I used to make stories about a show I like A LOT, most had an OC or two that never appeared again, and I only finished like 5 of them (I wrote well over 100 of them) The plots were also mostly based off an episode of another show with a few changes. Most of my effort on them was spent on the backgrounds that were also copied from a show I kinda want to redesign the OCS from those stories now that I have improved my art a lot

My mom is 53 and she still doesn't know what an album is 😂. Yesterday she asked Google nest to play songs from the opera singer Bocelli. Then she told me Google picked the perfect album, or she was wondering what album it was that had all of these collabs in it. She said they were the same songs they had at the 30th carrer anniversary tribute concert they aired on tv. I had to explain to her that Google most likely opened Bocelli's Spotify page and was pulling the most famous songs from the artist page. That this is no album. That I could've asked him to play songs of my favorite artist let's say Cheat Codes and it would probably play Cheat Code's most famous songs and nothing more. That it wouldn't pick an album in particular like the Hellraisers serie or One Night In Nashville. But a random assortment of songs.

I have more information on the vase that kid broke! His parents were watching him fairly well, but he had done so too quickly for them to react. The museum doesn’t have any glass or anything surrounding the pieces so it’s more immersive for everyone. From when I remember, people were allowed to touch the items, he touched it with a bit of force, causing it to fall over. The museum was really understanding about the whole thing and they ended up hooking it together and I believe he even got to help a little bit with that process.

12:30 That's so adorable. Gives me "Alice Through the Looking-Glass" vibes. There's a part where the White Queen suddenly begins screaming. ‘What is the matter?’ [Alice] said, as soon as there was a chance of making herself heard. ‘Have you pricked your finger?’ ‘I haven’t pricked it yet,’ the Queen said, ‘but I soon shall-oh, oh, oh!’ ‘When do you expect to do it?’ Alice asked, feeling very much inclined to laugh. ‘When I fasten my shawl again,’ the poor Queen groaned out: ‘the brooch will come undone directly. Oh, oh!’ As she said the words the brooch flew open, and the Queen clutched wildly at it, and tried to clasp it again. ‘Take care!’ cried Alice. ‘You’re holding it all crooked!’ And she caught at the brooch; but it was too late: the pin had slipped, and the Queen had pricked her finger. ‘That accounts for the bleeding, you see,’ she said to Alice with a smile. ‘Now you understand the way things happen here.’ ‘But why don’t you scream now?’ Alice asked, holding her hands ready to put over her ears again. ‘Why, I’ve done all the screaming already,’ said the Queen. ‘What would be the good of having it all over again?’

18:35 Skibbidi Toilet is NOT much different than Annoying Orange. A sentient thing known for being annoying but at the same time creative, ended up getting a huge following, and even had merch and toys for kids to buy. I remember once having a talking Annoying Orange doll. We're NOT that different. The issue is though, as far as I recall, there weren't content farm channels like LankyBox and such using Annoying Orange back then. I could be wrong though. Also, the "Mom found the Yaoi" video seems to be more of just a skit. Most of her videos seem to be satire, like "Why I think my neighbor's dog is a government agent." And her videos are usually sped up and pitched. There's also her About and her Community tab. It's similar to the famous "I HATE MINIONS SO MUCH" video, which was also just a joke that some people thought was real, when the original uploader does plenty of satirical videos.

14:52 This hate is different from kids having fun in a new way and old people not liking it. This kids is saying very political stuff they don't know about then adding Tik Tok memes/characters from the last 2 years They're learning about what's right and wrong from dark memes which are… y'know *dark* But also light memes can be/are boring when you're used to dark humor like these kids
@rhetteffectbeatsКүн бұрын
the sad part is these kids are likely to grow up and say the lgbtq+ community is CoRrUpTiNg OuR cHiLdReN but the reason they say this stuff is bc they got co-opted at a young age

absolutely this. i think i speak for most people my age (20s) when i say we fully understand the fact that historically older generations have always generally looked at younger peoples trends with disdain and fear, but this generation we have literal things we can point to and say, no, this is ACTUALLY OBJECTIVELY BAD.

That one about the kid searching again to tell his dad he didn't want to look it up reminds me of a similar incident with me, although with different circumstances and really a more practical use. So, back during the pandemic and the "year of zoom" as I call it, which was during my freshman year of high school, my math class was using this online program for us to solve the day's math questions that let us write on a canvas. At one point during that, my internet cut out for a moment, kicking me out of the zoom meeting. I quickly attempted again to rejoin, and to help with that, I wrote on the canvas "The internet kicked me out. Can you let me back in?" because the teacher was reviewing our answers after we finished a particular question. When he let me back in, he was just staring at the screen and everyone was seeing my writing. Don't remember much else besides that, but I remember that being kind of a funny thing.

18:10 MLP lore note: Rainbow Dash is actually a douche and only in the later seasons learns to humble herself. She regularly feuded with griffons like Gilda as a result of how the ancestors of pegasi at that time regularly had a race/territory war against griffons. Also the culturally closest characters to African people in the main universe are the zebras, kelpies, and abada from Farasi who live South of Equestria, and since most of them don't have completely black skin/fur the n slur wouldn't make sense
@terminalvelocityrunner2202Күн бұрын
I mean, Rainbow Dash was kind of mean at times, but she at least still had a range of redeeming qualities. She was literally the Element-Bearer of Loyalty. And there were like 7 of those, selected by great powers, for their personality and teamwork potential. Out of literally the entirety of Equestria. She was very Competitive, yes. Somewhat edgy, yes. Kind of self centered at times, also yes. But the fact remains that she was still a great person- er… pony. The majority of characters in Ponyville and beyond valued her friendship for a reason.

Also not trying to stir the pot, but there was also the episode from what I remember in which Apple Jack and her family have a feud with the buffalos over the usage of the land and her being a total ass towards the buffalos (which were a clear stand in for indigenous peoples and Native Americans) when they stated that they lived there first before being driven away by ponies and want their land back.

on a serious note for that second one, PARENTS -- try not to make a regular habit of being upset in front of your kids. obviously it's very different if you just happen to be crying in another room and the kid comes to comfort you voluntarily, but it's unhealthy to /expect/ children to listen to your problems and help you feel better, that job is for your spouse, therapist, or another adult in your life. some people don't grasp that concept and it's deeply concerning.

tbh sometimes it's ok i guess. my dad left because he was cheating on my mom, and i remember the night of him revealing that i walked out of my room into complete darkness and all i heard was her punching the wall and sobbing, hell even months later she'd come and cry on my shoulder. i'm a teenager by now and i was when it happened. it has been 3 months. i think it was valid in that specific case, though i never enjoyed it, and i feel like whenever i hear any sounds that are vaguely like sobbing i start looking around and wondering if someone is. i guess it didn't help much that i didn't really care after like 3 weeks. i got over it quickly, but it's still unfair as he's currently living in his new girlfriend's house with an insane salary and not having to pay for housing, while my mom is going to have to work in a low paying job for the rest of her life now. he still texts me and the biggest responses i ever give him are "no" or just making fun of him.

16:42 We still have those in my city. Though the last time I remember using one was back when I was on elementary one time my mom dropped me at school but since my backpack was too heavy I took it off and gave it to her, then she forgot to give it back to me and none of us realized until like 20 minutes after. I asked the principal (she was and still is friends with my mom) if I we could give her a call. Weird thing is we DID use MY money on the pay phone that was outside the school INSTEAD of just calling my mom using her phone. I ended up 40 cents short for my daily chicken sandwich that day.

To any kid reading this, you and the kids your age doing things to look "cool" like swearing, making edgy jokes, thinking they know better than adults, trying to act like adults etc. Is only gonna impress people your age or younger. Youre gonna look back at yourself and think you were stupid. Theres a time and place to do things and youll have plenty of time to do those things as an adult so just dont do it as a kid since your childhoold is so short. I know you want to grow up and do things but you will eventually. Youll learn from your mistakes but hopefully this will inspire someone to just act like a kid and play with their friends or smth

I honestly agree about Skibidi toilet not being any worse than the previous generations' memes and jokes. That quirky little series is innocent. The modern slang I have a problem with today is the words that focus on looks, status and how likeable you are (sigma male, mewing, mogging?? And stuff like that). I much prefer the era of "yeet", "do u know da way" and vines to that, and I wasn't even there when vine still existed, I watched vines on KZbin after it was gone.

the broken ancient jar reminds me of all the kids (and their parents tbh) showing absolute disrespect at pompeii and herculaneum. sitting in the windows of the ruined buildings, picking up stones to chuck at one another, and just being absolute menaces in a graveyard. in the palace of naples, there were two kids doing a tiktok dance on the stairs and holding everyone up.

I don't think I will ever find my first journal entry but I do vividly remember one. I live about 4 hours away from Florence in Genova italy. My parents wanted to go to Florence for an academy tour. Basically in Florence there's a military academy for what you'd consider the navy seals (people that fly military planes) and my brother was interested. I don't know if this explains it better but it's an areonautics academy. And I think the day prior I got a new journal as my previous one was full. And I excitedly wrote on there how happy I was to go the next day. We went and did the tour then left the car somewhere and just had a stroll around Florence. I've since come back for my mom's 50th bday but this memory will forever be the best. Because I can still feel the excitement of wanting to go and have lots of fun. Edit: I still own the postcard I got that started my hobby and tradition. I like to buy postcard of any place I go to that is postcard worthy. For example I don't buy postcards at my dad's hometown where my relatives are or from my hometown. But if I count them all I might have 50 or so postcards. Some of them are from the same city. I try to buy the multi photo ones because they are so fun and show the city more. It's a way to help me remember these places.
