@@YvesEnBart drove one; great suspension and handling !!! BUT it had the wrong engine; the 2.0 without Hybrid and that´s a NoGo. Perhaps the UX 300electric is the best choice of them !

I feel your making the same mistake many auto reviewers make in putting most emphasis on performance .. the majority of people will never be interested in these things.. comfort and reliability are far more important to the majority of buyers.

I don't think it was an 'emphasis' it was merely information that the channel decided to include. That said, the depth of the reviews this channel provides is clearly leading the KZbin pack, especially in comparison to carwows Matt who just blabs on about bottles and door bins.

There is basically no competition from any western manufacturer for the UX. Lexus is light years ahead of any German manufacturer in the fields of quality control, reliability and hybrid technology. The fact that people in Europe don't buy Toyota or Lexus is just a cultural thing. They rather pay tens of thousands of euros for fixing their BMWs, Mercedes and Volvos after the warranty expires.

Just bought one! looked at Discovery Sport (poor reliability) Alfa Stelvio ( appalling reviews on dealerships-come on Alfa, what are you doing?) Volvo XC40 (nice but expensive). The whole experience at the dealership in Leeds was fantastic. An absolute class apart. Already have a SC430 which I have traded in as I want to go "greener". What a car the UX is-oozes quality. Will be a keeper for me. For the complete car buying experience get down to a Lexus dealer. Even if you don't end up buying one you will be treated like royalty.

Stelvio and Giulia are both wonderful driver's car, quality seems to be great to (considering the reputation), but those dealerships are killing the brand. Unfortunately that means I am also driving a Toyota and a Lexus as opposed to an Alfa Romeo -- which pains my heart.

Love these cars. The attention to detail is exceptional. I don't believe you get the same level of customer support and reliability from any other brand. If you were spending your own cash, Lexus is by far the best overall brand in the luxury car segment.

I assume the e-cvt in the Lexus is the same as in the Toyota. If it is then it doesn't have a belt. It's a series of planetary gears.

Yes, correct. This reviewer as good as he is at this, seems to get confused about the mechanics of these CVTs. The ECVT works so much better than a belt driven setup, although im a fan of both.

Ive had a CVT Subaru Outback and you do need to understand how the CVT is designed to operate to get the best out of them. I like CVTs for the smoothness, I never needed to floor the accelerator to make good progress, its all about matching revs to engine speed. This Lexus looks a great car.

Amazing review! Are the paddle shifters for the regenerative breaking? every other review says they are to manually shift gears. Or do threy somehow do both? because i currently drive a Honda CRV and the paddels shifters help manually control/operate the regenerative breaking. is UX same in this sense? even somebody at the lexus dealership told me UX f sport paddle shifters are for changing gears. You are the only review who say this about paddle shifters and i hope its true? great job again so much detail

Blake Swan This whole segment is full of fakes. I have no idea why anyone wants to buy this kind of underpowered, overweight, semi-agricultural looking, lumpily styled non-utility vehicle. It is far from unique. Nearly all its competitors are equally poorly conceived - though possibly not quite so well constructed.
