Prime Inc didn’t buy Transam. Trans am has been doing a lot of expanding as far as loads. It a partnership to a degree. This applies to OTR Drivers only. Basically you will see Trans Am trucking with prime Inc. trailers this doesn’t apply to the dedicated side for Trans Am but if a driver doesn’t have a load to pick up in his lane, then he can take an OTR load if it’s a prime inc or other loads as well.

@Jsef0801
@Jsef0801 19 күн бұрын
@@MuthaTrucker my take on it, the transam otr and Midwest fleets get more lanes and access to prime terminals. And transam has access to all prime and transam loads and vice versa, prime has access to more tyson/ Cargill loads in the Midwest. I see transam benefitting more as long as they don't get lost in the shuffle of prime drivers. Which there is a high chance of. I know how business's move, and it's nothing I would want to be a part of with the uncertainty.

Prime did that because they been losing drivers to camera situation. So for them to cover their freight is best to buy company that can do power only for them

Same sort of corporate wording I heard 30yrs ago when the armored car company I worked for "merged" with a larger company; we kept our independence for all of six months, then were forced to conform to "California Regulations". Only reason for the "merger" was the CA based company lost the bid on a huge contract in the Northeast and absorbed our family owned company to obtain it.

So glad i left prime. There is barely enough frieght to keep their current drivers along with Wiltrans moving. I went to Crete as a compay driver for .64 cpm. Everything Prime has been doing the last few years has been in a effort to force out their experienced drivers. It's a far cry from the company it was 5 years ago. Everything changed there when covid hit and once Steve Fields retired and that useless individual known as Dennis took over it got even worse. Dennis was a sh*t dispatcher and is sh*t as the safety director. He shouldn't be in trucking at all.

If Tranz Am has OO 's they should read the new contract thoroughly and compare it with the old one because there will be significant changes and usually the big company is the one that dictates the new rules that mostly benefits them but not the drivers.

Does TransAm have quite a bit of freight to work with, is that the motivator? My interpretation is that the megas are staying afloat merely by providing steady coverage over a vast area ready on standby. New drivers are confused...not enough freight, too many drivers, company continues hiring drivers. Look...it doesn't matter that drivers aren't getting over 2,500 miles and sitting more often, the more drivers available gives these companies leverage in this unfairly competitive market.
@Shivris
@Shivris Ай бұрын
The miles dont matter to those lease guys that are sitting. They're paid percentage so now they have a pile of new drivers to compete with frieght for within they're own company. When I left two months ago I was making just enough revenue to cover my expenses and maybe a little paycheck. Most checks were less then what a company driver makes and maybe 1 paycheck a month was 2500+. If you took time off and ended up with a negative balance due to fixed costs it would take you damn near a month to get back to making money again. Prime will always get paid before the driver does.

I honestly think it will not really not hurt anyone. Prime will access TransAm's freight as well. The people who use the Prime load board may see some decreases through.......plus I am sure they are trying to negotiate new fuel rates with adding more trucks.

PRIME INC IS A BUSINESS FIRST....lol they take 28% of the load ...I have a copy of the lease purchase agreement if you're interested... it's insane...1.02 guaranteed

Considering you get fuel and parts/service discounts under prime and they find your loads and process them for you. Also if your broke down they work with the vender getting your truck in and out of the shop. To me it’s worth the 28% so I don’t have to worry about those things

@@JB150WThe help with getting low cost parts, and especially getting vendors to do the work sometimes comes to a screeching halt when you finish that Ace Lease and get your vehicle title. I sat at Savannah for a full month just waiting for authorization for a SAM CAB replacement, and a windshield seal that Freightliner said was the reason why SAM CAB was ruined by a leak. I asked my fleet manager if they were ever going to authorize the work and he asked me how was I going to pay for it. Lucky me, I had a family member who paid the 5k bill, and Freightliner finally scheduled my repair. A few weeks later I was in covid quarantine. It took me 3 years to recover from covid complications. Career over. 2015 Cascadia still in my monthly storage bill.

Yeah that's how they usually type at trans am. I used to work for them. Almost 2 years. August 2022 to June 2024. They are so stupid. Good riddance if they close their doors. I'm with a whole lot better company. Making them miles across the country. Not just to the east coast only. I'm pretty sure they are breaking alot of laws. They don't have chains in their trucks yet they go to Colorado. Stupidest company ever.

@@cultleaderxxii8039Uh. Colorado checks the trucks for chains, even on days there is no trace of snow. How do they get past those chain checkpoints?

I drive for Prime and in a few months I will be switching to their load board program. They require you to own your truck before switching from the lease side. My understanding is that they pay a percentage varying from 77 - 84% depending on varying factors. I'm not sure why TransAm would want to do this unless they negotiated a higher percentage. But even then I'm fairly certain Prime underbids just to get volume so this actually makes me really mad either way. If they are buying during these hard times it is only because they don't pay their company drivers fairly at 50 cents a mile. If they are adding drivers it means less good loads to go around. Can't really blame them though if they are purchasing, this is the perfect inflection point in the market to get cheap.
