Rob is lowkey ruining this, togashi is a genius writer and drops so many subtle hints throughout the entire series, and one of them already was that "You cannot overcome everything with will power". He goes outside the standard norms of shonen with his work and it's for that exact reason why HxH is a legendary classic, you have to remeber that this story is well over 20 years old. Alot of the things you see in shonen now are quite literally a case of HxH did it first. Rob, stop trying to push your bullshit willpower conquers everything agenda and for once, pay attention to what, and how, TOGASHI, a legendary writer is trying to portray in his work, in his art. Instead of trying to interpret it in your own narrow viewpoint, look at how he is trying to TELL it to you. You are not only ruining this for others, but more importantly, you are ruining this for yourself.

Most of these guys don't pay attention you can not quantify the fact that Gon had a harder fight than killua due to the fact that they each have different styles of fighting. If they are talking about what we know we know that Killua is more of a strategist than Gon no doubt he also has better judgement and a killer instinct which is why he efficiently dealt with them so quickly. If the roles were reversed Killua would have realised the owl and bats weakness much faster than Gon and that's a fact.

Pat and Rob's argument is a tough one to make about whose fight was harder. They claim that Gon's fight was tougher because the duration of the fight not only was longer but he also had to use his Jajanken to win. Whereas, the counter could be made that Killua is actually stronger than Gon for the fact that he DIDN'T have to use his nen abilities and was still able to finish his opponents quickly.

It's been stated and shown multiple times that Killua is stronger than Gon, one example being: this episode. Gon had trouble because he ain't on Killua's level of strategic thinking but as soon as the bat was delt with Gon had no trouble. Everything Killua did wasn't because his enemies were trash, it was because Killua is a god damn SAVAGE. Hard L for those 3.

Im wellz at 18:30 every time Rob mentions willpower. Edit: After reading some comments, I ALSO want to point out that Killua had a more complicated fight than Gon. Killua just made it look easier bc he was THAT skilled. And yes, Gon did use his special attack while Killua didnt but its bc Killua is stronger. He didnt have to use his special attack to defeat all these ants while Gon had to use Paper (correct me if im wrong but I think its his 1st time using it) to defeat 2 ants.

Simply put, at this point in time, Killua is way more stronger, faster, and experienced than Gon at fighting without using nen abilities. killua would have taken the flying duo out using strategy with less effort and no need to use nen powers.

There have been so many instances where it was shown that Killua was stronger than Gon. I would say it was kind of debatable when Killua had the needle because it limited him so much (although I still think he was stronger), but after removing the needle it's not even an argument. Bisuke said many times that Killua was more talented/stronger. Morel said that Killua was ready, but wasn't sure about Gon. Meleoron said that he really wants to avoid Killua and went for Gon instead etc. Also the 2 ants that Gon fought were not strong, they had good coordination but they were just weak soldiers. Killua is at a point where some squadron leaders avoid confronting him.

I won't comment on the comparative strength of various chimera ants, but a lot of the discussion and disagreement post-reaction seemed to revolve around the idea that Gon and Killua are equal in combat ability: this is NOT and has NEVER been the case (not to say he won't or can't be, he just isn't right now and that's ok). The fact that Killua is stronger has been both implied throughout the show as well as explicitly stated. One of the most important things about them is their friendship, so I'm not really sure why you guys seem to take one being stronger than the other as some sort of personal affront; they're fine with it, why shouldn't you be? Ignoring and twisting information so it fits the narrative in your head however, can do nothing but take away from your experience, because I promise you, whatever you've made up in your head is infinitely inferior to what Togashi sat down and wrote.

Willpower refers to determination, strength of will and strength of character. Nothing more. It doesn't refer to actual power Rob, please I'm tired of hearing you use this in ways that don't make sense, its baffling. Willpower does indeed get you far in other animes, but rarely in this one. It's been 100 episodes and you're still convinced willpower can solve everyone's problems? At this point in the show, it should be obvious that realism is important in this anime.
