The game for me was a 6/10. I actually went back and played Kingdom Hearts: FInal Mix and got over 60 hours of gameplay on Proud Mode as compared to the 20 hours playing KH3 on the same difficulty. To be honest the only impressive part of the game were the times you got to play as Riku and ______ (DLC Spoilers.) Other then that, it just wasn't worth the 10+ year wait. To be honest I think the people who made this game were getting trapped in their own ideas and had no way out, which is why they ended it as they did. They just kept adding things hoping to make it interesting and the story ended up becoming jumbled into nonsense. This game was a project that needed to be done years ago and now it really made fans question the series. Now there is a new saga and hopefully a new way for Kingdom Hearts to retcon everything the fans know and confuse them even more with things they never asked for in another 10 year time gap. Hopefully we get the FF characters back or at the very least get to play as _______ again.

I just finished Olympus and got to Twilight Town and it is disappointing so far. After getting the bundle and playing 1 and 2(more than 100 hours between them, couldn't care much for the other ones), I was ready to tackle KH3 finally. Meh, began it on Critical Mode, so much bs from the start, the camera is wonky, enemies off-screen wrecking you, little telegraphs on many attacks from the opponents(many times I died and did not know wth f**kd me). The story? I stopped caring after the first KH, played for the gameplay, it was very addictive for me. KH2 was a blast, those forms were fun to mess with, some bosses are all time greats. I miss the FF characters, they would make it more bearable to watch the endless cutscenes, maybe...

I'm a huge Kingdom Hearts nerd, and in regards to 3 especially, yeah there are numerous infuriating plot holes. 3 was a pretty big disappointment for most fans, and describing it as a bag of random ideas beat together is a pretty accurate description. It didn't feel worth the delays, though it was still a positive experience to finally play.

Attractions are a shitty gimmick and not fun, game is pathetically easy even on proud(even if it was difficult, it'd just be difficult because enemies are bullshit), story was legitimately the worst I've ever seen from a game and the ending was dog shit, disney worlds are filler and wastes of time, and like Rantoni said 10 fucking hours of cutscenes. Wish Nomura realized that nobody gives a shit about his terrible plot aside from nostalgia addicts or people with down syndrome. Kh2 was better, kh3 was good but very disapointing, I was kinda upset that they took my favorite spell reflect away although its in the tokyo keyblade you can only use it temporarily which restricted your options in combat. My biggest complaint though was that the ending felt rushed, I entered it wanting to know whats going to happen to aqua, kairi, riku, roxas and all the heros that I loved but they hardly ever showed up if ever throughout the story KAIRI who I was hoping id get to play since shes a key weilder in training hardly gets shown in the game until the end, althoug the aqua fight gave me chills that was probably the most memorable moment for me plaing the game. The disney commands were really annoying after a while they even let you have them during boss fights like the aqua fight but I didnt want them cause it felt like I was cheating. I wish they could have sprinkled in more of the end in the middle like actually fighting the members of organixation 13 not just playing fucking peek a boo with them, also where the hell were the final fantasy characters at? I dont think I ever saw cloud or merlin once the entire time. Oh god and then the ending felt like they pulled it out of their ass with the eye patch guy being the main villan. Also what the actual fuck were pete and the bitch doing the entire game looking for the box WHAT HAPPENED there was no "oh shit" moment with that entire arc jesus christ, as much as I live the franchise I havent touched kh3 since I beat it but I probably beat kh2 like 10 times cause with critical mode you cant just "press x to win". As a person who's play every single Kingdom Hearts game...including the mobile game... I agree with almost everything you said. Even though you haven't played the others... you were remarkably spot on for the most part. Just a couple things, the blocking has actually been a unique and core mechanic in Kingdom Hearts since the first game - it's a bit of a learning curve but if you keep practicing, once you get it down you'll be blocking everything in no time (they even improved upon it in this game by allowing you for the first time to block in the air). Also, you should have played on Proud mode because the biggest complaint of the game was that it was too easy, even it's proud mode was too easy... so yes one of your mistakes Ranton is actually caused by the developer's poor development of the enemy AI. Damn I can't believe you nailed this one so well without playing the others... Ranton would you possibly be willing to play Kingdom Hearts 2? That's the game that made KH fans so obsessed with the series and caused the "Bro I'm telling you Kingdom Hearts 2 is the best game ever! *cough cough* *choking on weeb overload*" Kingdom Hearts 2 was the last game made by the original development team (Tokyo Team) before the handheld and kh3 developers (Osaka Team) took over. It's whole new experience and insaneee. The story is going to be crazy but in a good way... mostly. With only two titles before it, KH2 was the last game before the major handheld spinoffs really made the plot convoluted. The story was meant to be enigmatic through the mystery of it's unique characters and it's mysterious and elaborate lore of both philosophical and very real conflicts of light and darkness... all wrapped in a seemingly innocent Disney themed shell. But now as the years passed, I've realized the spin offs did more harm than good and we ended up with this mess

I’d say that I’m pretty more or less engraved into the larger plot, but even I have to say the stuff from dream drop distance, this game, and a few others are pretty stupid and unnecessary. The time traveling stuff in particular is completely fucked. And in iii much of the plot stuff is paced horribly, I mean, they had to do a cutaway to explain the convoluted lore to the good guys when they’re all together. I think there’s enough redeeming qualities in the writing of a few of the games (particularly the earlier ones) for it to be understandable for people to like it so much, but even rabid fans have to say that most (not all) of 3’s writing is pretty flawed. Still an enjoyable game tho
