@pwd11346 жыл бұрын
Filuo Don't!!!!!!! I did that exact thing and went from 210 lb to 160 lb in 5 months doing mostly low carbohydrate dieting and hitt cardio. I wasn't super focused on weight lifting, and it's sad to say I almost look worse at 160 then I did it 210 because I got skinny-fat :( now my problem is I'm too scared to not be in a calorie deficit because I don't want to be fat ever again so it's impossible for me to build muscle at the moment until I can get it through my head that I need to be in a calorie surplus. I tired bulking for a little while and as soon as I saw some softness on my stomach, back and arms I immediately went back into a calorie deficit because it scared the s*** out of me that all my work shedding that weight was gonna be thrown out the window in a matter of weeks
@terryboys93216 жыл бұрын
@@pwd1134 I had the same issue brother. What I found that works really well for me, is to bulk from september/October until March. From March through May, I shred. June to september/October, I maintain (an even mixture of lifting heavy and cardio) Bulking in the colder months is easier for me because I'm already going to be wearing more clothes so it's easier on the self esteem when your extra weight is a bit hidden. Leaning out in the spring months helps prepare for that summer look we all want but you're muscles are bigger from your previous bulk cycle. Maintain while it's hot out because you're more prone to wearing things that will show off your progress. Thays what works for me anyway and helped me get past the same, "I dont wanna get fat again" feeling.

What are your thoughts on Jeff cavilire not believing in bulking or cutting? He's living proof that it's not necessary.
@buffdudes7 жыл бұрын
We're big fans of the "find what works for you" method. Everyone is a bit different so we'd hate to ever say "no, only this works." Some guys love to eat big and lift big all the time. Some love hypertrophy and being lean. Some love the middle ground. It's all good in our opinion as long as you enjoy doing what you do (and you're not potentially harming yourself in the process)
@ethanjohnson36427 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the response firstly! Second I agree with you on the "what works for you" sentiment. bulking and cutting clearly works for you two and you guys are also living proof that Bulking and cutting does work. However Jeff over the years seems to has made physique better without noticeably go through a bulk or a cut (Obviously at a slow rate spanning a few years) and has maintained those gains without any loss. Just some interesting observations. Anyway looking forward to the rest of the videos on your guy's cut. Thanks again for the response and I will be trying that pizza recipe soon!
@ryanschmidt39137 жыл бұрын
Phil Mitchell One of the things he advises against is counting macros, which frankly, I'd find pretty boring. Instead he has plating proportion suggestions that he says are a much simpler way of keeping good carb, fat, and protein ratios. He's also always coming up with new techniques that can help strengthen us in different areas, such as when he suggested doing some exercises with different dumbbell weights in each hand for core activation. It sounds to me like he's trying to keep people from becoming bored with maintaining their health.
@XxAlex530xX7 жыл бұрын
Actually I was skinny fat and I'm 6'3 220-215 and I've been eating at maintenance for a year and I've lost a ton of body fat and added muscle. Although Its taken a longer time, but it's crazy because I'm maintaining my weight and slowly looking better even though I'm still pretty heavy. I'm about to start a cut so I can lean down around 190.
@rudy19997 жыл бұрын
Yeah bulking is just getting fat. It is not necessary for naturals to gain lean muscle. Scooby also doesn't bulk and is just as big or bigger than these guys.

@cactuarking41387 жыл бұрын
Keyth King Gonna have to disagree there.
@lindasappao9477 жыл бұрын
you can disagree if you want, but 5x5 is too much volume for strength. You can make strength gains off 3x5 alone (+ volume and progressive overload) and lowering weight and doing volume for the other 2 sets (say 8-10 reps) is going to give you more overall size + still great strength gains. 5x5 is simply too excessive and unnecessary. I've done both for 6months + believe me 5x5 is useless. If you want pure strength 5x5 is just straight bad. If you want size 5x5 is bad, if you want size and some strength, 3x5 + 2x8-10 then isolations is superior to straight up 5x5 full body.

@jonniebeans43047 жыл бұрын
Huh. Thanks for the tip. After some further research (aka one google search) I found that the body can only consume 50% of the protein in raw eggs, while it can consume 90% of the protein in cooked eggs. Interesting.
@blazeseraz83307 жыл бұрын
I would not advise you to eat them raw. If you eat them that way (raw) they protein is not as bioavailable to digest as it would be if you cook them
@therooster1917 жыл бұрын
SERGIO RAUL ZUNIGA HERNANDEZ I'm not a 100% sure on this but I'm pretty sure raw eggs have way more nutrition, because when you cook them the heat alters the enzymes, so eating them raw will give you more nutrients, I don't think I'd have the stomach to do that but some people do

Prefer bulk in my opinion lean just seems kinda douchy like they only did it to pic up chicks while bulks are more lifting for size and strength.

Your mindset is totally wrong

Hehehe Hhehe You'd be wrong since most everyone trying to pick up chicks goes for lean.

Some people just like to cut to be lean and that has nothing to do with girls..

Yeah that's usually how it starts out. For me it evolved into someday entering competitions or runs like the spartan races or obstacle courses. All that fat is gonna make it harder for me to pull myself and get over obstacles. Running too has been way easier the more weight I lose, while still lifting for strength. Balance and all that.

Hey Buff Dudes, done some of your workouts and tried your recipes, thanks. I'm 6"2 and 195 pounds, tdee says I need 2800 Cals to maintain weight. I've set my cals at 3200 and macros which I've been tracking for 3 weeks on my fitness pal at 40% Carbs, 40% protein, 20% fat. I train 5 times a week, day 1 shoulders, day 2 chest and triceps, day 3 back and biceps, day 4 legs, day 5 spinning class. All workouts between 45mins and 1hr 15mins. I'd like to get to around 205/210 pounds and look a bit more ripped ( I don't know my fat% ). Do you reckon I'm going the right way about it ? Thanks again, keep up the good work 👍
