Averaged 32/5.5/7.4 in these finals. This was an era where 100 points was a high scoring game. Easily equals to 40+ pts in todays era. Pure greatness

100 points was NOT a high scoring game by then. The rules changes of 2004 to increase scoring had already taken effect. The league average was 100 points per game by 2009.

I heard this story about Kobe missing a bunch of shots during practice and realizing that the basket was set a quarter-inch too low. A guy came in to adjust it and it was indeed a quarter-inch too low. Basically, what that means is that Kobe is practiced to the point where the muscle memory in his entire body is calibrated to make every shot from whatever shooting positions he ran through with near-perfect accuracy. So, in a live game, if he’s shooting from any of those positions, it doesn’t matter if you put your hand in his face. If you don’t touch the ball after it leaves his hands, it’s going in the basket.

One of many seasons Kobe was robbed of the league MVP award. Lebron got to play in the weakest conference and gets rewarded with 4 MVP awards, while Kobe played in the toughest conference went to finals 3 times in a row and wins 1 MVP award. Orlando beat Cleveland in 6 games and the Lakers beat Orlando in 5 games. Kobe the goat.

What I love is how the vast majority of his points are high difficulty jumpers. The amount of skill is off the charts. Lebron might put up better stats, and Curry might be the best straight up shooter, but they will never be as great as Kobe because even on their best days they could never do what Kobe did on a nightly basis. At least half of the shots in this video are shots that only he could make.

It takes a team to win championships, not individuals. Championships are overrated in regards to individual comparisons. In my opinion, in his prime, Kobe Bryant is the best offensive player that has ever lived. I'm talking about learned ability and thoroughly developed skills that root from his bullet proof mental edge. Comparable to Jordan is Kobe, but Kobe lacked much of the athletic ability and raw talent that Jordan possessed. Fuck ppg, and scoring titles and championships like I've already explained; Jordan and Lebron in their primes were aided by their incomparable athleticism. There's no doubt that they are 2 of probably the top 8-10 bodies the NBA has ever seen. Head at the rim, fast as fuck, built. Kobe even in his prime had the athletic talent of an average 2 guard, this is my point. What separates him is his skill- pure basketball skill. Kobe in his prime had mastered the game of basketball. There were absolutely no limitations offensively. He's a top 5 player ever imo.

This series and the 2010 Western Conference Finals series against the Suns when he made that last shot and patted Alvin Gentry on the boom boom lol. +dyodoublej Most of the time Lebron did not share the court with another all-star. Kobe wasn't a starter for his first couple of seasons and was sharing the court with Shaq until 2004. If he had no all-stars with him in his first years like Lebron did in Cleveland and MJ did in Chicago, he would have at least 30 points per game for his career. Also, don't compare rebounds, blocks. Lebron is taller and stronger and plays as a forward too. Of course he will get more rebounds and more blocks. On the other hand Kobe may not have that many assist per game, but he still leads all SGs in assists. That's remarkable if you consider that he was playing almost 4 seasons with scrubs like Kwame Brown and Smush Parker. Triple Doubles are also easier for Lebron, who can rebound at will and has a "pass first" mentality. Kobe will pass when he has good teammates, but will not if he has scrubs, because he wants to win not just have fun.
@kATOsTaRiS
@kATOsTaRiS 8 жыл бұрын
dyodoublej You don't understand at all. You are just blindly biased against Kobe and try to find flows. You can't even really compare them, since they played on different positions. You can only compare him with MJ, who truly is better. Because he is maybe the best shooting guard to ever play the game. But Kobe is a close second.
@kATOsTaRiS
@kATOsTaRiS 8 жыл бұрын
dyodoublej I said Kobe is the second best shooting guard. Find me a better shooting guard than Kobe after MJ. Also Kobe could easily have 1-3 more scoring titles during his career and never got an MVP earlier because of his off the court law issues...

In twenty years how is it that Kobe Bryant only won one MVP awards unbelievable. He should have had at least three,or four MVPs. Steve Nash beat Kobe out is just unbelievable. Too bad Kobe didn't get the recommendation he deserved. He didn't allow the hater's stop him from accomplishing his dream of becoming the greatest 🐐 goat of all time. It's time Jeanie buss to put his statute out side the Staples center. Shag could not have won without Kobe Bryant, Kobe Bryant proved that he could be win without shag two in a row, so why shag have a statue before Kobe Bryant. People need to watch all Kobe's games played. There will never be another Black Mamba ever. RIP Mamba, greatest of all time. Wishing you, and Gigi were still here. You two will always be remembered till the end of time.

in terms of making crazy shots? yes definitely! even when you compare him to players who played in the earlier eras of basketball i think hes still on another level in that aspect. but purely in that category. many players can match his stat lines and production from then and even now.

DreDaDon__ Laughable!!! What player did Kobe ever make? What player EVER played on the Kobe lead Lakers and was an over valued free agent? What fringe All Star player Kobe ignited into an All Star? DIRTY LITTLE SECRET that all Kobe fans refuse to ACKNOWLEGE. He is not double trapped in the Finals NOT one time at the top, sparingly in the post. Orlando plays Kobe straight up and DOUBLES Pau on the CATCH. On the CATCH. WOW. Chris Paul, Steph Curry is doubled and trapped.

but people say lebron is better this is how you take over a series he wanted the ball in his hands 24/7 to make plays he was that confident in his shot and every shot he took was difficult and contested tell me lebron can shoot like that and I'll slap you he put up 30 every game this series easy people will say well Lebron is better all around look at his stats my answer to that it's easy to put up numbers like that when your on a super team. Shaq, Dwayne Wade, Chris bosh, kyrie Irving, ray Allen, Kevin love, Jason Williams, he played with all them all-stars in his lifetime give kobe those players and tell me how that will work kobe stayed with the same team for 20 years I'm not saying lebron trash he's definitely top 5 but as far as skill kobe is light years ahead of him his footwork is better post game mid rang 3 point inside game and I don't care about percentages because success speaks louder

Did Kobe not play with an actual prime Shaq who won all the finals mvps and either the first or second most dominant center ever and possibly the best coach ever? LeBron played with Shaq when he was old and broken down. Furthermore Shaq in his prime which is the Shaq Kobe played with is better than any teammate lebron played with. U ppl are delusional af. Lmao

In all honesty and as they say that hindsight is 20/20 that stands true because looking back I now see that we we're deprived of a classic series between the Lakers and Celtics that would of gone the distance in which had Celtics made it would of made it three consecutive years the two teams met in the Finals. It would of been the tie breakers between the Celtics winning in 08 and the Lakers winning in 2010.

The way he had the backpack his young team when they went against the Boston Celtics in 2008 he took all his frustration out on the magics and then later on the same team that beat him in 2008 back in 2010 🎯😤

This Magic team was fun to watch as well. Took down Lebron's Cavs. Hedo established himself as a clutch player. Outside shooting was deadly but the Lakers had a game plan for that. But Dwight was a dominant presence under the basket.

Man I emulated Kobe on the court in my high school days. We went undefeated that year and blew out teams by at least 30+ points, we even played the whole court trap and stopped a team from scoring a point, it was a 60-0 point game. Kobe was the closest to MJ ever, but there are a lot of other great names that can be mentioned alongside him. Definitely one of the greatest basketball players of all time for sure. S.I.P. Black Mamba forever.
