The chorus seems to be stolen from the chorus of "Famous Blue Raincoat" by Leonard Cohen. So yes, Leonard Cohen made music like this. Much better music actually. Sorry, I hope you can still enjoy it! 🙂

@@jane_7193 Hey Jane, there's a song with the same melody in the chorus from a few years earlier and that chorus ist about you. 😀 It says: "Jane came by with a lock of your hair, she said that you gave it to her that night that you planned to go clear." It's the song "Famous Blue Raincoat" by Leonard Cohen. I guess they took the melody for the chorus from that song.

I found this 45 in a thrift store when I was 18 or 19 years old. That was when I began to really fall in love with 70's soft rock, through the records I'd find every week. Hon.... you will never get over the loss. I lost my baby brother in April of 92. That shit never goes away. However, what you can do is make an attempt to go AROUND the hurt. It is important to understand that our loved ones never left us. Look for pennies, feathers & other signs. All you have to do is ask them to come visit you. It may not be on your timeline, but the REAL spirits will drop in. As soon as I realized that my brother was still around, I was able to be in less pain . You will know if the visit is real or not. Many hugs to you.

Thank you for penning this level of authentic suffering in the human experience. I hope Life and the Love of God have brought you Beauty, Hope, Renewal, despite the profound losses. I wish for you all things Precious and the Heart of God to find you, Always. I have had my share of profound, rare tragedy; and forgiveness and the Heart of a Real God that has been with me through it all has been the currency of my healing and restoration. Don’t know if you will read this, but hope it is a good read for someone.

Woke up with this song on repeat in my heart! Remembering my beautiful Momma 🕯️ and all of the happy moments in the late 70’s. Rest in Gods’ eternal peace and know you are so very loved and missed every second -morning, noon and night! #BarbaraAnnConleyJulian 💗

Beautiful!! I just lost my momma yesterday. I grew up in the 70’s and 80’s. I miss her so much already and don’t know how I am going to survive without her. 😢
Magnificent! As good today as it was when Leo first brought it out

Endless Flight was one of the first albums I owned. Loved the pure emotion of When I Need You from the beginning and it became my parent's song. Since they both passed in 2018 and 2022, I tear up every single time this song plays on the 70s station. Nothing brings on that emotion like this song.
