Lots of great stuff in all your videos, but this one in particular had 2 moments I really appreciated: 44:16 - I loved how you showed how you corrected an area you weren't happy with. We always see moments in videos where the artist paints everything "correctly", yet a lot of us find we screw up in our efforts. This moment helped a lot in showing us what we might do when an area we paint on our canvas doesn't turn out the way we want it. 46:22 - The use of the orange around the canvas to use as eye magnets to move the viewer's eye, even if you don't see it in the scene in front of you was very enlightening, as well. It's so tempting when doing plein air to only paint what you see. This often results in a painting that's not as composed as well. These eye magnets are a great solution to strengthen a painting's composition. I just saw your new video telling us about the advanced lessons. I can't wait to see them. Until then, thanks again for posting these videos. I love all the information you give us, as well as the beautiful paintings themselves.

AlonzoTheArmless , Thank you! Yes we are all human and fixing the mess-ups is definitely part of the process:) I read once that John Singer Sargent would sometimes scrape and repaint an area over and over again to get it just right...the result is that his paintings looked effortless! So glad you are enjoying the videos! Best wishes and happy painting!!

Like the way you you deal with the water. As I said before I live in Blue Ridge Georgia and we have similar scenery. I live on a creek and capturing it often escapes me. I know “it’s just simple observation” but you made a great point about the cones getting over saturated. I must give that a try in my plein air painting. Great suggestion! Thanks for the content!

Richard you are so lucky to live on creek! Do you have some woods too? I miss all that. I'm a little stuck in Hawaii for now. lol.. Yeah it's beautiful here but no woods or creeks and the cost of living here is very limiting, and they really have been paving and polluting paradise, sadly. Anyway, I subscribed to your channel. Looks like you have a lot of good art vids on playlists and I want to check some of them out. :) ALOHA! Michelle ps I just found Kyle this week. He is a modern master painter don't you think? I do!

Question: You pointed out that the lights are darker and the darks are lighter in the water reflection. I see that happening in your building reflection but those posts reflections in the foreground are very dark and darker than you painted the actual posts. Do we make them darker if they are in the foreground? Also the value looks the same in relfection of the green clumpy plant very near those 2 posts. And you changed the color to a very dull tone compared to the green plant. Seems like 3 different rules are being applied. Can you please elaborate? thanks so much! Michelle. ps watching all your vids.. so amazing every one and I'm so grateful to be learning so much! I am new to painting and I can't wait to get going. I'm feeling so much better now that I am starting to make sketches that are a GOOD foundation. I will be a more confident painter thanks to your help!

Kyle, Thanks for the tip on reflections: Dark becomes lighter; light becomes darker in reflection. I've enjoyed your videos. What brand of paint do you recommend? PS -- The mower wasn't a huge distraction.

Great tips Kyle thanks for showing a different perspective on same view if you come over to England to paint give me a email plenty good places to paint in the peak district Derbyshire the best time May/june all the best dont spend to much to teaching some times when painting you have to do your own thing and be alittle selfish you need your own time for best results remember we are limited by time all the best Charles
