Tip: switch to the other ship and point the docking port at your first ship. After that, you don't need to line anything up. Just go directly toward your target and you're set!

For me, the key to doing orbital rondevous was learning that prograde should be aiming towards target once a similarly close orbit is acheived.

BTW: Jool is an analog of Jupiter, not Saturn. A KSP developer said they were adding a Saturn analog called Sarnus, hence the name of Saturn IB and V pieces in Bluedog Design Bureau. The planet was never added. RIP

The hardest part of rendezvous for me is trying to match the inclination during launch. I always mess it up when launching from planets and moons with lower gravity. Equatorial orbits are fine though

Why do you put a docking port for the rescue tower? You don't need that. The CM's port can disconnect the tower by itself.

The jr docking port and the expandable docking ports are finicky when being docked together... Although I have found a half decent way to dock them without being magnetically ejected away at some angle Also how do you get that nice water and not drop to 1fps upon splashdown?

You need to target the docking port, then change to the vessel you want to dock to, point the docking port to the other docking port and then thrust slowly to dock. It's a 11 months old comment so you probably already did anyway
