I heard this story about Kobe missing a bunch of shots during practice and realizing that the basket was set a quarter-inch too low. A guy came in to adjust it and it was indeed a quarter-inch too low. Basically, what that means is that Kobe is practiced to the point where the muscle memory in his entire body is calibrated to make every shot from whatever shooting positions he ran through with near-perfect accuracy. So, in a live game, if he’s shooting from any of those positions, it doesn’t matter if you put your hand in his face. If you don’t touch the ball after it leaves his hands, it’s going in the basket.

Lebron might put up better stats, and Curry might be the best straight up shooter, but they will never be as great as Kobe because even on their best days they could never do what Kobe did on a nightly basis. It takes a team to win championships, not individuals. Championships are overrated in regards to individual comparisons. In my opinion, in his prime, Kobe Bryant is the best offensive player that has ever lived. I'm talking about learned ability and thoroughly developed skills that root from his bullet proof mental edge. Comparable to Jordan is Kobe, but Kobe lacked much of the athletic ability and raw talent that Jordan possessed. Fuck ppg, and scoring titles and championships like I've already explained; Jordan and Lebron in their primes were aided by their incomparable athleticism. There's no doubt that they are 2 of probably the top 8-10 bodies the NBA has ever seen. Head at the rim, fast as fuck, built. Kobe even in his prime had the athletic talent of an average 2 guard, this is my point. What separates him is his skill- pure basketball skill. Kobe in his prime had mastered the game of basketball. There were absolutely no limitations offensively. He's a top 5 player ever imo.

@kATOsTaRiS9 жыл бұрын
+dyodoublej Most of the time Lebron did not share the court with another all-star. Kobe wasn't a starter for his first couple of seasons and was sharing the court with Shaq until 2004. If he had no all-stars with him in his first years like Lebron did in Cleveland and MJ did in Chicago, he would have at least 30 points per game for his career. Also, don't compare rebounds, blocks. Lebron is taller and stronger and plays as a forward too. Of course he will get more rebounds and more blocks. On the other hand Kobe may not have that many assist per game, but he still leads all SGs in assists. That's remarkable if you consider that he was playing almost 4 seasons with scrubs like Kwame Brown and Smush Parker. Triple Doubles are also easier for Lebron, who can rebound at will and has a "pass first" mentality. Kobe will pass when he has good teammates, but will not if he has scrubs, because he wants to win not just have fun.
@kATOsTaRiS9 жыл бұрын
dyodoublej You don't understand at all. You are just blindly biased against Kobe and try to find flows. You can't even really compare them, since they played on different positions. You can only compare him with MJ, who truly is better. Because he is maybe the best shooting guard to ever play the game. But Kobe is a close second.
@kATOsTaRiS9 жыл бұрын
dyodoublej I said Kobe is the second best shooting guard. Find me a better shooting guard than Kobe after MJ. Also Kobe could easily have 1-3 more scoring titles during his career and never got an MVP earlier because of his off the court law issues...

Not fast but quick enough, not strong but well physical, no fancy moves but killer-timing, not the best stamina but drives efficiently to the title. One can give up so much to gain so much, beautiful game, beautiful player.

DreDaDon__ Laughable!!! What player did Kobe ever make? What player EVER played on the Kobe lead Lakers and was an over valued free agent? What fringe All Star player Kobe ignited into an All Star? DIRTY LITTLE SECRET that all Kobe fans refuse to ACKNOWLEGE. He is not double trapped in the Finals NOT one time at the top, sparingly in the post. Orlando plays Kobe straight up and DOUBLES Pau on the CATCH. On the CATCH. WOW. Chris Paul, Steph Curry is doubled and trapped.

How amazing of a series would it have been with kobe's lakers in his prime vs Jordan's bulls in his? Stuff of dreams man. Jordan is still the best but it would have been an amazing battle.

In all honesty and as they say that hindsight is 20/20 that stands true because looking back I now see that we we're deprived of a classic series between the Lakers and Celtics that would of gone the distance in which had Celtics made it would of made it three consecutive years the two teams met in the Finals. It would of been the tie breakers between the Celtics winning in 08 and the Lakers winning in 2010.

people say lebron is better? give me a break. There are different skill sets to win a game, kobe and jordan's was to score and defend.

Only thing this video needs is the final buzzer, Kobe hopping up and down in pure elation.

This Magic team was fun to watch as well. Took down Lebron's Cavs. Hedo established himself as a clutch player. Outside shooting was deadly but the Lakers had a game plan for that. But Dwight was a dominant presence under the basket.

its so weird watching all these mid range shots. even just a decade ago the game was completely different. today all guys do is shoot threes or layups
