Speaking of dehydration, I read that fermented skincare ingredients can penetrate deeper and hydrate the skin better but there are many different kinds. I was wondering if you could explain all the different kinds of fermented ingredients and the benefits of type as well as the best products of each! Also, it would be so cool to see a day in your life or maybe what got you into skincare and what made you start the channel!

19:55 (approximately) Yes! Please don't pick/squeeze!! If you must, avoid all unnecessary "dead" time in front of mirrors, as much as possible. Especially when you stand very close to the mirror or mirrors that have those magnifying effects. Those kinds of mirrors aren't helpful in any way to the borderline OCD picker. And remember: it's only a momentarily satisfaction but a lifetime of scars and regrets. Take care of yourself and do something you really like to do instead! ❤❤❤

Thank you for the much needed reminder to STOP TOUCHING my skin! As well as always having the most clutch product recommendations 😆 I finally started using the cosrx propolis toner that had been hanging out in my to-try box (got it at the same time as the BoJ serums but didn't want to change too much too fast). Holy crap! Another game changer for sure. Since I got my first Korean skincare product (I'm From mugwort essence), about a year ago now, my skin has gone through such a dramatic change.

I completely agree with you, since I began double cleansing I notice I don't get black heads as often. The oil cleanser needs to be medium weight like the Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Oil cleanser. I have tried IUNIK Calendula oil cleanser which is a lighter weight oil and found I had to use BHA toner a little more often to remove black heads.

Another ampoule that has ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids that is super lightweight (perfect for ALL skin types, I have oily dehydrated skin!!!) is the Ample:n ceramide shot ampoule! Nice runny texture, super affordable!!! I have acne prone skin and it doesn’t break me out! No fragrance or essential oils either :) a lot of skin barrier repairing products are perfect for winter but can get a little heavy on my oily skin in the summer, so ones like the ample:n are perfect right now!!! I’m gonna try the ve plain ampoule now!!!

What has worked for me this most is, like you said, focusing on my skin barrier + exfoliation. I used to be more focused on the ✨exfoliating✨ part of my routine but if you are not careful, you can overdo it. I use a hydrating toner, a ceramide moisturizer and Paula's Choice bha and I still experience clogged pores. But I think it's because I am not cleansing my skin properly? My Cosrx low ph cleanser doesn't lather that much and I use a small amount to not dry out my skin, and because I use lots of layers of moisturizer, I think I have lots of excess sebum and product on my skin. When you have dry skin but a tendancy towards closed comedones 🙃 I know that one trigger for clogging is fatty alcohols but its so hard to find rich creams that, even without fatty alcohols, don't cause congestion. Niacinamide is a cyst trigger for me but people love to recommend that stuff. My current routine is: Hada Labo Gokujyun Premium Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner Keep Cool and Soothe Toner Innisfree Green Tea Lotion EX (only moisturiser that doesn't break me out) A few drops of Hemp oil (very moisturising, doesn't clog me up) La Roche Posay Sunscreen (And 0.015% Tret and Azelaic Acid a few times a week buffered between my moisturiser and under the Bioderma Ciccabio Pommade with the appropriate wait times)

Prescription azelaic acid was far too drying for me and I used it consistently for over 2 months before deciding it wasn't going to work out Now I have adapalene for a little over a month and it is going much better.
