into the family tree on Ancestry before she passed away but she had the family tree back for hundreds of years.

I love all your videos I share them with my daughter as well. I am unable to tell are the plastic lids you mention do they have holes in them or are they solid? Just wondering since the mushrooms need to breathe. Thank you❤

@@RevT. no holes in them, I find they last just fine for 3 weeks.

I wonder if a seed sprouting lid would be a good fit, to allow air to escape.

Can you store the pre-sliced mushrooms the same way?
@TheCrossLegacy14 күн бұрын
Yes they just don't last as long as whole

You will reduce free radical formation if you prep your veggies right before using them.

Brown paper bags work just as well, with the only drawback being you can't see what's inside at a glance.
@TheCrossLegacy7 күн бұрын
Yes I agree, I forget about them in a bag.
