We need to keep an EYE on her.
Samantha Lotus is a holistic wellness influencer who can heal your vision for the low price of $11. Her masterclass teaches you that vision is affected by thoughts and that we can fix most of our illnesses with faith. She started going viral on social media and TikTok after claiming optometrists aren’t telling you the truth about the eye care industry. Society, chemicals, and our beliefs are causing people's vision impairment. A Twitter user took her course and decided to share her findings - the information Samantha Lotus teaches you is questionable. Vision Healer Believes Glasses Cause Blindness #edvasian

@@jelyse14Scary isn't it. Ironically, as a teacher you learn that about 50% of bad behaviour in school is caused by kids who can't see the board properly but haven't realised they need to tell someone. They get bored (pun) and upset from not being able to follow the lesson and start acting up. If it goes on long enough they fall behind and then they're permanently behind because most kids lose their self esteem from failing so much and they can't catch up. So they stay acting up regardless. It's really sad. Key takeaway is that eye exams should be free and regular especially in childhood. So many people have poor eyesight and don't even realise because they can "get by."

This is the biggest problem with her content: she sprinkles in actual truth in her quackery. Like yes, there are doctors (at least in North America) that over prescribe medications (especially for those that make commission off of meeting a quota for prescriptions). However, when specifically focusing on eye health: most optometrists want to ensure they give you the correct prescription because if it's too high wearing those lenses can deal more damage to your vision, and if too low they're not preventing eye strain meaning they are putting their patient in pain/distress (and either way they can get their license revoked if it happens often). Also yes, "eye yoga" (practicing focusing on a near than slightly far object, going back and forth after a minute on a focus point for 10 min a day with both corrective lenses and without (depending on how bad your vision is)) as well as focusing breaks (staring at computer for 1 hour? 10 minute look at something farther away than arm's reach. It's better to do 20 min : 1 min, but with how attached we are to screens that isn't happening) are helpful tips FROM OPTOMETRISTS to help lessen damage we do to our eyes. But holistic medicine can only help so much, and sometimes bodies are just shit because of genetics, environment, and trauma to areas of the body (i.e. for eye trauma: staring at the sun, opening your eyes in the pee-filled public cholorine pool, aggressively rubbing eyes that have objects that scratch your eyeball like sand or eyelashes on them) are not something we can just erase from our bodies. Also how she talks and looks at the camera reminds me of friends who have had a psychosis in the past where they believe they have all the powers in the world/are a god (or the God) and I hope that if that is the case she is able to get professional help. (Not an insult, a genuine concern for another human being)

When you stop using glasses when you have minor problems or only problems with one eye, the healthier eye starts to compensate. In time, the healthy eye will start to get tired and the eye with worse vision starts to get very lazy. You can start getting squint, headaches, eye-aches etc... I'm not optometrist, but I stopped using glasses for my astigmatism as a teenager, and after 10 years and continuous headaches and small squint, I was told this.

This woman is a slap in the face for people with OCD. She says ‘just choose your thoughts’ no we can’t. And her poor followers with OCD. They’re probably extremely distressed about “why can’t I just choose my thoughts. She says anyone can do it, why can’t I?”

2:09 as a person who has had chronic tonsillitis, this makes me annoyed. It literally took months to convince the docter to send me to a specialist and then another few months for the specialist to tell me i needed them removed. After i had my tonsils removed i was able to finally not get sick every week or so.

I wear my glasses 24/7 (except when going to sleep lol). I am comfortable being around the house without my glasses for a bit. But I won't be able to last being out in public without my glasses...

If only my dad knew that he didn’t have to have that prostate cancer surgery 🙏🏼 he could have just manifested the cancer to be gone! Will tell him this today. I’m sure he’ll react great to these good news. I can also just rip out his hearing aids - he just haven’t WANTED to hear enough. I’ll make sure to tell him all of this. Jesus 😂

The nearest thing to her bull is that we know spending so much time indoors and on screens rather than outside doing things that require more active eye stressors is increasing the number of kids that suffer from vision problems requiring glasses. But that’s it. Glasses aren’t a sign of any spiritual malady, brown eyes aren’t any “worse” than blue eyes (and the suggestion that they are the result of some inner physical pollution or mental dullness or darkness is offensive at best and buying into the history and lessons of deep seated racism at worst). Opticians are not lying to you, and this woman cannot cure you of your need for glasses. Glasses are a wonderful thing! They enable so many of us to overcome all sorts of issues, and people should embrace them with gratitude. Sure, it would be nice not to need them, but if you do, it’s awesome that science and society lets you have access to them. And dark eyes are beautiful, not to mention less predisposed to some cancers and light-related damage due to having more melanin. As someone with blue eyes, I suck at being in the sun, and I spent much of my youth wishing my eyes were super dark brown so that they looked almost black, it’s so strikingly beautiful. Balls to this anti-science, vaguely-racist, MLM-shilling, spiritually and ethically blind woman.

Bad lenses of an inappropriate perscription can make your eyes worse. This is why its important to keep up your checks. "Eye Yoga" Exercises as such can help with eye health. But it is no actual fix. I'm near sighted but can use a computer screen OK (things get real fuzzy about sword length away from me, yes I had a hobby that this was important). Around the house I go without, but going out, its glasses. I also try to have fun with Glasses. Different styles etc.

Brown/Dark eyes appreciation Post ❤ 😂 Brown eyes can also have interesting nuances (greenish, reddish, goldish/honey-like, orange) but (imo) never lack any warmth or depth ^^ (no blue-/green eye color bashing, but its the property I associate the most with Brown eyes) To me it feels like comparing pastel hues (e.g. blue/gray eyes) to brighter/(often) more intense colors. Every eye colour has its own beauty and it would be quite bland and boring if all people were to change them into the same color. I personally love my dark brown eye colour and would not want to change it (permanently; color contacts just for fun: maybe, why not :3 ). Just a little rant(?)/pep talk(?) for anyone that needs it 😂 ❤

I was selling at a craft fair last month, and I heard this woman on the next booth saying "Well, if god didn't want me to have tonsils, he wouldn't have given me ones.". I had my tonsils out when I was 5. Because not only did I have tonsillitis, but my tonsils were too big for my throat since I was born. If I hadn't had them out I would have died. "God" wanted me to choke on tonsils. The bastard.
