Damaging a 90s Camry is like kicking a faithful old dog to car enthusiasts. These where always cheap, dependable cars for every family that struggled to make ends meet, every high school or college kid who worked two jobs over the summer to buy their first car, every fastfood delivery job. The Camry exists to serve all of us, never complaining about missed oil changes or mismatch tyres. 🙂

Im afraid I don't share the sentiment. There are plenty of cars and trucks just as good as the wonderful Camry, yet those don't get a single word or mention. Unfortunately, there are many "faithful old dogs" getting kicked around, but the car community stays divided.
That’s mostly lifter tick. And yeah, it’s gonna be pretty bad after running out of oil. Lifters probably need adjustment as well.

The error in the "treatment" is what broke the engine before the test started. Either he made a huge mistake or someone gave him totally wrong instructions. I've done the treatment myself to multiple of my cars and at no point you are supposed to run the car without oil. You install the first bottle, idle, drive a certain distance, stop the car, drive some more and then replace the oil. You then install the second bottle, idle and drive with the stuff inside the oil until your next oil change.

I owned three of them, and they were all great cars. Drove them forever, then bought another. I drove about 60k miles a year, and drove this generation Camry for almost two decades.
