I knit this hat last month and when she says "So if you see a knit, knit it, if you see a purl, purl it." at the end of the directions for row 23 I did exactly that. Even though it said P3, slip 3 sts to CN, K3, K3 when I did it I Knit 3, slipped the 3 sts onto the cable needle, and followed whatever my stitches were (P or K). It kind of got confusing as I sometimes purled 1 from the CN and knit 2 but regardless of the confusion sometimes it came out great :) i hope that helps a little bit!

please help....I have never knitted anything. However, I am now stuck on row 23. I have no idea what it means to add rows. I am so close to finishing, but is that 2 more rows, or 2 more stitches. I have done so well (a lot of pulled out stitches and a lot of pulled out hair). I just can't find anything on the web to explain it, so that a novice like me understands. BTW, I have now learned to knit and what a cable is. I am thrilled!!!! Thank you so much.

Love your video but confused on rows 14-18? You follow the pattern for 14-16 but then do you follow the same pattern from 14-16 or do you just knit 17 & 18? Your video is just a little confusing and the directions didn't help much from the PDF pattern. Please clarify for me...Thanks

US size 10 and 11 Circular Needles, 12" Cable Needle , Stitch Marker ,Tapestry Needle, ( optional- substitute for #10 Circular Needle for 4 no# 10 DPN ( double pointed needles ) The PDF printed version of this pattern is also very nice !

Hi, I start knitting this beanie today.. I am now at row 22. For CIndy VIckers, I am able to get 108 for row 13, for row 14 it is k4 +(27*3)+(p5+k9+p4+k5) =108 sts

I love the hat and you make it look so easy to knit. I haven't knitted in yrs and never knitted a hat, would this be simple enought for beginner? I have a hat pattern I have just purchased and had to take it down 3 times, got confused :) Ive never used circular needles nor cable needle before, at the moment I am using ordinary needles size 51/2 ?

Hi again! I have another question for you. I just counted my stitches after doing the increase, and to my dismay discovered I have 6, that's right 6, more stitches then I need! What should I do? I can I just leave them alone you think? Or should i try to decrease? Your help is much appreciated!

when you slip off 3 stitches, does it make a difference if you put it in the front or the back? will the pattern change?

I actually re-did the hat until the section, but after row 23, do we do row 14-16, then do 14 and 15 again and then add 17 &18?

How much smaller would it be if I used size 8 needles?

I've been following this video from the beginning, and love how it's coming out, but somehow on step 13 I ended up with 106 stitches instead of the 108. Any recommendations of what to do? Should I add on 2 more stitches or just continue with my 106?

I accidently skipped row 16 (after doing rows 14 & 15) and went right to row 17. I'm not confident that I would be able to back track all of row 17 without seriously messing up the whole thing. Do you think it would be okay if I just added and extra row when I repeat rows 14-16 after row 23 and end up doing 6 rows altogether of this instead of just 5? Thanks so much :)

Is it necessary to make the extra stitches (to make 108 stitches on the needles) or can you leave them out and improvise the pattern?

Hi Christine thank you for the beautiful pattern and tutoria. I was doing okay till I got to row 14 with making one, I ended up with lots more stitches then 108, also a space near the make 1 on completion of row 16 so when I get to decreasing should I just decrease more on each row? Thank you!

Awesomeastrid Mosaics oh no! I wonder if your yarn was in the front which made more than 1 increase at a time. Yes I guess you would have to decrease more.

I’m confused, for knitting the beanie Kim karsahin hat, it doesn’t say in the pattern to repeat rows 1 thru 12, but your video says it, why not it saying it in the instructions?

Do not repeat unless you want a really slouchy beanie. It was just a mistake and I can't fix it on the video itself. So DO NOT repeat rows 1-12. Go straight to Row 13

iKNITS I went ahead n knitted the 12 rows again, now I’m almost done with row 13, I’m at the last 4 stitches and I counted all my stitches before the last 4 and I have 98 stitches, I did a make 1 after each 2 stitches, what did I do wrong and where do I go from here?
