Right choice. Stop, evaluate and move in another direction. Again, your attention to detail and craftsmanship is making this a beautiful build. Well done.

Thank you tullahomacC! With that volt meter, it is really easy to keep an eye out on the charge of the battery, everything is working as it should and I am really happy with it! Thanks for watching!

Love those switches! Every camper I've seen has toggle or push-button switches. You're the first I've seen. use touch switches. I think they look spectacular. Also love the match of the cover with the door handles. We have almost recovered from our recent "surprise adventure" and are ready to finish her teardrop. It's so close, and so is yours!

Thanks Eli! Yup... pretty happy with the switches, I do think they look pretty good, and they work great! Looking forward to seeing yours finished! Mine is pretty close... but getting the time to work on it getting a little tight. Had to get some things out of the way! Trying to get it in gear!

Where the mahogany panel is screwed to the cabinet face you may want to open up the four screw holes a bit to allow for seasonal wood movement. Just a thought ...

Thanks Michael! I will keep that in mind and watch for any movement. Great tip, thanks!

I think on those new switches the light isnt on all the time, but the circuit sensing your motion is. So there is going to be a constant draw from the battery, much like in a car with your keyless remote always drawing power. If you have an micro amp meter you can see how much. Coming out good.

Good point. Be interesting to see how much it draws over a little time. I'll most likely install a shutoff switch on the battery for those times when trailer is not in use, and use a small solar setup to keep it charged on the outings.

Great video! May I suggest something. You put a lot of work to hide as much screws as you can so for the switch panel, I was thinking to use a couple big strong rare earth magnets instead of the brass screw. Good luck with the new roof.

THAT... is a super idea! I did not think of that. That would have been a great little feature to have. I didn't like the idea of the screw heads showing, and didn't want to use the little wooden button heads. Wish I knew about the magnets before hand. Next build!! :) Thanks for that tip!

That sucks your plywood didn't work out. Have you thought of using 1/8" Baltic Burch plywood. It comes in 60" x 60" sheets. Your doing a great job.
@OregonBatman
@OregonBatman 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Next build will definitely use the 1/4"! None of the lumber yards around here have exactly what you want when you need it... especially the Baltic Birch which would have worked out great! I ended up using a Mahogany product called Miranti. It's 1/8". Worked out great

I read plywood delaminates over time, is that going to be a problem? Unless like marine grade or something.
@OregonBatman
@OregonBatman 4 жыл бұрын
Not going to be a problem for this particular build. The plywood will be sealed by the filon and no exposure to outside. I built a few boats in the past and used the marine grade ply, and that held up really well. Just have to make sure that both sides are sealed and no moisture.
