As a personal trainer, I'm always impressed by "influencers" who I believe give quality information, and also have a knack for explaining it concisely and in a friendly way that's memorable. do you recommend a 12 year old trying to lose fat to do weight training?
@matthewschenker3170 Жыл бұрын
@@imthebest4life: A 12-year-old definitely can start doing some weight training. If possible, work with a personal trainer to develop a proper program. However, for losing fat, weight training can help but it is not enough by itself. You will also need to talk to someone who understands nutrition.

@@matthewschenker3170 Thank you! In the gym I go to, I can’t get a personal trainer and I’ve been asking my mom to help me with nutrition as she is the foundation of my nutrition, I’ve even asked her to call a nutritionist to help but she says she’ll do it and doesn’t. I’m just so confused on where to start! I want to do only cardio+cal deficit but everywhere I go I see weight training this, that. i want to give it a go but as I said, I don’t know where to start at all, like do I have to change up my routine or can I keep the same training routine!

A thing I would like to add is that even though it's good to aim for progressive overload, always listen to your body, because sometimes injury happens not because u did anything wrong, simply because ur body couldn't handle the weight, and as a newbie u often hear influencer promoting adding 1-2.5kg each week for these compound glute movements in the name of progressive overload, it can be misleading and dangerous. Everybody's body is different and our pace for muscle growth is different, so be careful. Cus we want to see results in a good way, not results in the form of medical diagnosis.

@arzubruhn Жыл бұрын
@@cordelia2283 Yes definitely, hormonal changes influence strength levels. However, apart from hormonal changes or stress levels, my lower body progresses pretty steadily. Each week I am able to add more weight or increase sets and reps on my leg days. Came a long way from 5kg per squat to 40kg in 4 months. But for upper body, if there is progress one week, it goes backwards during the next 2 weeks.
