Owing a Tuono V4 Factory for over 2 years now. Seriously thinking to change for another bike, just for the sake of having a new toy. At the end, it will be a new 2022 Tuono. There is just nothing that comes close to that V4 power-plant and the chasis that puts so much confidence every time you trash it harder 🥰

Excellent review as always . It's like comparing a Porsche to a Lamborghini. With ideal roads and not much traffic the Tuono would edge it ,but that's a rare occurrence in the u.k. I've owned 3 Tuono's since 2016 and although they were great fun their reliability and warranty were not the best .

Eugene Gallagher . Took the Speed triple rs out today and it was a revelation. Handling wise , for my body weight , ( 15st) it's firm but not to the point of being uncomfortable. As speeds increase it really starts to come into its own and I think maybe beats the Superduke for agility and composure. Quickshifter is super slick and the brakes are superb. Only complaint is to wheelie it the t.c needs to be off . What were they thinking. It comes up a treat in 3rd. Overall it's a great bike ,just sort the anti wheelie and give us some racy paint jobs Triumph

Rode both bike back to back last week. No doubt the Triumph has a great engine and a brilliant finish (no visible cables/ hoses or any cheap looking surfaces) but the Tuono is by far the much better ride. Drivetrain with a perfect powerdelivery and flawless transmission/ blipper, best in class suspension, great stability, far better electronics/ assist package, great dash, proper ergonomics which suits the avaliable power - not talking about the V4 sound. The only lowlight is the looks of some plastic covers and switches - just my cents.

After owning and riding 8 years on the Street Triple R (2009/2014 models) I bought the Black Speed RS, to me the more substantial feel, power, build quality, ergonomics and the fact that it now rides more like a Street made it a no-brainer :) I have no complaints about the Speed suspension setup in normal (90kg 1.87m rider) since my Street was setup for the track. Only niggles I found sofar in the Speed: Neutral is sometimes hard to find, buzzing/droning in the handlebars above 6k revs which I'm hoping will be less with some bar-end weights, otherwise a perfect bike! I test rode the RS12 today. Was very impressed with it. Its not quite there but very good effort from triumph. Found the handling awesome, made my Tuono Factory feel heavy in comparison 😳 As you say the torque is far more noticeable on the Tuono. Once wound up the RS is just as fast. I did find the RS had intrusive vibes on the pegs and bars tho. I was unable to get it into track mode or turn the wheelie control off so that was a concern. Other point of note was the DRLs are not bright enough. I found people pulling out and just not seeing me while on the RS1200. I think if they sort out the vibes, more torque and segregated traction and wheelie control this will be fighting for the top spot.

Great video as usual Lamb Chops! You probably are right about the Triumph, it could be the better bike, but as a Tuono 2020 owner myself, for its little niggles, it's still the best bike for me and when I open my garage door it always makes me smile! I have never tried a speed triple, but the looks don't do it for me and Triumph continue to do dull, boring paint schemes. Like you said, if they had done the Speed in a red, it may even tempt me to try one. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for pointing out the Aprilia chain lash issue at lower revs. Figured they might have sorted that out on the new model. It annoys me too!!

Great reviews John, haven’t ridden the speed yet, the Tuono is very good, but I’d still have the superduke, it’s more chilled when you want it to be and comfier for me.
