Once we understand the laws of the universe created by God, we know that no thing (living or non living) can exceed its design. Since 1971-72 I have (very much) listened to and read R C's writings...and loved all he has done. To take all the subjects on that which he has done and, for me, always staggered me with his God-given ability to make/enable me to grasp the truth...or even enable me to grasp a part of these things that nobody else ever came close to...or they never even tried to take these monumental questions on. He was very intelligent, yet he would be able to look upon the simplest of us and somehow very gently leave us with things to take away from whatever he was teaching. I am happy he is in heaven with his God and Savior in complete bliss, though I am still often wanting to see that beautiful face, hear that voice that I never tire of. Thank you Lord for such a man, such a wonderful friend as R. C.

Very deep question... As God is perfect.. He includes in Him all information from darkest side to holiest.. He isn't dark but he knows the information.. so evil had these tools in him too.. but there couldn't be another "God" as if God creates a god like himself.. it chooses it's own way.. very very deep thing.. that's why God made us not perfect that we need Him.. otherwise our destiny is where evil is.. when we have all the glory..all the power.. we can't basically stay with God... Cause we choose to be on our own.. But that's much much deeper than my text.. but maybe it helped a bit to understand that how PERFECT it is to be NOT perfect hah.. it saves us.. and gives us the LiFE in Jesus

This could be an example of what one looks like to be anointed. It’s by way of the Spirit I believe when truth precedes through a vessel. Even through our own. Which is not ours any longer by definition . Paul said he was a slave to Christ. Think about that momentarily. He was a slave to the Son of God. Paul chose to believe God as God chose to reveal Himself. He learned Gods ways along his journey or race of faith. 1 Peter 1:9 says that salvation come at the end of the faith. RC is such a blessing.I’ve learned so much. Could it be that only God can know where Evil come from? Therefore it’s so important we trust in God. Otherwise we fall into the pitfall of either trust in our own arrogance - which can be ‘evil’ in ignorance - or trust in human, the like of communists, who are full of Evil intentions and Evil thoughts - much worse than even our own ignorance or arrogance at the bottom of such pits?

Evil is the absence of good. If you have a room full of darkness and light a candle the darkness instantly moves away from it. But if you have a room full of light and try to bring darkness into it you can't.

Besides Him there is no other. There was no opposite to good before He created it. When there is only light what’s the opposite? Darkness? No there is no opposite. There is just light. He restricted himself to create a space other than Him where such opposites could exist.

True...nobody knows where evil comes from and how a good God can allow it--it is a great mystery. I appreciate Dr. Sproul's honesty. We just have to trust in God's goodness and providence in this matter. But as mentioned, we see in the Bible that God uses evil for good in many occasions. Joseph tells his brothers "You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people will be kept alive, as they are today." Perhaps God ordains the existence of evil in order to bring about some kind of greater good.

Pride is evil. We don’t always choose to be prideful but pride is always present. Not honoring God as He deserves is evil. We never fully honor God - even our righteousness is a filthy rag. Immoral thoughts are evil - we don’t always choose to think evil things (think of the guy that cut you off in traffic, or cut in line at the grocery store) Point is, our natural man is evil. Evil is inherent in man from the time of Adam and Eve. Certain elements of evil are just “there” and not “willful” but we are accountable none the less.

Jesus said "the god of this world is coming and has nothing in me..." ~John 14:30 He also said in Him (Jesus) our joy would be full. There is no room or necessity for evil in the heart of a child of God that is born again and filled with the Holy Spirit. As darkness is the absence of light so evil is the absence of God.

I agree but still have many questions about defining evil. Can nature be considered evil when a tiger eats the young of other mammals, is an earthquake that causes human suffering and death considered evil since it's not a sentient being with intentions ? No point in Googling any questions like these. Back to your point I don't think eternity will be interesting unless we have challenges. But intellectual challenges may be enough, not physical and creative challenges. We can never be fully intellectually satisfied because we cannot ascend to God's level of omniscience, so this good attempt by Sproul is helpful, like any study, it just brings more questions as does any deep consideration.

I met God when I was very young, about 9 years of age. His Words spoken by a man, although I cannot remember what he looked like, the place I stood and the kind of day it was is in my mind to this day after fifty years. I recall, The Word spoken boldly, at a beach site with lots of sunshine and several dozens of people standing around, listening intently. At first my observation was to generate a memory I wanted to recall in latter years, of the look on the face of these people. It was enough that I thought I should remember the provocative concentration of their experience. I wanted to take an image of this look, enough to understand it when I got older, so that I could have a direct perception to associate it with the same Word, later in my life. I remember something inside me pushed me gently toward the crowd, and I remember the man standing on a podium speaking much like a Billy Graham type. Ever since then, I listen to anyone who speaks from the Word of Jesus Christ, enough to realise there is a message behind the spoken Word, as the Word became flesh and I knew of my Savior, personally- then : and it's the same Word being spoken today. Words have not changed, but every time I hear The Word, it is as if I am putting on fresh clothes, after a nice shower or bath. Thank you, Dr Sproul, my intellect of The Almighty has improved because of you.

I can remember the exact place and the event of being born again. I don't remember the date, but I remember the event as if it happened moments ago.. I went from being a non believer to a believer in a matter of a second or two after reading a bible text. I don't believe for a second that this happened of my own free will, or that I did, or could have done anything my self to going from being indifferent to the bible, and Jesus Christ one second, and then knowing that the bible to be the Word of God, and that Jesus is what the bible says he is then next. I was in my twenties, and that happened 4 decades ago, and nothing has changed regarding my faith gifted to me by God.

God created a book of life before He made the world: Rev_13:8 and all who dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain. Rev_21:27 But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life. Those are the elect, the ones predestined to eternal life. I made a more in-depth comment about this elsewhere in the comments of this video where someone claimed that salvation is given to human free will choice.

​@@fredflintstone8048 Free will is embedded into man's nature, it resides between the mind and the heart , integrated into man's conscience. The conscience is fused (slow blow for feelings and fast blow for emotions) with a moral compass : once the fuse is blown, the conscience immediately (quantitatively) kicks in to guide man's heart . If his heart is made of stone, it defaults to the mind and logic settles in. Salvation , i believe , is a gift that God does not give but He offers us the opportunity . He does not just give it away- anyone who is not seeing the full picture of the actual act . Jesus Christ (His Son) gave up some (JOHN 17:4-6) of His attributes, He veiled His Glory while on earth , otherwise man would not be able to live if he saw God's glory in the truest form. Jesus gave up many things things to come live with us for 33 years. Then, He gave up His life. Man is offered Salvation, but not in vain: it has to be measured unto a man and then offered, so that we are 110% understanding what we are handed. There is much more on this topic, and it is something you may wish to research in Bible study. Reading the Bible is one thing, but understanding every single Word and studying the sentence and paragraphs is what its all about . The Word has to be indoctrinated, as if to say " yes i read the KJ Bible" But do we understand every concept and precept of its meaning. Jesus Christ is included in all 66 books : and if one reads it too fast, you will miss Him. For instance, when God had to make a covering (study the Word "covering" intently) for Adam and Eve because of their sin , resulting in the shame and realization they were naked --- what animal did God sacrifice to make these clothes ? REVELATION 13:8 "...book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world " Jesus is (God forgive me ) was a metaphoric embodiment of The Lamb. God looks at the heart of man ! This is the true meaning, for owning the gift of Salvation offered.

I miss this great man of God! I will never forget it when he said "What is wrong with you people". He was righteously irritated with the question of a person in the audience. It wasnt the first question that undermined the holiness of God . Some people tend to make a god in their own image. They dont understand the majesty of our triune Lord. They have yet to have that illumination from the Spirit. God is holy holy holy. A wonderful series to learn from is Rc Sproul's "The Holiness of God". It will change your life!
