Thank god someone’s riding it with the suspension adjusted for a normal road ride where it will spend 99% of its time. It never fails to amaze me the amount of people complaining about adjustable suspension then never bothering to adjust it. Nice one ☝️

Definitely right there buddy, drives me nuts when so called pro road testers say the suspension is stiff. It’s Ohlins for Christ sake , it’s top end stuff and designed to be adjusted to suite. I also wish pro riders stop telling us about its failings on a track as most people buy a road bike to ride on the road. Who cares if the brakes fade a little after braking from 150mph after 5 flat out track laps. It’s not a Moto GP bike it’s a road bike. Also who cares about doing wheelies, if you get caught on the road doing them you are in for a ban. It’s an awesome bike I’m sure I’d love one.

Out of that list the MT-10 got the nod from me, I had one and really regret trading it for a KTM 1290, KTM electronics are finicky at best, the S1000R was too clinical (Fast, accurate, smooth but left me cold) although the new version is supposed to be way more fun, Speed Triple and Tuono just crippled me.

I agree, some of the bigger magazine type testers complained that it was stiff suspension. It’s fully adjustable and top draw stuff as road bikes go. Surely a pro magazine rider can tweak the suspension to suit, makes you wonder for sure. Most riders don’t need to keep dicking about with the suspension once it’s set up anyway. It’s great to see Lamb Chops do a review because he is so enthusiastic.

You would think with the amount of keyless cars being stolen. Bikes wouldn't go the same way. The stupidest keyless are the semi keyless. Ignition is keyless but you need to get the fob/key out for petrol and removing the seat. I really don't understand the enthusiasm for keyless vehicles. Is it because we are getting lazy and the effort of getting keys out is just to much for some or am I just old? Nice review 👍

Thanks for the verdict (and settings info) on the suspension end of things. The electronics UI/UX is the exact same as the street triple, which to me is a bit lazy. You're right, they did miss a bit of a trick with wheelie control being mated to TC. But triumph do make great complete bikes. I ride a 2019 765rs and I love that bike more everyday. You truly appreciate a triumph the more you own it.

@Shalin I never rode the street. The bike I had before was a 1050 rs. Great bike but problems with QS or TSA. 2 weeks ago my new 1200 rs was at the dealers. Broken thermostat. I can only say the 1200 rs more agile than the 1050 rs and worse in the longer bends.

I tested a ‘23 demo bike a couple of weeks ago, it’s the best bike I’ve ridden. The electronics aren’t an issue for me - and it was easy peasy to get neutral. I tested a SDR a few weeks before - also a great bike. But for me and my riding, the Triple just does it for me. If I can get the £numbers that work, I’ll have one. I know I’d seen this before, but search for it knowing you’re my most trusted reviewer Chopsy 👍

Blimey, you Britts really know how to make a cracken motorcycle. Those bikes are sexy and responsive. Triples are the way to go. That is why the Japanese are trying to jump on the bandwagon. They see the potential in the Triples. Keep up the good work. Love your video vlogs. Very exciting to watch and hear. We KZbinrs like to hear the bike in all it’s glory. And your riding comments just makes it complete.
@exothermal.sprocket
@exothermal.sprocket 2 жыл бұрын
To be fair, a triple isn't anything new with Japan. While triples really have some unique character, torque production, etc. they aren't as sublimely smooth as an inline-4. Triples have the imbalance issues called "rocking-couple" and it's felt in most of them. It's a course feeling tingle that comes through all contact points. Some fours have a terrible vibration issue too, but there are a few standouts that are absolutely butter. Fours can be very torquey but they have to be built and tuned for that purpose.

Great stuff as usual, what a fabulous thing. Very interested in your comments on the suspension, I've often been surprised how rarely road testers take the trouble to do a bit of basic set up to fit in with their weight, riding style etc. Think we all know what a massive difference it can make to the feel of a bike.

Is it a DIY adjustment like on a mountain bike , or is it a trip to Triumph to adjust it ??
@steveball2307
@steveball2307 2 жыл бұрын
The adjustments themselves are relatively easy to make but the theory behind it can get complicated. Depends a lot on your weight, riding style and the type of riding you do. Loads of info around the subject in numerous forums and vids on here but as a first shot probably best to go with someone experienced in the subject.

Great review & a lovely bike. Not aimed at you at all Chops as I know you're not complaining, but I've never understood why testers & reviewers moan about fully adjustable suspension.....& then make no attempt to change it. By all means say it's too hard or soft from the factory but then surely you need to see if the suspension is good enough to dial out whatever is considered to be the issue. It's just frustrating & lazy imo.

Pulling the clutch in to start. I guess I'm used to it now on my pair of Triumphs. I can see why they did it, no trying to use the starter motor to drive along the road anymore ! Also you as you say finding neutral is difficult, maybe that's another reason :-D I've got a car that also needs the clutch pedal pressed before it will start, so I've been well and truly trained to operate the clutch before starting the engine !

I took mine straight to KAIS Suspension near Manchester and they set mine up... Compression was maxed out on the rear fresh out the box from Triumph and the front was wound right off...! Youd think they would set the suspension up neutral or even offer a set up service to tailor the bike to the new customer. I agree with you the suspension is on the firm side but its immense.... Compared to my old 1050R (2017) which hadnt been set up its night and day.... So much more confidence and my tyres reflected that... great video as always LCR...

Now Triumph needs to make a Daytona 1200 and I recon no one will care that it won't be able to race in WSBK. People want a big Daytona ASAP Triumph! Grate content and thoughts on the bike as usual!! Ps will You gonna be getting the new GSX-S1000 for a proper road test?

Hey Chopsy love the channel. Well after watching countless hours on about 4 different bikes on my short list I finally decided on the Speed triple in orange color. It’s beautiful! I’m coming off an 890 duke r which was actually perfect so I was hesitant but wanted something bigger, a little heavier, and still comfortable. One of the things people kept saying was how comfortable the Speed is. To my surprise as soon as I put my feet up on the pegs I knew that was not going to be comfy for the long run. The pegs on the Speed are way up high. I’m 6’2 225lbs and I know you’re a big guy. Did you think the pegs were in a good position. I’ve ordered some lowering pegs but wanted your opinion on the peg location. Thanks.

3 yrs ago , I had the 2011 speed triple , bought it to slow me down after owning a zx10r , it worked , struggled to go over 127 mph, the zx10 r did 107mph in first if you took it to the Rev limiter, on a wheelie ,, the triumph was a great bike but heavy if you had to push it about , suspension was perfect on mine and I only weigh 11 stone ,great all round bike , although had no electronic aids not even a b s ,, cheers for the review choppy , Shane uk 🇬🇧

My only complaint would be the front cowl should come as stock and there should be a small exhaust like the Street Triple so you can see that awesome single sided rear end.

@@theonlyredspecial lol 😂 no no I don’t ride flat out, it’s still running in so i only do 6000 rpm but I mean like on the motorway and B roads it doesn’t feel planted like the S1000 , it’s like skittish if that makes sense! Maybe cos it’s light and has no steering damper 🤔??

@@theonlyredspecial yeah they’re set to 2:9 rear and 2:6 front I think , I also adjusted the gold dial on the rear shock all the way out ie Anti-clockwise to try and soften the suspension! Maybe that’s upset the handling of the bike maybe?
