Not gonna lie. Even if you've read the Harry Potter books, quidditch is so confusing that it would be difficult to explain. Why even have goals and other team members when the game only ends with the golden snitch? In passing i think they say games theoretically could last forever if the snitch is never caught. Now the real question, why is wizard chess just normal chess?
@nikodemasgircys72525 ай бұрын
@@0redfr0g0 Because the snitch gives you alot of points, but doesnt win the match. For example, im pretty sure it gives 150 points, so if the score is 30-185, the team with 30 points wants NOT to get the snitch until they are less than 150 points behind. The snitch is also hard to catch, making the games last long.
@bulldozer89505 ай бұрын
In fairness, I’ve read the whole series multiple times (admittedly not in years) and I couldn’t tell you exactly how quidditch works. I think the even closer thing would be “oh I’ve read Harry Potter I’m supposed to tell you why a muggle is?” Like the very simplest thing you should’ve gotten out of the book

This conversation wasn't so bad until he whipped out the Palestine meme map, proved that he has no idea what a mandate is, doesn't even know which countries were born out of the collapse of the Ottoman Empire and why the Ottoman Empire collapsed and then bragged about stumping Destiny, while Destiny desperately tried to repress Nebraska Steve like the fucking Hulk.
@Bertalan0225 ай бұрын
I'm usually with Destiny on some of his takes, but in the field of history he always takes a big L, and this was no exception. He regurgitated all British arguments regarding the reason why mandates are needed. He might as well call people civilised and uncivilised at that point, but he nicely pivoted and built a slam on the hubris of the Paulsego. edit: for clarification, the L is in the meme map section. Later at 4h12 he gives a fairly good assessment of events.

Yeah man my closest friend is a dispatcher in a city up here in Canada (where progressives use American ACAB sentiments to inform their view on policing). There's truly no one who knows more about what police activity looks like than a dispatcher. Not sure what your experience is, but from what I can tell, the vast majority of Police activity is regular officers (not in swat gear or driving tanks) dealing with mentally unwell people or domestic disputes (usually between mentally unwell people), and most of these interactions go pretty well considering how messy those situations can be. People need to keep in mind how hard that job can be, and that police doing a good job doesn't make the news.
