Owing a Tuono V4 Factory for over 2 years now. Seriously thinking to change for another bike, just for the sake of having a new toy. At the end, it will be a new 2022 Tuono. There is just nothing that comes close to that V4 power-plant and the chasis that puts so much confidence every time you trash it harder 🥰

I have a 2016 GSXS-1000 done a bunch of mods on it over the going on 5 years I have owned her, but I was just watching MCN looking at Suzuki’s moded team Katana 200 + BHP and dreaming of it production! i had a Honda 150 cc bike most of the time in Thailand but I did buy a bigger bike after awhile there to had core fans of super naked if they are honest always want more! Eugene Gallagher . Took the Speed triple rs out today and it was a revelation. Handling wise , for my body weight , ( 15st) it's firm but not to the point of being uncomfortable. As speeds increase it really starts to come into its own and I think maybe beats the Superduke for agility and composure. Quickshifter is super slick and the brakes are superb. Only complaint is to wheelie it the t.c needs to be off . What were they thinking. It comes up a treat in 3rd. Overall it's a great bike ,just sort the anti wheelie and give us some racy paint jobs Triumph

After owning and riding 8 years on the Street Triple R (2009/2014 models) I bought the Black Speed RS, to me the more substantial feel, power, build quality, ergonomics and the fact that it now rides more like a Street made it a no-brainer :) I have no complaints about the Speed suspension setup in normal (90kg 1.87m rider) since my Street was setup for the track. Only niggles I found sofar in the Speed: Neutral is sometimes hard to find, buzzing/droning in the handlebars above 6k revs which I'm hoping will be less with some bar-end weights, otherwise a perfect bike! Nice review! keep them coming. Cheers from the Netherlands

The new Speed will be amazing but I'm ready for a change and think the Tuono or SDR might be it, I'll be interested to see the comparison of the Speedy and SDR. I was hoping the Tuono would be a clear favourite to help me make my mind up, so creds to Triumph on making this new bike so epic. My biggest issue with Triumph and the Speedy is the choice of colour, the Tuono just looks so much better. Come on Triumph, you made a fantastic new bike but the paint options are as dull as dish water.

It trips me out how 'meh' people are about this new Speedie. The thing lost 20+ lbs and gained 30hp in one year. Not sure what people expect, but I suspect it'll take a little time for it to register.

I just received my 2022 Speed Triple 1200RS and have a couple takes of gas through it. Love it. To make it a much better street bike, back the too firm Ohlins settings to 20 Compression and 20 Rebound on both fork and shock. Makes a massive difference. Still well dampened and control but some much more forgiving and much better contract with the road for 180lbs rider. I love the range of adjustments on the new Ohlins.

Rode both bike back to back last week. No doubt the Triumph has a great engine and a brilliant finish (no visible cables/ hoses or any cheap looking surfaces) but the Tuono is by far the much better ride. Drivetrain with a perfect powerdelivery and flawless transmission/ blipper, best in class suspension, great stability, far better electronics/ assist package, great dash, proper ergonomics which suits the avaliable power - not talking about the V4 sound. The only lowlight is the looks of some plastic covers and switches - just my cents.

I own one with a few mods like Air Filter, Decat Race Exhaust and a Unrestricted ECU Tune and let me tell you… It’s a rocket. I’ve found that I can launch harder by standing on traction/wheelie control. WOT from a stop, or exiting a corner and you can just lean on it and it keeps you sorted. I love it!

I test rode the RS12 today. Was very impressed with it. Its not quite there but very good effort from triumph. Found the handling awesome, made my Tuono Factory feel heavy in comparison 😳 As you say the torque is far more noticeable on the Tuono. Once wound up the RS is just as fast. I did find the RS had intrusive vibes on the pegs and bars tho. I was unable to get it into track mode or turn the wheelie control off so that was a concern. Other point of note was the DRLs are not bright enough. I found people pulling out and just not seeing me while on the RS1200. I think if they sort out the vibes, more torque and segregated traction and wheelie control this will be fighting for the top spot.

G'day Mr Chops. Great video. Two very good riders and two excellent motorcycles, let them loose on the highways and byways of English roads and what have you got , a super comparison. Well done chaps. For me it's the value for money Triumph but it was a close call. Brilliant.

Enjoyed the video. The Tuono is about as naked as a winter sheep. You repeated my son's words when he sold his; 'It is too much for the road', and he went on; 'I can't afford to lose my licence'.

1000 out of 1000 I'll take the Aprilia. No question. That fiery Italian engine , passion and quality is superior. I agree with Michael Neeves that the Tuono runs likely the greatest engine on any motorcycle ever produced. I like the Super Duke 1290 R and this over the Triumph. I rode the Triumph and I like it however I would grow tired of it.

Great review!! Got a test ride booked with Triumph for the new Speed RS, even more excited after watching this. Got to admit the Tuono sounds much better though!

Nice vid as usual! Between the 2021's i think i'd pick the Triumph, by a .0005 margin but as i have the 2020 Tuono factory i can't see any of them motivating a swap : )

I purchased a 2023 Baja Orange Speed Triple 1200RS yesterday and tested positive with the flu so I can’t ride as my whole body aches…. It sure does look beautiful in the garage at the moment 😅

As always a great review in this channel. I have been expecting this comparison eagerly. I own a 2011 Speed triple 1050, a 2013 Tuono V4R and a 2015 Street Triple Rx. I rode the Speed Triple 1200RS and the new Tuono V4 last week (and also the new S1000R). I agree with everything said except for me the 1160 triple engine is stronger (at least feels) in the mid range than the V4 from Aprilia. If I had to pick one of the two it would be the Triumph. The Tuono now feels a generation older which it is. The Aprilia still edges in sound and engine feeling but in everything else the Triumph is better. And with the new 1200RS I "don't need" to own a Speed Triple and a Street Triple because the 1200RS really is a Street Triple with a bonkers engine!

Great review as always, great bikes, i owned a Tuono V4 Factory for 8 months, and have done a few miles on the new speed triple, if you lived somewhere with great roads, virtually no traffic and no speed limits they’d be superb but in reality as an everyday bikes the whole current crop are largely useless, not very comfortable, loads of power you can’t use, snatchy and only really good above the national limit, and the fuel light will be on in a minute, the old speed was was a better road bike, the Tuono’s finish suffers quickly in the wet/ salt and it takes hours to clean… what are they for ?

Last tuono was discounted to £14.5K WITH the akra can. Was chatting to an aprilia dealer the other day saying I'd have one of these if they did that again

Great video as usual Lamb Chops! You probably are right about the Triumph, it could be the better bike, but as a Tuono 2020 owner myself, for its little niggles, it's still the best bike for me and when I open my garage door it always makes me smile! I have never tried a speed triple, but the looks don't do it for me and Triumph continue to do dull, boring paint schemes. Like you said, if they had done the Speed in a red, it may even tempt me to try one. Keep up the good work!

Great vid sir's. Any chance of a test of the base Tuono which is now more road focused than ever before. That, on the road could be a game changer in the super naked class. Cheers and keep up the good work.

Great reviews John, haven’t ridden the speed yet, the Tuono is very good, but I’d still have the superduke, it’s more chilled when you want it to be and comfier for me.

Is the Tuono a naked bike though ? No its not is it ,it's still got a bikini on , Triumph has its jugs out and no pants . Triumph used to paint these bikes in mad colours , now all you get is grey and black . love the 2 man comparison chit chat , great review

Too old for either but great review, I’d have the Tuono, hate the Triumph headlights but their quality these days is top notch and I don’t give a damn where they are made🤪
