These lyrics are more relevant in 2023 than ever before. LEFTFIELD are the G.O.A.T. Still dropping bombs almost 30 years later- like in a time loop where things dont age. First heard Leftield in a surfing video called Hawaii Nine Four. Bought Leftism immediately and it's still one of my go to albums. Start to finish, hidden track used to vibrate the building. To this day I get stoked watching the reaction of someone listening to them for the first time. Too many facets to mention, from the power to poetry. Mint. Thank you

What's funny is, Lydon arguably only did one punk record. And that was Never Mind the Bollocks. For the last 30 years he's done post-punk, dub, rap, dance etc. He always tends to do what you least expect him to do musically. Cant not respect him for that. He could have rode that Sex Pistols train for years, but didnt. Pil were always more interesting than the Pistols musically anyway. Metal Box is a fucking masterpiece. If you put God Save The Queen, Poptones, Rise, World Destruction and Open Up together you wouldnt think it was by the same guy.

Run the Jewels are one of the projects that's been pretty good. for more experimental stuff, the new Tagaq album is pretty fascinating. but there are tons of stuff I haven't heard myself.

John Lydon is a national treasure. I don't think he'd particularly like that label, but it's true :) Lydon's overlooked solo album "Psycho's Path" (1997) - a couple of years after this - is well worth a listen; it's the nearest you'll find to more like this from Mr Lydon, and Leftfield mixed a couple of tracks on the album, presumably returning the favour for this collaboration.
