I'm glad that you gave Demonology a fair chance and saw how fun it was Preach. Demonology was awesome in 6.2 but so many people never gave it a chance. It may have felt clunky and awkward at first, but once you learned how to play it well, it was one of the most unique and fun specs in the game. So versatile, active, responsive and dynamic, lots of tough interesting decisions to make all the time. I am extremely pessimistic about the pet focused revamp. As you mentioned pets in WoW are extremely clunky, especially melee pets. When we used the permanent doomguard talent in early WoD, the doomguard did a massive portion of our overall DPS that we had basically no control over, it was essentially just passive damage, meanwhile all of our spells did less damage, which makes players feel less in control of their dps and like our choices matter less. It also makes your character itself feel weaker. The funnest things about Demo were spells like Chaos wave and Demonic Leap. Now every time Blizzard comes up with some cool chaos themed spell it will probably go to demon hunters.

I want demonology to be a spec that revolves around making your demons stronger. Perhaps demonology being unique by replacing meta with ultra demon cd's. They want to make demo about the demons you summon, players want to keep a cool demon form transformation... add a Metamorphosis replacement to fuse with your demon. Grimoire of Fusion: an auto-learned, spec-only ability. Kinda like Grimoire of Sacrifice, you get the command-demon ability, but a much more powerful buff, and you get awesome humanoid-demon fusion models for each pet. You can fuse with your imp and gain enhanced health regen and maybe some spells get enhanced fire visuals or apply a flame-damage DOT, VW fusing could be a drastic defensive cooldown that also increased threat gen, succubus fusion gives you that melee knockback AND the charm, and adds a melee auto-attack that continues during spell casts, felhunter could be a mana regen CD with an extra CC ability, felguard makes your spells temporarily hit like a truck but be all melee, doomguard... screw it, raw single-target damage buff on top of becoming a dreadlord-looking hybrid, and infernal fusing is a massive AOE damage CD. I thought about this way too much.

Warlocks won't have a 'Demon form' I can almost guarantee that. They want to save that particular ability for Demon Hunters. For Demo I'm envisioning a kind of Necromancer type spec with insta summoning procs going off and waves of Demons. Turning into a Pitlord does sound fantastic though...

+JFHardman I am also leaning towards this. Knowing what's coming for Hunter. I can see Blizz wanting to scrap Meta for Demo. I realise pets can suck but a zoo pet spec is the only thing left that we won't have in Legion. I think Demo will lose all non pet related damage cd. With the main emphasis being on maintaining your swarm of pets uptime. The big cd could be Enslave Greater Demon of your choice, with differing benefits. This would synergise nicely with a swarm of demons ripping everything to shreds while you are commanding the beef to bring the noise.

Personally, I would like to Demo to not be all about demons or all about empowering yourself and instead strike a balance. Demo's abilities would work with the demons at hand, so something like shadow bolt will make your army of imps channel their power into you to empower the shadow bolt. However you can do the reverse by changing into a different presence which you empower your imps and they hit multiple targets with empowered fel bolts. With this idea there would be two cooldowns (not including dark soul). One of the two would empower you for x amount of time by sacrificing your small army of demons and in the process turning you into a demon, infusing your demons spells with your spells visually and mechanically. On the other hand, the second cooldown is a portal that would open behind you where five or more fel hunters come through and begin attacking the target(s).

So my main has been demo since BC when we had Enrage Demon and that red felguard was our only hope, I have had faith in the spec and im happy with where the spec has gone since mop. It's obvious that glyph of demon hunting was demon hunter 1.0 with the 600%threat 400% armor and mastery going into damage reduction so the pitlord tanking idea is viable. Some time ago you mentioned hellfire surrounding your demon, and now your on the "summoning more" track... Holy crap thank you. With the artifact coming in we have creative potential for days with spells that could simply work like dire beast with short cooldowns and demons to manage with offensive spells like hellfire to interact with those demons accordingly! I hope we move away from being a demon and become the rpg summoners we were meant to be with a 'legion' of our own. Keep up the good work love team U.S.of'Murica

Keeping with the idea of a demon styled meta, have the core mechanic of the class very much the same with building demonic fury up to max then having the option to turn into 3 different demons. An imp that is focused on single target abilities, a felguard based strongly around aoe and a succubus that has enhanced CC mechanics with some damage buffs. The depletion of the demonic fury could work similarly to shadow priests insanity but have it so weaker abilities generate fury while stronger ones consume it with your fury continually draining.

on the topic of derpy pets, blink strikes help with hunter pet travel time and could be dps increase even by sacrificing stampede depending how much derp your pet is doing
@Jormungrandrserpent9 жыл бұрын
An idea for warlocks in general that has been rattling around in my head would be to give them "corrupted mana" basically they would have a much smaller base mana pool like 25% of the normal amount and certain "catalyst' abilities would trigger the corrupted mana mechanic. You generate corrupted mana = to 200% of a spells mana cost over 3 seconds which would be like normal mana but you'd use it before your base mana. Working somewhat like arcane mages, the more mana they have the more damage they do. Their lower end damage based on their mana pool would be much lower than all dps is, and their higher end would be the highest of all dps, because as stated below they are taking risks for more power. At certain points like 50% of your total mana, 80%, and 100% consequences start happening for having so much mana, or 'power'; linking into the theme that warlocks take risks for lots of power. at 50% they take 1% of their total hp as chaos damage every 5 seconds, 80% they take 5% of their max hp as chaos damage every 5 seconds, and at 100% they overload into a sorta of "hypermode" that lasts for 30 seconds. in this hypermode they have 20 stacks of a debuff that are consumed on spellcasts, after 30 seconds, they exit this hypermode and any remaining stacks of the debuff does 5% of their max hp times the number of stacks (with all 20 stacks they take 100% of their hp as chaos damage, this would hit through dark bargain).

Meta is being removed from Demonology and good riddance to it, it ruined my fave spec! I chose my demo lock for summoning demons, I don't want to become one! A true Demo lock should stand back, unleash a demonic army and laugh, certainly not charge into battle and turn into one of your own servants!
@PMilk1519 жыл бұрын
It's not just that it's not pick up and play - it's mostly the fact that the power budget of Demonology is completely out of whack compaired to their design budget. 90% of your skills and talents involve and interract with Metamorfosis, and Metamorphosis is AWESOME... but you still have the same problem as BM Hunters - half your damage is still done by your pet, which means that your mastery of managing your complex kit doesn't really mean as much, since you don't presonally do that much damage anyway. So they essentially made a demo warlock without the pet (ie demon hunter) and I assume that the demo warlocks will keep the pet side of things.
@ethanwoodhouse99069 жыл бұрын
+PMilk151 makes sense
@RyanBM9 жыл бұрын
+PMilk151 I agree with you. To extrapolate that logic further, this leads Demo Locks straight into a zoo pet class something which they already quite close to but which isn't really in the game. This *should* facilitate a healthy exodus for the Demon Hunter class but whether this will draw in a new player base for the Demo Locks is anyone's guess.
@MrBinky148 жыл бұрын
what your saying isn't correct, demo isn't anything like bm were your pet does 50% of your dmg specially on cleave about 50 % will be cata then chaos wave then usually the iskar think as it scales with Mastery then ring, ring and the iskar trink can be reversed depending on proccs your pet does nothing eventhough the set buffs it. your imps do decent dmg if you have class trink but then again you wouldn't play demo St as you would play affli. but we will see how it turns out in legion
@ethanwoodhouse99068 жыл бұрын
Necro Arbitrary numbers aside, you understand the point right? The warlock pet is a focus of Demo as well as Meta, due to it having 2 important facets they both suffer in potency. Better would be to separate them and make them stronger.

I like the idea of having a big cooldown as Demonology to make your demon and you merge into one super powerful demonic being, giving you super enhanced abilities for a short time. Seeing as how the demons in Warcraft usually make deals with blood and sacrifice, I think it would be cool to have a new resource where you sacrifice your own health or the health of an enemy. For example when you engage in combat, a new resource will start, similar to rage. It will start to build up with blood you've collected, your enslaved demons blood, and your blood. New abilities will be added, stronger ones costing more sacrifice. Like summoning certain demons temporarily for their utility and short term busrt -Summon forth a wave of felhounds to attack your enemy and silence them in AoE. (medium amount of sacrifice) -Summon a pitlord that immediately charges your enemy and removes magic effects. (large amount of blood -Summon a *Super Voidwalker* That begins to create a black hole around it, preventing enemies from escaping (X amount of sacrifice) Demonology will more than likely end up like how Unholy Death Knights went; the only one to command a pet permanently. Destruction and Affliction will probably have a demonic summoning cooldown.
@songbirdo9 жыл бұрын
Since watching the vanilla opening cinematic, I've wanted to control an infernal as a pet. Then I discovered that was possible, but only for a short amount of time. Lore-wise: Why? Because you're level 100 and a super powerful warlock, apparently. The other thing I've wanted since I discovered Demonology was 100% uptime of metamorphosis, similar to the druids' ability to remain shape-shifted at all times. Changing it from a CD-based ability to whenever you want/have the fury was a good change, but I still want 100% up time!Will becoming level 110 in Legion bring us the power to maintain demon form indefinitely? *crosses fingers* The 100% metamorphosis would also reduce confusion as you'd only use one set of abilities, not two as it is now. This is similar to when it was a cooldown, your normal spells just got more powerful, except it would be the new demon-equivalent abilities. The simplification to Warlocks over the years have made sense: --- Why does Destruction need to maintain three dots? Destro used to cast Corruption and Agony/Doom as a part of it's rotation. --- Why does Affliction need to cast Soul Fire? Because it used to give a huge haste? buff back in Cata! --- Soul shards were for all specs (before demonic fury and burning embers were introduced), basically used solely to cast instant Soul Fire for the above-mentioned buff--- Single person Soul Well casting introduced in MoP (used to take three people)--- Soulstone casting on dead bodies (as brez), used to be only castable on alive people. But, I am sad they removed some of our abilities: Siphon Life (before my time, but moar dots!), all the curses, Shadowflame, Fel Flame, Shadow/nether ward, Dark Intent (the original), Fire/Spell Stones, almost lost unending breath for a while there, too... I know I'm forgetting some...

I always thought it would be cool to have demo be a spec where you could change what demon you turn into which would change your loadout. Like summon a felguard, merge with it, and now you're a melee char with some changed lock spells thrown in for flavor. Make which demon you have actually mean something
@Baneriod9 жыл бұрын
I personally love the way Demo is now, it is sad to see it go. But I had an idea for legion for demonology warlocks. Demonology is about the study and use of demons and I agree that I would love to see more demons implemented. I am hoping though that we get a choice of demons and we get spells that interact with what demons we summon. Like if we get a Pitlord, it is a super strong tanky dps minion that we can only have one of, but if you dont want that, you can instead maybe decide to summon three felguards(or whatever would be balanced). Or if you wanted to have a pack of felhounds, you get those(Granted maybe not all have the interrupt ability). And as for interactions, maybe certain events with your damaging spells trigger effects with the demons. Like if you have the pit lord, perhaps a critical strike with one of the damaging spells you have triggers your pitlord to have a felcleave for a short time. Or maybe your felguards get shadow imbued weapons while you have a certain dot up. Another idea would be for the boring imp, your first demon. Perhaps after a certain level, you imp improves. Each spell you casts gives it a stacking buff and when its stack reach max, it consumes them allowing it to cast super spells or something along those lines with the ability to consume it earlier to have a shorter time of using it maybe. I also had an idea where it'd be almost like the BM hunter except each of your spells(Even your normal damagespells) Cause your demon to do something else, like maybe your basic damaging ability triggers a kill command like attack from your demon, or maybe your crits do that.

I agree with the visuals over practicality argument. I've been trying Boomkin recently, and when I was looking on icy veins for the rotation it essentially said "hurricane is shit, dont use it". I dont care if its shit damage-wise, you're conjuring tornados to tear and destroy your enemy (and in my opinion it looks even better if you have the glyph that swaps it to astral storm) and thats what keeps it on my hotbar. I keep it so if there is a time I can use it in downtime, just for the visuals, then its fine in my books.

So we have the 'holy trinity' Tank, Deeps, Heal specs, and we have abilities that let us do CC, Buff & Debuff, but why not have whole specs based around CC // Buff // Debuff? Like, they could still do damage or heal or whatever, but mainly they would be focused on throwing the proverbial wrench into the enemy's engine. If some of the Legion classes are going to have one of their specs removed, then I think it'd be a good opportunity to keep three specs but make one of them like this.

I would kinda like to see a pet rotation like GW2 has with weapons. you cycle out certain pets while the abilities of another are on cd. Each of the demons have unique abilities that can be utilized depending on the circumstances, like the need for heavy aoe or like you have said to tank for a short amount of time.
@jaquanepatterson25379 жыл бұрын
hey guys i'm just throwing my hat out here, i like demo since i started in MoP and a little bit sad there taking away meta but i see this as an interesting think about it each demon we have has a special thing about them the wrath/fel guards are warriors that can take down multiple enemies at once, the shivarra/succubus hide in shadows till fight time they can cc a single enemy and have a powerful attack that hits multiples, the observer/fel hound remove buffs on their targets and interrupts spell casting, void lords/void walkers can keep multiple targets targeted on them without even falling below half there health and the imps have a few handy support spells that helps there master in multiple situations and your mastery increases the damage of your demon servants so mastery will mostly be the same. Now imagine all these guys at your side through every fight all of them have the spells and abilities the plain demo lock lacks so it'll make sense to have all them with you its like you have a miniature dungeon party except these guys follow your every command. now to fix that little pet bug we could have a spell that makes all our pets switch targets at once and to avoid robot overload trying to manage multiple pets demos have more pet commands than the average warlock so if they don't want wait for one of there pets to finally take notice hit a button and they'll do it in a flash. so as a resource for demos might have something like nether charge its a resource that builds from your demons using their abilities and used for various powerful abilities like affliction and destruction resources they are 4 charges in total when the warlock is in fight and has build up four charges he can choose to either use them to unleash powerful attacks of his own buff/heal his minions or spend some to summon even more demons or use all of them to send his pets into a powerful frenzy increasing attack/spell and haste of each minion by 50%, just because he's a pet master doesn't mean he cant join in the fun. I this is just a spec idea i came up with a little while ago when i heard there changing demo so i thought of a version of it that would be demon master while still relating to its sister specs by having a resource gained a special way and used in special abilities its still has things to get made like glyphs and talents but its main spells and remember its just an idea tanks for reading.

I would like to see Demonology using demons as a resource. Kind of like imp swarm, but treating them like Destruction embers. They could be summoned passively (shadow bolt etc.) but also stronger ones through delibrate methods. For example, "Sacrifice 6 imps to summon an additional doomguard", "Sacrifice 2 doomguards to summon a pitlord". Obviously this would need to be balanced out and I'd presume that your non-pet/non-direct control demons shouldn't be permanent.

I would like the Demonology Spec to be kind of like a Witch Doctor. You would have 3 Fel Hounds around you doing poisons, slows, or AoE effects. A Wrathguard up at the same time smacking things around, and 5 imps throwing fireballs at every thing. With a Pitlord cooldown pet. You would be a one warlock army.

My suggestion: Demonic Attunement/Demonic Tactics as the new resource. Works the same way as DF (builds up over the fight.) And you use it to summon portals that unleash badass demons to fight for you/buff the people around you. I think it would be awesome to have some giant Shivarra dancing around the melee classes shooting pulses of dark energy that buffed them with on hit Shadowfire damage with a visible glowing weapon enchant. Or a giant Voidlord to absorb % AoE damage from everyone with X yards of it until its HP is gone. Even just a Pitlord to wreck shit. Although it would probably end up with just an observer to channel a beam into you over X seconds to empower your abilities being used all the time, I think a change like this would add value to the class in a raid as well as keep it fun to play. Could have some immense visuals with a change like this too.

"Darkness, hi! Wasssup? The demon hunter called? No, I don't have his number..." =p Personally I just want the spec to be viable again, and preferably good against melee in pvp like it used to be. Right now I'm forced to play affliction simply because I don't have the gear to do anywhere near as good with demo, and I'm already feeling like I have to offspec destro just to be able to deal with trash. But all of the ideas you listed are good. More demons to summon would be cool, time limited role change CDs would be cool, I could finally get to tank as lock and not have to hear that I'm only good behind a summoning stone =p If we got the ability to turn into a pit lord and tank, we could actually save whole raids. And the hound idea is also awesome, people have been crying for mounted combat for ages, having a CD that works like super feral spirits would be one way to add it, people would obviously call it OP just because they want all casters to blow their CDs to kite and then die to burst of speed tunneling but I'd be perfectly happy to have a "turn melee for half a minute and fuck up rogues if they don't cloak/vanish" cooldown...

I will miss the old demonology, but i'm optimistic about the new one. Here's what i'd like to see: make demo locks basically be a gateway for a small army of demons. Examples: Impbolt as a filler spell - small damage and summons a wild imp. Implosion as a short cd spell - moderate aoe damage, summons 4 +2 for each target hit wild imps Doom a slow ticking dot - 1min dot, ticks every 15s for no damage, but summons a lesser doomguard to attack the target for 20s. I have a few more ideas on this, but i wanna know what you guys think :)

Wow, I really like the transformation idea, that should really be the thing for demo warlocks in Legion. And Meta is a demon hunter spell (in truth, only Illidan could really use meta), I don't see why that was brought to warlocks in the first place. But yeah, turning into a pit lord or a dreadlord would be very badass. Blizz, you have some work to do.
@pi_3149 жыл бұрын
Given thematically I think Demonology is mastery over demons, I think they really need to emphasise that. I kind of like the T18 set bonus, I think they need to perhaps give us additional summoning buttons - e.g., we can summon a dog/satyr/eredar at (just for argument) 150/400/1000 demonic fury respectively, while keeping the imps as a passive. Maybe even just make it a single button where it summons a demon based off the amount of fury we have, so we can just fury dump as often as we want, or we can save it up to do burst.
@totdud9 жыл бұрын
something id like to see since we dont have any dedicated summoner style specs make demonology focus more on that like you can summon demons sacrifice demons for stronger demons pop meta and fuse with your demons to have different meta forms that can do different things it could be verry interested depending on what bliz ends up doing with demo warlocks
@HospitallerBiologis9 жыл бұрын
To be honest I just want demo to esentually throw demons onto a target dogpileing it to DPS. Similar to how wild imps kinda pile up around you. Esentually replacing spells with summons that target what you cast on and maybe a spell that causes them to target your summoned demon so you can esentually redirect your "dots" onto your demons target. You could make them easier to track by adding a debuff to the demon's target with the summoned units remaining duration. But like you said their pet AI is pretty bad and likely would have patching issues.

So using the all mighty Google, I searched up the WoWWiki (Something I haven't looked at in a long time.) and found this tidbit about Demonology Warlocks. "Demonology is the study and practice of using and amplifying demonic powers and the ability to summon items or Demons, mostly using Soul Shards. The craft of conjuration is the primary focus of the warlock, and in taking on the mantle of a demonologist the warlock sacrifices knowledge in other areas of arcane practice." With this definition in mind as to what it means to be a Demonologist in WoW, one could see a ton of potential to it. The Warlock sacrifices knowledge in other areas in order to master the demon itself. What this means to me is that Demonologist are bent on domination of the Fel powers. So instead of using things like Shadow Bolt, or Corruption (Arcane Practices that are referred to in the depiction above) Demo Locks would utilize the powers of the Demons of the Fel themselves. Shooting out pillars of green flame, summoning forth a burning inferno that engulfs both them and their enemies, Shifting their form to a new location in a fiery ball of death that explodes upon impact, the list goes on. Heck, they could even summon in the weapon of a Felguard and unleash a spinning fury of blade and flame. If Blizzard wants to make a cool Demo Lock that fits with the theme of the class within the lore of the game, they need look no further than the very thing that powers them to begin with. The demons of the Fel. Look at what powers they posses, what abilities they have, those are the abilities that the Demo Lock should be channeling. If their idea to make Demo more demonology focused is to let them have multiple pets out, that just doesn't do it.

I think it would be cool if they made them like a niddile or grey mane thing where they can become their demon. so if you have a felguard out as a 45-1 min cd you become ur felguard(leaving a shadow of yourself behind) doing increased damage and being a badass. after the effect you return to your shadow and keep playing.
@psi9159 жыл бұрын
A Small demon army idea would be cool, make it so you can have a demonic entourage with imps constantly phasing into reality as your spells rip holes in the fabric of reality. Essentially the Fantasy would be you are a Dark and chaotic overlord who uses fel energy to destroy your foes while accompanied by a retinue of multiple demons. Just make it so you can have a fel guard, fel hound and either a void walker or succubus all out at the same time. (you would only be able to use tactical abilities on one of them tho) Also instead of just wild imps maybe have it so other demons could also be pulled into reality as well, such as smaller hounds and void walkers.

TL;DR: I think demo being pet focused is fine by me. Meta as a long lasting but long CD buff would be awesome. EDIT: Riding on the back of a demon into battle would be COMPLETELY AWESOME. Felhunter battle mount, hell yeah. Or my gnome standing on an abyssal's shoulders. (I will macro it to make Giant Robo references and I won't feel bad about doing it.) I didn't roll a warlock until 6.1. I then power leveled my demo-lock from 1 to 100 in a week, loving every second of it. Except the meta toggling. Only time I had a reason to stick to demon form for any length of time was when I was OoM. Which I did often, because I just love going all out. Burn all mana, use meta, use all fury, then I have my mana back. Also loved that demons had something I could do with them besides saying 'go there.' Though I went Lone Wolf with my marksmanship hunter, because I wanted a non-pet gun using class. (I leveled her without a pet, just for the hell of it. Oddly, the few dungeons I joined, no one noticed.) Recently made an Unholy DK. I like that I get a stacking pet damage buff, but the pet itself is pretty boring. I've got a defensive cooldown and I can tell it to walk somewhere, that's it. Then I set up affliction as my alt spec, with grimoire of sacrifice, which I love, too. Though there are very few specs I don't like. (Guardian druids and blood DKs, basically. Holy priests a spec I like how they play, I just prefer disc vastly more.) Currently have nine 100s, a 96 and a 95. I love my alts.

The biggest issue with Demonolgy is that it has it's hands in too many pockets. It has a cool transformation that increases the lock's damage, it has multiple DoTs (more than destro), and it has lots of pets. There is no identity to the spec. Destro hits hard with CB, affliction's DoTs melt faces, demonology....take a guess. The only real solution is to reduce the options it has. You have to get rid of atleast 1 of the 3 major sources of it's damage. Gotta have identity!
@Cinders939 жыл бұрын
I don't know exactly what they've got in mind for demo, but all I gotta say is I want Imp-losion as a spell. Based off the hearthstone card, you basically open up a nether portal in a dude's chest so imps can crawl out. Could really push the abuse, but I think it could be a cool mini-CD to toss into a rotation.

I like the fact that you put the good old PG outro at the end of the video, love it ^^ But yeah I agree with what you said about the visuals of spells, I play a paladin and I love the way how some of my spells look, but in reality they hit like a wet fish which sucks :/ I'm hoping from what I saw in the Legion announcement trailer that they are going to update the visual effects of spells because you know the part where they announce the new honor system, the way the paladin and death knight attack each other looked and felt different to me, I don't know it might of been just an over dramatic attack for the trailer, but it does make me hope that they are looking into making the visuals more cool looking so that we don't have to feel like we're missing out on something that looks awesome about our classes :/

What I'd like to see is warlock becoming a swarm class ( I saw someone using this word. Not sure if it's easily understandable ). Something like, summon a bunch of demons, they do 1 or 2 hits and are gone. Then you can start adding flavor to this. Like being able to explode your demons for extra damage or having a CD that summons a bigger demon that stay in the field for a bit longer. And you can sacrifice your minor demons to make it stronger or something like that. When I made my warlock, I was expecting a class able to do more or less this, and ended up quite bored by the class's gameplay. I can totally understand people wanting to become demons or having permanent summons.

I'm one of those weird players who enjoyed demonology spec until I had to use metamorphosis. I would suddenly mix up spells and find that I wasted too much demonic fury. I would like the rotation of the spec to remain largely the same, but the spec should have enormous synergy with demonic minions. I don't have enough experience with the spec to really say whether or not they should even keep metamorphosis (since demon hunters are getting it).

+Cynical Inquisition I think he means like preach said, one gets into the melee and shit goes down, one stays at range casting and pit lord does some cleave or if Blizz so feel like it, tank for 30 seconds, and maybe something based around the artwork of erredar lord that uses dark powers to heal, personally I don't mind the idea of it all but it kinda has to be done right, Blizz seems to have a lot of work to do to make enough of the player base happy, I'm on both sides of the fence, I loved demo at the start of the expac because it was metamorphosis but I don't mind that same spell going to the demon hunters because that's what they do, it's not a demon hunter if they don't. But at the same time I liked the ranged metamorphosis where we cast soul fires and touch of chaos and chaos wave. Preach has made points in the video and like he has said in previous videos, people have some extraordinary ideas for certain topics in the game but Blizz can only go a few ways with a single spec
@Flydroi9 жыл бұрын
Aidose98 I guess that makes sense. I have always been part of the group that thinks demonology should be based more on demon pets than turning into a demon. Metamorphosis would be better suited as like a DPS cooldown rather than part of a DPS rotation. Granted, demons would need a rework.

They've already given us the ability to directly command our pets in one way or another on our main hotbar. Demonology should have more demons summoned at once to make us different from hunters and even frost mages who have the best pet in the game IMO, and we should have more direct control of our minions via hot keyable pet commands, think having "Demonic command" or "Kill command" for each special ability, and give us actually useful abilities on our pets again, remember SL/SL in BC? Fel hunters were pretty much the MVP of that spec due to it being a secondary entity that could use actually useful in combat.

Holya Preach demonic brofist to you. I wanted to rage because I loved demo but instead look to the future: - Why isn’t there a glyph to cause hellfire/demo aura to be cast from your pet. I think channelling stuff through you demons was a missed opportunity in wod. - Love the idea of changing meta into morphing into a demon hell yeah! - Wild imps being a cast ( not imp swarm )(think this was a mmo champ thread) Instead of having it proc of soul fire have it a summon with x charges and keep it on cool down to keep your imps out (Impswarm could work basically as it does now bust vs sustain). - I also like to see a spell like chaos bolt that very visual that when you cast it your demons casts another version of it at the same time, try to increase the synergy with the demons. - I would also like to see doom and corruption remove or doom reworks so it ticks and summons a demon like vanilla (imp or other small demon not a devalued doom guard) - I also agree with your point on demonic servitude removed its boring. Doomguard become screen hog imp and infernal was worse than a voidlord and again a screen hog. - Disagree with pitlords I think there just a bit too big to be used well, dreadlords would work fine Thanks from the angry demolocks.

I would actually love to see my warlock get a real tank spec. Using the Pit Lord form. Even the artifact idea is there, have us reforge Mannoroths spear/glaive thing. There could be some cool ideas with using your Pit Lord blood to temporarily buff dpsers as well. Would definitely need some fleshing out. But I don't see any reason you couldn't still have demon hounds as a CD and things like that. We'd be embodying a general of the Legion after all. We could really use another tank spec with ranged dps options. Especially with two new melee coming in.
@Kipofifthsense9 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you Preach. In my own personal opinion Meta should be exactly like Shadowform, and the spells it enhances now it enhances in exactly the same way in this new form should you choose to go into it. Think oldschool stance dancing for Warriors. I also think they should completely remove the permanent pets altogether for Demo in Legion and instead make them short cooldown abilities that the Lock chooses to use whenever, even summoning all at the same time perhaps as a burst method. Personally I think more summons and more interaction with the demons, likevarious short buffs for them or whatever it might be. It's a spec that could have so much flavour if they right creative minds came to rework it. Still in development though, fingers crossed!

Also I don't see other warlocks using those demons either it's just used for demonic sacrifice. I'd to see more use from my Imp, Succubus and Fel Hunter (or their boosted equilevants) maybe have a talent that allows you to summon all your demonic minions as a dPS cooldown kind of like that one Hunter talent/skill.

What if Demo could just turn into any demon they wanted, change the level 100 talents to do the exact same thing except altered slightly. For example, change one Cataclysm to turn you into a pit lord and give you the ability Cataclysm, give the Doom Lord form Demonbolt and give the third talent a mistweaver type playstyle, you charge in on your Hounds and start hammering the boss and give you shadowbolt/soul fire procs. :3

as difficult as this would be....I would like a demonology Warwick to become similar to the witch doctor in Diablo but with more control. have multiple demons surrounding the warlock. The lock itself has a few spells but each demon has auto attacks and a spell that it can use. like you would summon an imp that would stay by your side and cast your shadow bolts. Basically like you are a general of your demons that you literally command to do all your bidding for you. I understand the complications with this but it would be awesome
@Theninja1149 жыл бұрын
I don't think Demonology warlocks will be turning into anything. What I would like to see, is demon summons, that you play. Not as a pet. So demonology warlocks have three spells. Shadowbolt, Soul fire, Hand of Guldan. That's it. However, they have another 1-2 spells, that change, based on the extra demon you summon. That way you're rolling through special demons to change your rotation on the fly. Maybe one you cast, allows you to do some mad AOE while moving, maybe one makes you lash out with the demon's power (movement), one casts curses on the thing. So instead of having a metemorph form. The metemorph abilities are casted -through- a special demon summon. Think Shaman totems, but cooler. A rotation would look like this. Cast Void Terror, gives ability to cast Doom. You cast Doom, then fall into your rotation. But wait, shit ton of adds? Cast Fel hounds. Pack of fel houds attack target and cleave. Need to move? Cast Nathrezim, it will cast an instant spell, that can be used while moving. Oh shit, Fel lord for some taunt/shield action. All on top of your current demons. So in all. Shadow bolt, Soul Fire, Hand of Guldan, Command Demon 1, Command demon 2.
